Plot
A major star has achieved the success he has always wanted and wants to fill the emptiness he has had in his heart for the past 20 years. In 1995, Park Hyun Soo (Junior) is an energetic 17-year-old boy when he meets 13-year-old Ji Eun Dong (Lee Ja In), an orphan who still has a positive outlook on life. Hyun Soo’s heart is awakened by Eun Dong but she suddenly disappears before he could really get to know her. In 2005, Hyun Soo now goes by the stage name Ji Eun Ho (Baek Sung Hyun) and aspires to become an actor. When he bumps into Eun Dong (Yoon So Hee) again after 10 years, the two fall deeply in love. But again without warning, Eun Dong disappears without a trace. In 2015, Eun Ho (Joo Jin Mo) is now a top actor who has the fame and wealth he has always wanted. But what he doesn’t have is the love of his life to share his success with. So Eun Ho decides to write an autobiography that details his love for Eun Dong over the past 20 years in the hopes of locating her. He hires a ghostwriter, Seo Jung Eun (Kim Sa Rang), to help him write the book. After he dictates his stories of Eun Dong, he sends them to Jung Eun to transcribe and incorporate into his book. But why do these stories sound vaguely familiar to Jung Eun…?

After the latest episode and next week preview, I need to discuss this drama. Someone summed up the drama nicely, "My Love Eundong gets filtered through two very different windows. It’s poetry in motion, but it’s also reality’s distortion." Anyway, the two leads are a revelation and their chemistry together is just fire.

Date: 2015-06-29 03:42 pm (UTC)It's Eun Ho/Hyun Soo whom I'm conflicted about. Obviously he really loves Eun Dong and he has some tender moments (especially whenever expressed in writing, like in his book or his letter) where I sympathize with him greatly and understand where his mind's at. It just bugs me that, as he said himself, he's made his ENTIRE LIFE about Eun Dong, every decision linking back to her somehow, and because of that, it seems like he feels entitled to having her. Like (beyond fate/destiny/whatever) because he's waited for her for so long, because he's been so ~faithful and ~unwavering, because he chose to make his life all about her, she owes it to him to reciprocate?
Then again, I don't like her husband either (and her dad's role in all this is mad sketchy too), so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Is there an implication in the preview that Ra Il isn't their biological child? I didn't quite catch that, but I'm def curious.

Date: 2015-06-29 05:14 pm (UTC)In a way, Eunho is still a lot like his childish, reckless younger self. He acts before he thinks, only his feelings matter and no one else. I like that her sister has more conscience than him and not too quick to back him up just because he's her brother. At this point, I probably want an open ending with Eundong not being with anyone and on a journey to find herself. If anything, she had it worse with having to care for a disabled husband and 10 years of being lied to. Though I still want Eunho and Eundong to be together because the tension is so palpable, I could combust.
Hyunah tested a sample of her DNA and Ra-il's. It's been hinted that he might be Eunho's but it's a lame one because I don't buy long-lost parent-kid having the same habit to show they are ~related~ (looking at you, What a Girl Wants)

Date: 2015-06-29 05:29 pm (UTC)I do like the leads' chemistry! Idk if I really want them to end up together (I like your open ending suggestion), but I was DEFINITELY rooting for her to regain her memories. It was so shitty of everyone who lied to her for 10 years and made up all that bs. I'm glad her mom felt bad and is coming around to her side.
Ugh no, I don't want him to be Eun Ho's kid. D:

Date: 2015-06-29 05:42 pm (UTC)Yeah, until Eunho proves himself to be the bigger person (read: more mature), I couldn't really get behind them. I hope that scene at the banquet whatever is foreshadowing of Eunho/Eundong/Jaeho because Eundong just looked done with both of them and walked away.
They are the "OTP." Of course he's going to be the son by Kdrama standard.

Date: 2015-06-30 07:16 am (UTC)I think his mindset has a lot to do with the fact that she really did change~ him. He was on a slippery slop to convicted felon (who would probably be in and out of jail since he gives zero shits even after getting caught)., had no real goal, doesn't even have friends (is closest friend is only their as a reminder~ of ED). If he didn't base his life around be a better~ person like she wanted him to be, he wouldn't have much to show for after all these years.
About RI: the writer keeps giving legit hints (i.e dates when otp had sex and the husband being infertile (?)). But it makes no sense, since a 3 day old embryo should not have been able to survive that accident lol

Date: 2015-06-29 04:56 pm (UTC)does anyone know what type of actor JJM is in S. Korea? is he JDG/WB levels of prestige/recognition? i loved happy end and a frozen flower... he seems to be going backwards in terms of career trajectory, but i'm not complaining lol

Date: 2015-06-29 07:50 pm (UTC)I actually thought it was more than hinted a few eps ago that Ra Il's paternity is questionable. In my mind, I want him to be Eun Ho's. I think it is because I really don't like Jaeho. Disabled or not, he seems manipulative from the get go.
Eun Ho got a little too much for me in ep 9. I didn't like that he invaded Jung Eun's family time. It was very self centered and I don't like that.
Either way, I still like this drama a lot. Plenty of chemistry and gorgeous camerawork.

Date: 2015-06-30 07:25 am (UTC)Nothing adds up to RI being JH's, but they never talk about RI's birthday (she could have actually been a month into her pregnancy at the time of the accident lol). If this was any other drama I would say RI's biological father is actually ED's adopted dad (ew).

I haven't watch this, I love Joo Jinmoo (I love Kdrama ajusshis : Jang Donggun, Jung Woosung, Joo Jinmoo and Lee Jungjae), but I'm hesitating to watch sad drama nowadays.

Date: 2015-06-30 07:11 am (UTC)I would like to say "I KNEW IT" @ ED loving him more/first. (also knew she had some fanboy sidepiece but didn't expect her dad to be in on it).
I LOVED the part where he screams her name in front of all those people. I knew his over-dramatic ass wouldn't be able to go through that event without snapping lol. (I was expecting them to just say fuck it and make out in-front of all those baseball people)
I can't believe it's taking so long for the Ra-il arc to take off. Really dislike his childhood bf, but that speech about him being the only witness to their love was very believable. EH's sister (and his taker) need to take a few seats.
