Song Ji Hyo Parts Ways Agency & Confirms Break Up with CEO Boyfriend

It is being reported that actress Song Ji Hyo has decided to part ways with her management agency, C-JeS Entertainment, following the expiration of her contract. Along with this news, it has also officially been confirmed that she is no longer with her former boyfriend, who is also the CEO of C-JeS Entertainment.

On the morning of July 10, it was made known that her exclusive contract with her agency has ended its run.

A representative of C-JeS Entertainment revealed, “After four years of being Song Ji Hyo’s management, we will no longer be working with her. Also, CEO [Baek Chang Joo] and Song Ji Hyo have maintained their manager-actor relations after parting ways as a couple two years ago.”

After publicly acknowledging her relationship with then-boyfriend Baek Chang Joo in 2012, the current status of their relationship was never confirmed until now.

The agency rep further shared, “We will cheer on Song Ji Hyo, who has been earning much popularity in Asia, to continue earning a lot of love through various promotions in the future. Furthermore, we will fully cooperate with her until she decides on a new agency.”

I wish her the best as she finds a new agency! Also a big fat 'I TOLD YOU SO' to people who didn't believe me when I said that they had broken up 2 years ago based on how she and other cast members acted in Running Man. Sadly, I think she and Gary would have already happened if it were to be.

I thought the split was handled well and drama free for both parties...still though...to still have your ex as your manager is something I would feel weird about.

They acted differently mostly in the way Monday Couple stuff kept coming up. While she was with the CEO, SJH made it very clear (with her words and cold shoulder) that the whole love line thing was not going on. (Which is fine, it's her image and she can do whatever she wants.) So she was very quick to shoot down ANYTHING between she and Gary/other guests. However, suddenly (around 2 years ago...hmmm...) that began to change and she 'chilled out' about their teasing her and how she acted in front of others. It was an entire body language/verbal language read for me I guess.

Oh and now that you mention it I can def see what you mean. Especially when that kiss happened, I just thought she or her SO calmed down and realized it didn't invalidate her rl relationship. Should have known lol.. Now I want to go back and compare.

I elaborated in my comment above. It more had to do with body language/actions towards the other male cast members (like Gary/Kim Jong Kook/male guests) and the way she would talk/imply things. Sorry that I don't have any specifics...

They've chilled it out recently which makes me wonder if Gary/SJH are dating other people. (I mean they have moments, but both of them make comments like "You again?" so it isn't as cheesy/forced as it used to be.)

Her contract was such that she could leave at any time, the fact that she left after 2 years shows that their split was amicable, though I don't doubt it must've been a tad awkward. I hope she finds a good agency, and I also wish for her to finally find a role that will showcase how awesome she is as an actress, and not just variety show character.

IMO I find her to have more chemistry with Jongkook, Jaesuk and Kwangsoo. Monday Couple seems pretty forced and one sided.

I think with KJK and LKS in particular she doesn't have a 'love line' so she is able to be more herself around them. (Like biting KJK's chest and 'tackling' LKS...) If she were to do that with Gary then the Monday Couple fans would have gone crazy with dating rumors so she probably has been strategic in what she has done with Gary on screen and off. I think there was a time where she and Gary were attracted to each other but for obvious reasons neither pursued it.

Yeah being Monday Couple limits their relationship so they couldn't be like her and Jong Kook (because I think Gary is most similar to Jong Kook among the guys, and a little like HaHa). When they team up, they're pretty good for certain challenges- they possess a fair balance of strength, speed, and quick thinking between the two of them.

The article says that this is the first public confirmation of the break up, but if you follow SJH/Running Man at all I would think it would be obvious.

I hope her next agency is a bit more aggressive about putting her name out there. In several fan polls she is often the favorite...at least internationally...but it seems that it hasn't been until the past year that she has 'been out there'. (Like with CF's/modeling for Banila Co. etc.)

You're right about the cfs, I definitely want to see more of those. I meant more about her acting, some of her best roles (in terms of range) are from these past few years (and...a few others we won't mention). I just hope she still gets the cream of the crop characters to choose from.
Also her cho.2 collaboration is really unique for an actress and brings her a lot of $$$$, probably wouldn't have happened without her company backing her proactively

I was pleasantly surprised by her Cho.2 collaboration/modeling as well. She's of course is absolutely stunning. Good for her for making that money!

My next prediction...? Gary will continue to adorably butcher the English (and LBR, Spanish) language. (Although I admit, that is an easy one to predict. ;) )
