It seems like all Korean stars have been blessed with beautiful, gorgeous skin. While some of that is certainly due to their amazing genes, it’s also due to detailed and faithful skincare. While most of us can’t afford to go to expensive dermatologists however, we can certainly take advantage of the many wonderful products available to the general public.
Like many countries in Asia, South Korea is home to some of the most advanced skincare companies in the world! These great companies offer products for a variety of skin types and ages. While many of us splurge on decent makeup or quality BB creams, one of the areas we often cut corners on is cleansing. If you want gorgeous, glowing skin this summer, one of the first products you need to invest in is a good face wash. How do you know which cleanser is best for your skin though? Let’s check out the products recommended by our editors and writers in “The 8 Best Korean Face Washes for All Skin Types!”
1. Tony Moly Clean Dew Lemon Foam Cleanser (Oily Skin)
This foam cleanser says it’s good for all skin types, but it actually tends to work the very best for oily skin. The lemon extract provides a very thorough, deep cleanse and instantly provides a brighter complexion as well. When washing your face, only a small amount of the product is required each time. Because of that and the affordable price, this is a great cleanser for people on a budget as well. In addition, it’s packed with Vitamin C which promotes healthier skin. 2. Skinfood Wildberry Milk Cleansing Foam (Sensitive Skin)
I am a huge personal believer in Skinfood products. After struggling with skin issues for years, I finally tried several different products from this company and instantly fell in love! In my opinion, this foaming milk cleanser is one of the best face washes available, especially for dry or sensitive skin. It is extra-soothing and gives dry skin the hydration and moisture it needs, while still providing a deep cleanse as well. It can also be used for normal skin.

3. Missha Near Skin Extra Renew Cleansing Foam (Dry Skin)
This product focuses more on hydrating the skin instead of a providing a deep cleanse. The reason why? Ingredients used to achieve a deep cleanse can sometimes be harsh to the skin. If you struggle with really dry skin already, then you need to stay away from ingredients which will only add to your problem. This product provides a light cleanse and deep hydration, making it a great product for people with dry skin. (Recommended by ck525)

4. The Face Shop Rice Water Bright Cleansing Foam (Normal Skin)
For years now, Asian women have known about the benefits of using rice water as a skincare product. Used to brighten the complexion and prevent wrinkles, rice water is the main ingredient in this product by The Face Shop. Other ingredients also add to the powerful detoxifying properties in the face wash, cleansing the skin gently while leaving it soft and smooth as well. This is a great product for people who already have great skin but need a well-balanced product to maintain their youthful, natural glow.

5. Skinfood Parsley and Mandarin Mild Foam (Acne-Prone Skin)
Many acne issues are caused by bacteria and other impurities that become trapped in the layers of our skin. As a result, we develop redness and inflammation (along with blackheads, bumps, etc). This powerful wash contains several ingredients with natural antioxidants and antibacterial properties that work together to provide a super deep cleanse. Although some people say that the spicy scent of fruits and herbs is too strong, it still remains one of the best face washes for troubled skin by managing to cleanse the skin without over-drying it with harsh chemicals. (Recommended by Soomp)

6. Etude House Wonder Pore Whipping Foam (Large Pores)
While this product is slightly more expensive than most of the other items on this list, it is definitely worth every penny! This 7-in-1 product promises a lot of results such as deep cleaning your pores, balancing your skin’s PH level, controling sebum, and much more. However, does the product really fulfill all those promises? Most buyers agree that it does! Not only does it provide a thorough cleanse and immediate brightening effect, it also minimizes the appearance of your pores with time.

7. Nature Republic Collagen Dream Vitamin C Capsule Foam Cleanser (Anti-Aging)
Did you know some dermatologists recommend that people start using anti-aging products at around 13 years of age? Before we can even see the first line or wrinkle, the aging process has already begun its work on our skin. That’s why it is so important to establish a faithful skincare regimen. If you need an extra boost to repair damage to your skin, this product is filled with tiny Vitamin C capsules to brighten your skin tone or age spots. It’s also filled with collagen to help maintain the youthful elasticity of your skin.

8. Innisfree Apple Juicy Deep Cleansing Foam (Combination Skin)
Most people with combination skin struggle to find a product that can take care of their acne-prone areas without over-drying the rest of their skin. However, companies like Innisfree have produced some amazing items which will literally leave your skin squeaky-clean! At the same time though, it provides just the right amount of hydration without making the skin oily. The fresh apple scent is really nice as well.

It is actually NOT as time consuming as I thought it would be! And then my skin looks so pretty afterwards.

