I can understand why they paired Lee Hyori and Beyoncé because of the path they tooked (debut in a group, turned to be a successful solo, sexy and confident aura, etc), but they're not the only one with this path, and they're totally different? When i was very young i thought black people were just white people who lived in countries where there was no snow during the winter and only sun like it was summer all year long, so they were very tanned...Idk how you can call a black person tanned without face palming your own stupidity when you're an adult and if korea does it as a whole...ugh...

For the new millennium Canada has Avril, Nelly, Michael Buble, Nickelback, Justin Bieber, and Drake (we also have a lot of local acts that are very successful like Hedley but it's really ot the same thing).
Avril is not an icon in Canada, where on earth did you get that idea? She had her teenage fan heyday but she's pm irrelevant there now.Her singles get radioplay but that's about it.There's a reason she pm only releases stuff for Japan now
The exact same thing can be said about BoA, except Avril is a million seller in her own country and didn't only start to be relevant after she had cracked the international market first.
These comparisons are ridiculous, esp the Beyonce one. Like, how weird? Hyorin is brown, Bey is a black woman? They've both worn pants. They're both popular. One of them is an amazing performer, the other one is slightly lucid onstage these days like...?
