i'd always forget about the pain of bleaching until i put the first bit of bleach on and it found a small scratch and i'd be like, welp, here comes hell

on a schadenfreude note this makes me feel good about myself because even my sloppily-applied home bleach never looked that bad and like the netizens said, they must have /paid/ for this shit job. i hope they asked for their money back

I'm ignorant re:bleach, and I know it damages your hair no matter what, but shouldn't it at least be a little better if it was done by a professional? How does it all work exactly.

Someone definitely messed up. Bleaching is always damaging -- it has to be to strip the color out, and it really opens up the hair shaft, but it shouldn't make your hair like straw. I'm no beautician, but it looks like it was bleached too long and not immediately deep conditioned after.

I also have really dark hair, and the amount of time you have to sit with that crap (which can totally burn your scalp) to get it to that color... yikes.

Woooow if I were Bomi I'd just hack it all off and wear wigs until it grows out again. I got my hair bleached about a month ago with possibly the worst texture you could go into it with (super fine, ridiculously curly dry hair) and mine looks way better than her's. D:

I actually did that and am still growing it out (it's been almost ten months!). Being bald is not as scary as people anticipate and having fresh, healthy hair was absolutely worth it.

Omg she got done dirty by her colorist.

The first time I had my hair bleached blonde, I started tearing up because it hurt my scalp so much. It left sores/scabs on my scalp, and I went to a super good high end salon. My virgin hair was really resistant to color and I had a naturally tender scalp, but I've dyed my hair so many times since then that nothing hurts anymore lol.

Her hair was bright pink in the MV and then just blonde for half of it. Hopefully they are just going to use chalk for the rest of the time. :/

i once dyed lower part of my fringe blonde, it looked cool but i couldn't get to the right shade i wanted white but all i could get was orange-yellow. and after a while that hair started darkening on it's own...
also the bleached part of my hair was growing out really slow, which i found interesting as general my hair grows rather fast, up to 4cm per month.

poor bomi, last year she had that weird short/long hairstyle, dyed her hair back and forth and now the blonde... seems like she will have to cut it short... i remember gayoon talking about injuring her scalp with bleaching, scary
Yes, not too long ago, we filmed a music video and feeling something weird flowing down my back that felt like sweat, I felt weird so I touched the back of my neck and it wasn’t sweat, it was discharge from my scalp. Your scalp can’t stand excessive bleaching. There were even times when I slept and woke up that my pillow would be drenched in discharge. I went to the hospital and received treatment and good care and they said that when your scalp is irritated, the best treatment method is to leave it alone. Naeun's looks alright, Bomi's hair looks destroyed.... Ive been terrified of bleaching ever since I was thirteen and saw a ANTM ep where one of the contestants had to get it done and she was in AGONY (the result turned out extremely shitty too so it was all for nothing, poor girl).

this is why i'm kinda scared to do anything to my hair.. people say my hair is amazing all the time and i think half the reason is just unlike most other ppl i've never dyed/straightened/curled it in my life. i don't know much about it all but just the idea of doing any of those things to my hair kinda makes me cringe

As long as you don't overdo it and take good care of your hair while you're doing it, you will be fine. I did a lot of research in the past and I have kept up with using deep conditioners, serums, sprays...you name it I've got it. It really does make a difference, especially if you are willing/able to pay for the expensive stuff. I've done nearly every cut, color, and style to my hair and the only time it failed me was when I didn't take my own advice, skimped on hair care, and changed my color too often and too drastically (black to pink to blonde to brown to blue etc in only a few months).

I've wanted to dye my hair midnight blue since I was like 5, anime my gave me unnatural expectations for hair colour lol. Then a few months ago I bought a wig (which I'll never actually wear) that's the perfect combo of orange (like redhead not like a crayon), golden blonde, and brown. I wanted to dye my hair so bad but now is not the time :"(

I had the perfect shoulder-length relaxed lob for years, but finally talked myself into cutting it (one of my other childhood hair dreams). Now I've been natural for about 20 months and my hair is almost back to the same length (the back is actually longer than before but for a lob I need 3 more inches on the front). I think I'm going to become a heat-trained natural (if my wallet can afford a professional press).

last wednesday there was a report on tv where they talked about bleaching that went wrong. one girl in particular was there and talked about her experience.....

they bleached her hair 2 times, she told the stylist that it hurts and cried, but they just said that everything was fine. her hair will NEVER grow back because her scalp was severly burned.

I've got long hair and I bleached it all back in January and due to me being a dumbass and not buying enough bleach and not realizing until it was already in my hair, by the time I finished and washed it out, my roots had bleach on them for three hours. My hair was like straw for a couple weeks but it never looked that bad. So I want to know how a professional screwed up that bad.

i bleached my ends and dyed my hair purple and I'll never do it again. I loved the color, and it was fine while it lasted but bleach on natural hair loosened my curl pattern (i THINK) and chained the texture so it's a bit rougher no matter what I do.

My hair doesn't look THAT unhealthy, though, damn. That's a bit MUCH.
