I'm glad she's doing her own thing and such, but why are her prices so outrageous? I pay $32 for the jeans I buy and that's even too expensive in my eyes.

She's marketed as a luxury brand so her prices reflect that. These are honestly on the cheap end of things, you can easily pay $200+ for good brand-name denim.

Same tbh but the sailor style shirts are all the rage on Internet malls now so I'll just get a cheaper version

I'm buying a pair of shorts before they sell out. I never bought anything from GG, so might as well spend my money on something I'll use more often and support my favorite member (aside from Sunny Bunny).

Tbh the jean prices aren't bad, I expected her to put them higher. They just look like normal jeans you can get from topshop or zara, but 'designer' jeans have always been around this price range so whatever.

Her site doesn't list where the stuff are made, so I am assuming china. I mean a lot of big brands make their stuff in china, which makes sense if you want to maximize profits, but it is still a cheap move. People will still buy it obviously.

Girl 65$ for 100% cotton...

and lol the site is under maintenance.

I mean the jeans are not that expensive, investing over $100 in a good quality pair of jeans that will last you a couple of years is not weird, not sure why I would buy her brand for that price when there are plenty of other brands but then again she's milking her fanbase for whats it worth, at this point its pretty obvious.

The shirts and totes are ridiculously priced. She's a nobody **in the fashion business** but again she's just milking her fan base so she doesn't care lmao.

As someone who works in the marketing and advertising world her strategies give me a headache, they seem to work only in short term.

That's the thing though--the people most likely to buy are her fans and they don't have that kind of money since they're prolly either mostly teenagers or college students in debt. As a nobody, she would do really well to start with lower prices and then create a "higher" end like ala LC with her Kohls stuff then Paper Crown later. Also I buy $60 jeans from LOFT that have lasted 3+ years so yeah, unless you already have the money I don't think it's necessary to go looking to spend way more with the justification that it'll last longer cause there's honestly a lot of stuff that is cheaper and will already last.

i actually really like all of the clothing but i will never spend that much on clothes ever
the reason i own only one pair of jeans is bc anything that costs more than f21 denim is too expensive for me lmao

Some of these pieces are really nice, I would buy some if I had the money. I think it would be kinda cool if she went the LC route and had like B&E with high end stuff, but also designed some cheaper priced stuff for a department store.

ngl i totally would by the first jeans (both in light blue and pink) if 1; i wasn't so broke and 2; if the shipping wasn't so expensive (that is, if they even ship it over here).

Some of these are nice but :/ at the limited sizing.
And maybe it's an offshoot of my immigrant upbringing but if I ever tried to pay $100+ for jeans, my mother would have me institutionalized.

I was expecting True Religion prices so it's better than I anticipated...too bad I don't wear jeans

These are basically JCrew prices. Brands like Banana Republic are only $20 less.

All the small designer brands I can think of, check on sites like Revolve, are around this price or higher. Small designers always have to work from a higher price point since they aren't mass producing.

However this is a surprisingly good price point for her denim.

I'll have to check out the other items

Sadly for the people asking if she does make plus sizes it might be down the line. It's amazing how manufacturers price gouge in the upper sizes so many brands don't cover them

This is normal pricing for premium denim, some brands are way pricier than this.
I like the Manhattans.
Those $75 plain t-shirts tho....

I bought a new jeans for 10 bucks last week (60% off because its sale season)

/CSB

Still thinking that her stuff is too expensive for a nobody in the industry. Should have gone the root of h&m, first cheap prices and then establishing a more pricer collection

Also, does she provide exact measurements of the clothes? Shipping is fucking expensive, no ones gonna buy her stuff without knowing if it actually fits

Op, lemme guess. Your name is Whitehaven? Yalong Bay? Lol. :))

I'm content with my Target and Kohl's (Simply Vera and Rock and Republic) jeans but these look good. It seems like she knows what she's doing after all. Still somewhat ovepriced but they will sell.

hmm still plain but thank god it's the trend now lol tbh im glad that her price range is ASOS level, i hope she does well w/ jeans etc too

ASOS has a lot of stuff cheaper than this though.

At first I was gonna say that her denims are well priced, but then I realised if given the choice I'd rather buy me some high quality Nudie or Neuw jeans since they're around the same price.

mte. I also want to see what material is involved (for the shirts) and where they're made. Like I'm not gonna shell out that much for something made in China when I can go to Everlane, spend the same (or in many many cases HALF as much) and get something made in LA or Italy.

Looks good but price point too high (north of $100). If this is sustainable it needs to be more affordable to Jessica's fans...half of who I imagine still has an allowance (no shade intended).

I also wonder when she's gonna stop modeling her own clothes? I'm confused cause on one hand she wants to push it as an upscale line but on the other she prolly knows she has to continue to be associated image-wise with it or the main audience (her fans) won't buy? I'm trying to remember if Stella McCartney or even Lauren Conrad or Jessica Simpson modeled their own stuff with such frequency.

Date: 2015-06-29 02:19 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] feel-my-mind.livejournal.com
Lauren Conrad still is the main if not only model for her clothing line. I don't think I've ever seen anyone other than her as the model. Jessica Simpson models for her as well.