Date: 2015-07-23 09:33 pm (UTC)I've started asian skincare (and skincare in general really recently) so I'm on my first run with all the products- but I pretty much like them all? I'd like to try a new toner though if anyone has rec
oil cleanser : banila co. sherbet clean it zero
foam cleanser : the face shop 365 cleanser peach
toner & emulsion :secret key synake line (i'm 20 i don't even know why i buy the anti age stuff #paranoid)
essence: etude house like 20
cream : secret key snow white (i lost it somewhere in my house though- but since it's the summer i've been skipping it anyway)
eye cream: not really a cream but I *just* started using Tonymoly so cool panda's dream eye stick- awesome to apply thoughout the day
night cream: tony moly instense care dual effect sleeping pack
suncare: usually rely on my Saem green face brighter or Lioele dollish green BB cream and their 30 SPF when I'm in France. In the US or anywhere with much more evil sun and SPF I use some Neutrogena sunscreen I bought at Costco. Either ultra sheer dry touch 50 SPF in a tube- or when hiking or being outside a lot i just layer over the neutrogena stick (it's amazing yet non oily and it feels hydrating) 70 SPF
I also do weekly tonymoly's tomatox mask (just bought it too- yay for the TM shop in NY) and a random sheet mask i bought in the asian neighborhood for 1 dollar after because my face gets stripped of oils so fast.
I don't exfoliate. my skin is dry enough and i don't have much dead skin? even if i did exfioliating would just strip my skin and create more dead skin + redness and irritation. I use a gentle scrub maybe once every blue moon when the seasons change tbh
ah I just love to apply just when i wake up Bioderma solution micellaire on my skin- or after toner in the evenings- I just love the feel of the water on my skin haha. And I'm french so this is literally the only thing I've used on my skin for years before going 10 step routine, I love it.

Date: 2015-07-23 09:35 pm (UTC)I use L'Oréal Sublime Cleansers Sensational Cleansing Oil and St. Ives apricot cleanser/deep cleaning if I wear makeup. On days I don't wear makeup I use Clinique Rinse-Off Foaming Cleanser and Marcelle Soothing Cleansing Water.
Cleansing water is LIFE, and the best lazy day skin care trick EVER.
My sister uses The Face Shop's Skinfood Parsley and Mandarin Mild Foam (she has acne, teenager) and their Cleansing Cream from the same line (I used this stuff sometimes, it's like an oil cleanser but soothing).

Date: 2015-07-23 09:38 pm (UTC)I have acne mostly on my chin and cheek, and the products I use haven't been helping much. I have a pore cleaner thing and I often get those little white spots on my face, dunno what they're called.

Date: 2015-07-23 09:39 pm (UTC)Funny story: I went to the faceshop and asked for a recommendation on a cleanser and they told me the Rice one and the girl went "It's really good for whitening--" and looked mortified bc I'm a darkskinned black person so I think she thought she had offended me?? And then tried to backpedal really hard.
But it does work, my friend said it destroyed her tan and honestly my face isn't...necessarily whiter but it has more of a translucent/shiny quality to it than my body?
I find myself unable to commit to skincare routines that require more than one step and products that cost more than $8, so I've been using home remedies and they're equally if not more effective I've found.

Date: 2015-07-23 11:11 pm (UTC)My favorite thing about double cleansing are grits. Gross, I know, but I'm the type who stares at people' blackheads and sebaceous filaments lol.
I even made my mom try my banila co balm + local brand sage cleanser and now she gets asked is she did any lifiting procedure :p she scarred her face last year, it doesn't affect the damaged parts which is nice. I have rosacea and had to be careful with mineral oil at first. I just started using missha aloe fermented foam and it's good, gentle but does it job. Shame it irrates my mom.

I love Skinfood the best, but unfortunately they're discontinuing my favorite line (the peach sake cleansing line).

Date: 2015-07-24 12:37 am (UTC)I do currently use the grapefruit version of the Tonymoly cleanser but it doesn't really seem to help my skin at all. I do appreciate that it doesn't dry my skin out like cleansers I've bought from Stateside companies.

Date: 2015-07-24 11:36 am (UTC)If you use bb creams, sunblocks etc it can pile up on your skin and double cleansing is necessary. Just from experience, after few weeks of double cleansing I noticed I have less clogged pores. I used micellar water for years but I had to use like 5-8 cotton pads to get all make up etc from my face and it was annoying :p
Oil is good for cleansing because sebum is an oil too and in chemistry the same thing dissolves the same thing. While massaging, oil gets into your pores and loosens the dirt inside, making it pop out and clear your face.
