BTOB to Release a Dramatized Music Video With All Members Acting



BTOB will be releasing their first “dramatized music video” for their upcoming title track, “It’s Okay.”

On June 29 at midnight KST, BTOB will be releasing a dramatized music video for “It’s Okay” through their official Youtube channel and other digital music sites. This will be their first music video where all seven members will be acting.

The music video will be in an omnibus format, with each member having their own storyline. The group has so far released the teaser video for Eunkwang, where he is seen in a library, organizing books. They also released a behind-the-scenes stills from the members’ shoots.

BTOB will be releasing “It’s Okay” this coming June 29, along with their official first album “Complete.”

BTOB’s Jung Ilhoon, Acting Debuting… Picked as Lead Role

BTOB’s member, Jung Ilhoon’ will be trying his first challenge in acting through receiving the main role in the new MBC every1 variety show drama ‘Webtoon Hero - Tundra.

One broadcast representative told OSEN on the morning of the 24th that “Jung Ilhoon has been casted as the lead role recently in the drama ‘Webtoon Hero’ and is awaiting to start filming.” Despite being extremely busy due to preparations for his new album, it has been known that he fell for the character and its story line after receiving the casting suggestion and decided to choose this role.

This drama had the popular webtoon writer KeeAn84 participate from the planning to the structure which is a first in the nation. Jung Ilhoon has received the main role of Sungmin. Also, KeeAn84 will be acting as the role of Sungmin hyung’s brother, Heemin. You are able to see a new format of a webtoon drama where the writer is able to participate in planning the broadcasted program and casting roles as well.

This drama focuses on the ordinary high school life of Sungmin and draws a story around three brothers and their father. Actor Lee Shieon and EXID’s Junghwa have also been confirmed to appear.

Jung Ilhoon, who has the abilities of writing and composing as BTOB’s rapper, has been training his variety show skills through appearing on various variety show programs including MBC every1′s ‘Weekly Idol’s. Following after the path of his fellow member Yook Sungjae, who is becoming a trend after finishing KBS2 drama ‘Who Are You: School 2015′, Jung Ilhoon is garnering intersting over whether or not he will also be able to show talents in acting.

Meanwhile, ‘Webtoon Hero-Tundra Show’ will start broadcasting in July.

Yook Sungjae Not Ready for Laser Hair Removal on “We Got Married”



BTOB’s Yook Sungjae and Red Velvet’s Joy are set to have their second meeting on MBC’s “We Got Married.”

The new couple meet for their second date at a dermatologist’s office in Seoul. A charmingly straightforward Joy then expresses her happiness at meeting with Yook Sunjae again, saying, “You look really cute today,” and “I missed you.”

Yook Sungjae, on the other hand, is as nervous as the first time the two met and doesn’t know quite what to do. He then asks Joy what what they are doing meeting in a dermatology clinic, to which Joy hints that people often visit water parks in the summer time.

At that moment, Yook Sungjae realizes that he is there for laser hair removal. Saying he is not ready, a flustered Yook Sungjae begins to nervously rub his legs.

Fans can catch the full second meeting of Yook Sungjae and Joy when “We Got Married” airs on June 27 at 5 p.m. KST.

CeCi: I heard that you were recording for the album before coming to today’s photoshoot as well. Isn’t it tiring?

Sungjae: It’s still not to the point of fainting. (Laughter) We filmed 6 times a week for the drama ‘School 2015: Who Are You’. For the one day of rest, there were a BTOB schedule or a variety show appearance, so it was common that I wouldn’t be able to sleep, but it was still bearable. My dad would always give me good advice through Kakaotalk, but the words that gave me the most strength were ‘If you smile, then at least five people around you will become happier, and if you’re sad, then five people will become sad.’ There’s nothing that will change if I complain. It’s become a daily thing to work, so if I’m not happy with that daily thing, then I become someone who can never be happy. That’s why I stay strong to make sure I enjoy it when working. Also, since there are many people looking for me these days, I want to run forth rather than rest.

CeCi: The fact that you have a lot of schedules can also be proof that you have become the trend. Can you feel your popularity?

Sungjae: I haven’t been able to feel it. When I go out to meet friends, people do recognize me, but I still haven’t really felt a huge response. But it may also be that since all I’ve done recently are filmings, I’m normally just in the filming sets.

CeCi: Like the nickname of ‘Yook Jalddo’ (T/N: Yook handsome weirdo) says, we know you as the always cheerful personality, but how do you endure through times that are tiring like lately?

