In other news, yard work is hard manual labor, especially when it involves dumping and spreading mulch and cutting up root systems of weeds that look like they were giving some kind of growth hormone steroid. Oi.
Also still trying to find a second job but that's bearing little fruit. Time to add some vodka to my frozen lemonade and kick up my feet for a few hours while adding a few more views to Adore U's MV (it's almost to 2 million, go watch it so we can get another special version!)

Oh I know yard work. I have a large garden and while I have now managed to more or less tame it (we're next to fields though so weeds are a (very painful) part of life) when I bought this house the previous owners had left the garden to grow and had planted all sorts of bushes on top of each other and it was a right mess. I had to cut down and uproot a crab apple bush, jasmine, and honeysuckle that were too old and take down the ratchety old trellis and then dig up the million different root systems under there. Took me a couple months. But now it's all pretty, or it would be if the recent sudden heatwave handn't scorched the lawn and the flowers. Cest la vie.

Yesterday was a rollercoaster for me, I found out I got picked for the position I applied for two months ago. It's a full time job as well so I am very excited about that. Idk when I will start tho because I still need to talk to my supervisor and she didn't come in for work today.

I also got an allergic reaction to something in this Thai pineapple fried rice I ate and broke out into hives. D=

Besides that, I have been trying to keep cool in this heat. It has been over a 100 degrees for the past few days OTL

i've been studying korean for the past few weeks quite a bit but i still feel like i'm not making any progress, sighs. i don't think i'm going to be able to communicate well when i go over there but at least i'm trying??? lol sobs

i was having wrist pains for the longest time and i finally got medication for it, but it makes it impossible for me to sleep at a decent time and it makes my acid reflux act up so i'm like...is it worth it...is it really worth these other side effects to get some relief for my poor hands and wrists

Language acquisition takes a lonnnnnnnnnnng time, especially if you're studying via a book. :) Don't worry...just go and use what you can whenever you can and don't be afraid to make mistakes. That's how you're gonna learn it quickly, and you'll be surprised how conversational you become in how short a time, if you're diligent about it. :)

Rn i'm sitting at my mom's office helping her out (basically i have to otherwise she won't feed me:p), stamping documents and stuff. It's super late tho and mom always does long overtime hours and I feel bad if I don't come to help her and walk home cause I'm worried about her being alone at night.
Anyways my dad proved himself to be a shit person (again). He was saving money on special account, some sort of housing fund. Turns out he can't withdraw it rn cause he would have to pay the taxes he didn't had to bc of this fund. And that's like half of the money he saved? Basically he will have to wait two years cause by then somehow he won't have to pay any taxes (i dont get it myself). The thing is my brother recently moved into a flat and dad promised to pay for with that housing fund... the owners were promised $ and def they won't wait 2 years (they are in debts..) and seems like my parents will take a loan. Supposedly they will pay it up once the housing fund is free of taxes obligations but knowing my dad... I'm worried. My mom would be the taking care of the debt anyway, dad is busy doing nothing, going to his occult church and caking care of the woman he says he's not having an affair with... while he's the one that fucked up, not realising sooner that he had gotten my brother (who is an asshole too but thats a diff story) into some serious mess.
Giving this situation I asked my mom if it's okay for me to start another major in oct... she said i shouldn't even think about it as it's not my business, like in a good way? But i still feel like i'll be wasting money so idk... i doubt i will be accepted into anything i applied for anyway.

You're not wasting money. Because it will even probably help you mentally to feel fulfilled. And sometimes education can help us to realize a lot of things about ourselves and what compliment us. Maybe the major helps you to organize your thoughts.

Happy Friday! All of my doctors went nuts trying to get patients discharged/seen before the holiday weekend, so I'm up to my eyeballs in work. Blah. But it's money, so I shouldn't complain.

I've had Bronchitis for a month know and I am sooooo over it. I can't smoke so I'm cranky, I was working for 13 hours in the sun on Sunday an it didn't help. Honestly if the damn doctor had listened to me in the first place I would be OK, I get Bronchitis pretty much every year at this time. I would quit smoking but it would complicate so many mental health things and my meds dosage that even though I know I need to quit it's hard breaking a 12 year habit.

I feel weird talking about something so personal here but I came to a point that I'm really frustrated. I have been seriously depressed for more than a year (I had problems for years but it was much worst this last one). And I came to a point when I don't what to do anything. Medication helped me because some of the worst thoughts that came to my mind are really rare now, but I still have my mind in a state that just doesn't work right. I feel bad because I look just like a lazy person and my parents think I 'm depressed because I spent all the time on the computer watching Kdramas or other things. When, in fact is the opposite, I'm on the computer watching things because when I try to do any other thing that requires to think, it ends up bad. I start to think and all goes downhill from there.
And my parents are all the time asking how they can help me and I don't know what to say because I don't know hot to get out of here. Is so frustrating. I just want to be active, not be tired all the time and to have a working mind.

Fourth round of chemo today. (One more month to go!) I'll be laid up for the holiday weekend, but whatever. My mom buzzed my hair so it's about an inch long now. I think I'm over the hair falling out thing. It's patchy and hard to look at and keep it covered with soft hats. I've always had long hair but now I'm getting excited about what kind of short hair styles I can try when it grows back in.

I already went to Ulta today and did some serious damage since L'Oreal and Nyx are 40% off, but they also have an online only sale and I have so much stuff in my cart.

The last couple of times I've been there this lavander lisptick that's a close dupe to Macs Men Love Mystery has been sold out and it makes me so upset because I have literally zero people with any type of purple lip color.

My first FFA in forever. Does anyone how to deal with a super micro managing boss? I'm about to rip my hair out.

I have a micro-managing boss. While I don't deal with her so well, these are my thoughts:

1. Take care of yourself first. If you need to take a 15 minute break for fresh air and a frappucino to get tf away from them, do that.

2. Draw boundaries. There need to be some things that you just won't do, or that you don't have time for now that she's watching and controlling you so closely. Or at least that you're going to need a significant pay increase if you are going to do or keep doing. For example, I do not check my email unless there is a weather-related situation that might shut down the office for the day. When she tells me to do something, I don't do more than asked. My boss also wants me to actually do some sales calling on top of everything else, but it doesn't happen. I'm busy with client work, of course, and that comes first. But I wouldn't do it anyway. This also means leaving work at work as much as possible. When you get home at the end of the day/week, you are free. Don't allow thoughts of work or your boss to trouble you when you aren't there. Some people create a ritual of transition to make this possible - for example, immediately removing your work clothes and taking a shower when getting home from work, or turning on fun music while you fix yourself a meal or snack, or taking a longer-than-necessary train/bus/walk home to give you the headspace and time to decompress.

3. Maintain documentation. When I finish a task I make note of it (in my timesheet) and email her separately with progress reports on things. I make notes of dates and times of phone calls, write down on meeting agendas what I was told to do/not do. She can't ever claim that I didn't do something or didn't tell her about it because I have the proof. If she complains that you're sending too much email, tell her your just trying to stay highly accountable- she asked for it, right?

4. Subsequently, when it comes to the times when she drops the ball, you have your evidence to fall back on. She can't say you didn't follow her directions, because you have the email from her and you have the copy of the reply stating what you did and did not do. She can't get vindictive and claim you are a bad worker, because you can PROVE that you pay attention and follow directions as they are given. How is this the mark of a bad worker? You can't act on directions you weren't given, and there's no point in trying to do more than you were told to do because you will have to fix it later, right?
