Kim Bum makes fangirls out of Filipino teen stars

From the press conference on October 3, 2009 with Maja Salvador, she mentioned that she has wrapped up filming the upcoming CF for soda brand RC Cola with Kim Bum of Boys Over Flowers.

They selected Paco and Binondo in Manila for their local backdrops. Maja mentioned there weren’t very many onlookers during the shoot because everyone was cautious about the arrival of Typhoon Parma which is now wreaking havoc in Northern Luzon.

So how was the CF shoot with Kim Bum?

“The storyline will make everyone fall in love because of the romance. I myself felt giddy. All of the people at the set whether young or old weren’t spared from feeling giddy as well.”

Would there be kissing scenes with Kim Bum in the CF?

“I suggest that everyone should just watch out for it. At this point in time, I am not yet allowed to reveal any more information with regards to the details of the commercial. But I can assure all of you that it is going to be very romantic. That is all I can say for now.”

When it was first revealed to Maja that she would be doing a CF with Kim Bum, she couldn’t help but let out a squeal of delight.

“I felt ultimately lucky. Aren’t there a lot of young people who admire him and dream to at least simply take a photo with him? For me, even just a picture together with him would make me feel blissful.

“But while doing this CF, I would ask myself if I was only dreaming when we were shooting some scenes. Is this actually happening for real? That kind of thoughts.”

Aside from his dashing looks, what did Maja found attractive in Kim Bum?

“He knows how to get along with people well. Even if everyone is rushing because his time in the country is limited, he doesn’t get himself worked out. He’s a pretty chill guy. No snobbish air at all around him. He’s naturally a happy fellow.

“He would check on me if I’m feeling alright from time to time. He would ask if I felt tired and that kind of stuff. He also made sure everyone on the set is well despite the typhoon and all.”

Maja had seen Kim Bum in the Korean drama Boys Over Flowers. She still couldn’t believe she was able to work with him in a commercial.

“He asked me if Korean celebrities were popular in the Philippines. So I sang for him stuff by 2NE1 and Nobody which amused him. I just want him to feel welcomed here in the Philippines.”

Kim Bum mentioned in an interview that Maja was very professional to work with. What can she say about it?

“Of course, for this to come from a foreign actor, it’s very flattering for him to say such of me.”

I personally love myself some RC (because it's so cheap and accessible when me and my friends are broke and want an instant food party) so I love that he's endorsing it. Advertising has been RC's weakness so getting Kim Bum as endorser should be a good sign that they are improving on this aspect.

It was shot somewhere near Plaza Dilao. I live a jeepney ride away and I srsly wanna die at not being able to see him. He was heavily guarded, accdg to a friend who worked at the set.