Sungjae: I have been enjoying listening to Im Jaebum senior’s song ‘This, Too, Shall Pass’. (Laughter) It feels like something clears up. I also feel like my worries about the future disappear too. Whatever it may be, I try to resolve it through songs, whether I sing or listen to it.

CeCi: You became a hot topic after appearing on MBC’s ‘Mask King’. When looking gradually from your debut days till now, I feel like your vocal abilities really improved.

Sungjae: Rather than say that my singing improved, I think that I have become more full of emotion. After constantly listening to songs of seniors that I like, I think a depth has been formed too. Also, when I sing lately, I do it with the thought of singing with the singing method that I’m most comfortable with. That’s why I think it improved naturally.

CeCi: A video of you singing Jung Joonil’s ‘Confession’ has become a hot topic on the internet again.

Sungjae: My singing abilities aren’t great nor is my vocalization on the good side. I just love and enjoy songs, so I change my emotions to fit the song and sing it like i’m just humming to it. I think those things became my positive points.

CeCi: What are some things that changed after appearing on ‘Mask King’?

Sungjae: Although I would like to definitely receive acknowledgement from the public, I wanted to receive acknowledgement from my BTOB hyungs. They probably worried a lot since the youngest was going out on a program where singing abilities are important. Wondering things like will our youngest be able to do well. So the thought that I want to show them that I can also do well was really big.

CeCi: I heard that you were someone suited for the stage, but the burden was probably still large.

Sungjae: I also thought that I was someone suited for the stage till now, but the nervousness that I felt was beyond my imagination. Besides what a singer displays through their sounds on stage, they also play-in acting with emotions through their expressions or gestures. However, since I have to cover that with a mask and can only be judged by my voice, the pressure I felt was really enormous. Along with that, since it was at a period where it hadn’t been long since the drama started, I didn’t have much time to prepare for it either. At first, I was nervous to the point where I couldn’t even speak, but as I saw the expressions of the audience, I gradually gained strength from it and sang. To be honest, Kim Dongryul senior’s ‘Thank You’ has been a song that I sang every day since a long time ago.

CeCi: Following the drama ‘Plus Nine boys’, you have been receiving a lot of love through your role of Gong Taekwang in ‘School 2015: Who Are You’. What are your thoughts?

Sungjae: I’m really thankful towards Sohyun who brought me up as a one-top really well. Actually, it felt that I was piggybacking on Sohyun’s back. Also, to be honest, I still can’t feel anything. I also have the thought that questions whether or not I’m really doing this drama right now or if it’s okay for me to receive so much of this love.

CeCi: While watching yesterday’s broadcast, I screamed. Right at the line that goes ‘When I’m with you’. (Laughter) It was really a one step difference from ‘direct’ and ‘greasy’.

Sungjae: I’m glad. If you don’t express lines like that well, then it can become something really cheesy. I put in a lot of effort in order to make it direct. I’m still lacking a lot, but I’m really thankful since people around me have been telling me a lot of good words. My responsibility towards the thought of wanting to show a more improving side to myself is gradually becoming larger.

CeCi: Is there anything specific you prepared when receiving the role of ‘Gong Taekwang’?

Sungjae: Taekwangie is someone who is unable to control his anger and has a lot of scars that he has received from his parents. However, he tries to not show those points from the outside and wants to receive attention from others as he makes accidents with a smiling face. I’ve seen a lot of movies related to where characters like him appear. The movie ‘Mommy’ where a boy with anger controlling problems is the main characters, ‘Temptation of Wolves’ where Kang Dongwon senior’s acting left an impression, and the Japanese animation, ‘Assassination Classroom’, where a character that bothers other people in a genius way appears. Also, I’ve seen the previous series ‘School 2013′ three times.

CeCi: The real school life of Yook Sungjae was probably filled with practicing and promotions in the entertainment industry, but do you have any regrets?

Sungjae: I have none at all. Rather, if I was to be born again, I think I would start my trainee days just a bit earlier.

CeCi: Even so, if you were able to go back, what’s the thing you want to do the most?

Sungjae: If I was able to go back, I think I would live even more diligently than I do now. I’ve only recently been feeling that it’s just a bit difficult. At the time, I thought that it was still difficult in its own way, but I’ve only realized now what being difficult really is.

CeCi: Wow, that’s really an amazing spirit. Almost as if repaying you for that passion, Gong Taekwang is shaking the hearts of girls these days, but if you could pick a line that you thought was cool even from your view, what would it be?

