Well, if you live in United States at least. The Wonder Girls' Official Pre-Order Site has put up a new product: "Nobody" - Sweet Edition (single)

Photobucket

The single has three tracks, Nobody (English Verison), Nobody (Jason Nevins Remix) and Nobody (Karaoke Version). Each single is numbered and hand signed by the Wonder Girl. It will be shipped the week of October 19, 2009, but only within the United States. The cost of the single is $8.00 total, $5.00 for the single and $3.00 for shipping, but its limited to 2,000 copies and 3 per customer. So for those who don't live in the United States, find a friend that does and get them to grab you one before the offer runs out.

This is my first time posting, so I really hope I did this right. Please don't kill me if I didn't.

I am so tired of this song. Plus it sounds so awkward in English... my [non-Kpop] friends who went to the JoBros concert were so fucking pissed that they had to sit through these random chicks trying to get the audience to learn their dance.

they are never going to succeed if they're not signed to an American record label :\ stuff like this is nice but it's only catering to ppl who are already fans..

I dunno, I don't really consider that to be a matter of success, more like a lucky break. cuz look at BoA vs. Utada, the difference in promotion is ridiculous when you have an American record label backing u up.

Okay, first of all, Utada was never dropped from an American record label, she's always been with Island Def Jam. I don't know where you got that from.

Her contract with them is for three albums, something pretty much unheard of for new artists. You might not be aware of what record labels actually do, but I'll explain: Utada was able to get a fair amount of radio airplay (a huge chunk of what determines chart position) because Def Jam put her on numerous promotional compilations with their other artists that they send regularly to radio stations. That's how she got played on stations like Z100 in NYC (the largest radio station in the country) and reached the top 100 for Billboard pop radio. Utada also was able to work with producers like Timbaland, The Neptunes, Tricky and Stargate (four of the biggest producers in American R&B). The advantage she got was huge and that's probably why her album sold twice as much as BoA, and her radio spins were nearly 5 times as much.

BoA didn't work with any huge producers. Her album sales were dismal, and she didn't even make it on any Billboard mainstream charts, and her chart position was laughable (#127 vs. Utada's #69). And MTV Iggy =/= MTV. She also faced the issue of many retailers not even carrying her album because it was not from a major label. Record labels handle those types of things, which is why Utada's CD was seen in every music retailer in the country.

I'm sorry but there is no logic in thinking that not having a record deal with an American company isn't detrimental, or even helpful.

If you really think Bloodshy & Avant, Henrik Jonback and Brian Kennedy (who?) are bigger than Timbaland, Pharrell, Stargate and Tricky, then go ahead, but you're sounding a bit off-base by saying something like that.

And are you really trying to judge airplay and TV exposure based on what you personally saw/heard? Because that's pretty ridiculous. I'm going by what was reported by official media tracking websites, which show BoA's spins being nearly 1/5 of Utada's.

As for the in store availability, there were hundreds of reports of BoA fans not being able to find her CD in any stores, including major retailers like Best Buy and Walmart. I just looked on Best Buy's page, and BoA's album is listed as "unavailable" in every store in New York City. Utada's album was listed as "available" in 60% of them.

Utada's first album charted lower, but it sold 55,000 copies. Yes, that's nearly 5 times as much as BoA's first album. So no, BoA's album did not do better.

I don't have anything to add to your comment,
I just wanted to say that Utada >>>>>> BoA. :)

Actually this album is intentionally a fan exclusive, the "invites" were only sent to WG fans.
