With Z.TAO making his recent solo debut, many Korean netizens and international fans have been criticizing his alleged lyrics towards EXO and SM Entertainment. Many EXO-Ls felt betrayed that Tao would make a solo debut without an official statement regarding leaving EXO (or not).

Chanyeol Writes Letter to EXO-L

Breaking his silence through his personal Instagram account, Chanyeol made a vague but heartwarming post saying, “All of you are having a difficult time, angry and even frustrated right? We will give you all warm hugs and comfort you through this, so please just always trust us, watch good things and speak good things from now on. You all remember what i said before right? I promise that you will only get to love at ease from now on :),” cheering his fans on with the small gesture. The caption was uploaded with the official logo of the group.

Due to the coincidence in timing, fans have speculated that the post was aimed as a response to Tao’s recent album release.

Apparently, SM has an illegal clause on their contracts (came out during the JYJ case) that states that the idol will sign away their rights to any music composition/producing they make and give them fully to SM. Meaning, that anything Tao makes is therefore owned by SM. And since we don't know the state of Tao's contract... It could very well be the case. :\

I could be wrong though and would love anyone to correct me.

Also SM is just blocking his work on Youtube. His MV, songs, teaser are on all the chinese relevant sites (YinYuetai, Sina, Youku, iqiyi etc). They can't touch him in China where his career matters the most.

I'm saying this is all smoke. SM waited until July 23th to get rid of the teaser/songs audio uploaded on Youtube. When coincidentally it was the day of T.A.O MV release.

I don't think this is legal though, claiming copyright over songs that have nothing to do with them. Can they claim Tao's name as their own? If it was legal though they would have dropped a statement about it. SM would have jumped on that shit so fast, like they did for Luhan and his use of an Exo photo for Kans.
Tao's Baidu was the one that wanted to upload his MV on yt, but never did after SM removed the teaser. They uploaded it on daylimotion and nothing happened. I hope his baidu informed Tao's team about this, legal team needs to get involved. Maybe we will see something from either Tao or SM next week.

Also you can see those people never watched the MV and are just barking for the fun of it. Black Pearl was never used in the teaser, nor in the MV. It was used in the show "Let's sing Kids" which fall on the show's resonsability.

1. tao was my exo bias. he could do no wrong in my eyes but ... him being silent on him leaving exo is annoying. at least kris and luhan filed lawsuits. tao is still in this nebulous terrain where he's seemingly left as evident by all his solo activities but he hasn't yet made an official statement.

i think sm's and tao's lawyers discuss the maseratis behind curtains non-stop, and they'll let us know when there's a major update. it annoys me to not know for sure, but then there's still a little bit of possibility for this to end quicker and with less pain than kris and luhan's cases -- if they agree before one party sues the other.
