Tasty or "DLXL" to Release New Music + Provide Receipts

Despite the ongoing controversy regarding TASTY’s alleged one-sided departure from Woollim Entertainment, the twins Daeryong and Soryong will release a new single on July 26th.

A colorful group teaser taken against a background of containers as well as black and white individual teaser images have been released. To note, their official Weibo account has also removed “TASTY” from its profile name and replaced it with “DLXL” instead.

In response to this move by Tasty, Woollim stated to the media, “We’re shocked and dumbfounded.”

EVIDENCE OF CONTACTING AGENCY
Earlier today, Tasty uploaded screen captures as evidence that they had tried to contact Woollim Entertainment in contrast to the claims the agency made saying Tasty just left Korea and cut ties without any notice.

In the screen captures provided, you can see Tasty calling the CEO of Woollim through Kakao voice talk, as well as evidence of conversations between Tasty and someone at the company not specifically named. Tasty explained, along with the images, that they had returned (to China) on June 3, contacted the CEO on June 6, and that on July 21 (which is the day they announced their Chinese single release), they had also contacted Woollim first. *The tweets have since been deleted.



In response to this, Woollim Entertainment first stated that they were looking into it, and now they have released an official statement.

Woollim explained that Tasty left for China without any notice on June 3 and only two days later contacted the CEO to tell him unilaterally that they wanted to cancel their contract. And after one month without any contact, they announced on their social media network (SNS) account that they were going to begin activities in China and release a single.

Woollim voiced their anger, continuing, “But today, they once again only used SNS to say things that make them look like they continuously tried to contact us.”

Woollim concluded with the firm statement that what Tasty is doing- performing in China and releasing an album- is against their contract as they are still under an exclusive contract with the agency.”

Woollim asked for Tasty to talk to them directly, not just through phone networks and SNS.

I think they did talk about it earlier and more, but these screenshots are probably the only way to prove that Tasty did in fact contact them. I doubt they would voice record a direct talk or anything, so Woolim can twist these screenshots any way they want.

Woollim threw Myungsoo under the bus by making contradictory statements and not letting him speak for himself wrt that whole mess and it ended up tanking his image with the public/most of his fans. And then they decided to grossly exploit his breakdown over the entire thing for Infinite's documentary so... yeah. They're awful.

I would think when canceling a legal contract they'd probably want something from a lawyer, in writing and not just a text message. I'm not saying TASTY isn't justified in wanting to leave, but leaving before talking to anyone is nagl, and probably won't do them any favors if this goes to court.

I just hope TASTY have some type of legal counsel who's advising them, they'll probably need it at this rate.