Sungjae: The lines that Taekwangie does would have been cool even if it someone else that wasn’t me would say them. Personally, I think the scenes where he would act like he doesn’t take care, but really does care for were cool. Subtly taking care like where he would mix her black bean noodles or rip apart crab meat for her.

CeCi: What’s the real Yook Sungjae like?

Sungjae: I also want to become a guy that subtly takes care, but I’m not that great at ripping apart crab meat or mixing black bean noodles. However, my heart is full of the want to do it. (Laughter)

CeCi: In the drama, Sohyun appears as two types through playing the role of twins. If you were to pick your type between the chic Eunbyul or the sweet Eunbi, who would it be?

Sungjae: This topic also came up at the drama set as well. For looks, I like the style of Eunbyul that’s chic and has a sexy feel, so I told Sohyun that I liked Eunbyul more at first, but since I have a lot of scenes with Eunbi, I like the friend-like Eunbi more now.

CeCi: Since it’s a set with a lot of people around your age, the drama set was probably always loud.

Sungjae: We were loud to the point where the staff hyungs would say let’s at least be quiet for 30 seconds. (Laughter)

CeCi: Who did you become the closest with among the actors?

Sungjae: Although I’m friends with all of them, I would have to say actress Jo Soohyang noona. Soohyang noona, who appears as the antagonist role ‘Kang Soyoung’, is very energetic and funny. She’s the mood maker.

CeCi: There isn’t much left till the last episode now. What has this drama left to Yook Sungjae?

Sungjae: Before this, I wanted to just look cool whenever I stood in front of the drama, but I was able to put some of that down now. Because of that, I think I’m shown a bit more naturally and comfortably. Since I did this together with actors who are normally very talented, I think my acting skills also improved.

CeCi: Also, you started the variety show, ‘We Got Married’. What are your thoughts on the first filming?

Sungjae: I’m very careful about this because my fans will be sad. However, I put in a lot of effort in order to show my charms. During the first meeting, I was so nervous that my heart felt like it was going to explode. I’m really shy and I’m definitely not the type of lead first. I’m normally the style to slowly get to know someone after spending time with them, but since we got married as soon as we met. (Laughter) I really didn’t know where I should start from and what to do. However, if the viewers enjoy watching it, then I am content with that.

CeCi: Where is Latvia?

Sungjae: It’s a nation under Russia, but they say that it’s a very quiet place without many tourists and seems like a picture. I want to go with my 95-line friends. We’re always setting up plans.

CeCi: Who is in the 95-line?

Sungjae: Boyfriend’s twins, Youngmin - Kwangmin and Minwoo, Teen Top’s Ricky, C-Clown’s TK, and BTS’ V and Jimin. Before starting the drama, we were close to the point where we would meet a week in a week. I first approached them because I wanted to become friends solely with the reason that they were born in 1995. Since we all don’t drink, we play healthily. Going bowling, going to the PC room, and going to tasty restaurants. Although we fool around and play every day, we become serious when listening to each other’s worries. Since we’re doing the same type of job, there are many areas that we agree on with. When we have schedules, we usually meet at night and play till the morning, but we still meet even if we have a morning schedule the next day. My wish is to do a reality show together.

CeCi: Is there something you want to definitely achieve with your friends in your 20′s?

Sungjae: I want to become a person with enough influence that you are able to feel an emptiness when I’m not there. To those around me and to the public.

CeCi: From now on, what kind of person do you hope to be remembered as by the public?

Sungjae: The oppa next door, a person that’s friendly like a dongsaeng.

CeCi: I think you’re too good-looking for a next door oppa?

Sungjae: It’s possible for the oppa next door to be good-looking. (Laughter)

BTOB Announces Season Two of Reality Show “The Beat” With New Teaser

As part of their summer comeback, BTOB will be releasing a new season of their behind-the-scenes reality show “The Beat“!

Last year, the guys starred in the first season of “The Beat,” which featured the group’s various hilarious exploits. It showed them preparing for their shows, playing games, goofing around in their dressing room, as well as commentating on videos of their concerts. Overall, it was a great opportunity for fans to see what the guys are like offstage.

The new season of “The Beat” is said to be even better than the first. It will start on July 1, and will air on Wednesdays at 11 a.m KST on Naver Starcast. On June 25, a teaser was released that shows the members holding up signs that when combined read “BTOB – The Beat.”

BTOB will be dropping their first full-length album “Complete” at midnight on June 29.

I think Sungjae was joking, he was forcing Jimin to call him "hyung" but Jimin refused and called him sunbae instead (which is correct and appropriate) that's also why he said "Don't make me angry" lol (also with the greet me well thing lolol).
