You can follow the gorgeous ex-idol guitarist, vocalist, frontwoman and newly-minted leader Lee Ji In at leejiin_33! (but be careful though if you have a fear of needles/surgical equipment as her second most recent picture is...idk, her getting electrolysis or something? I am not medically versed. I think she injured her knee recently which is why they haven't been busking as much as they did last year)
Ji in's instagram friends include T-ara's Jiyeon (whose instagram Ji In featured on before), the Kiss&Cry girls, Lip Service's Bipa and members of The Nuts.


You can follow stunning ulzzang, multi-instrumentalist and moonlighting actress & rapper Ayeon (real name Sung Hyo Jin which I only just found out) at ayeon3131 (good luck catching a post though). Ayeon's instagram approval is harder to win, as she only follows four people. #clcopycat

You can also find adorable rock-voiced, unfortunately-hairstyled-while-she-grows-it-out-i-guess, bass guitarist & maknae Juwoo at xxjw.sxx (or so people seem 99% sure) but her instagram approval is even harder to win and it's private. She has a Kristen Stewart icon though which is adorable.

Ayeon is in the second series of Always Cantare! I can find literally nothing about it (and I don't think anyone's going to sub the full thing). Being less-known than her co-stars she doesn't exactly get much publicity either. She's in these two promo videos (again, unsubbed) though, and she'll be in the percussion section (of course).

I'll be keeping a keen eye out for if she makes a cameo in any of Henry/Jaekyung's sections as they seem to each have a subber sort-of-interested in the show.

Did my three fellow resident Bebop fans miss me? I thought I'd make this a minor pimp post since I've been at this for a while now. Isn't Ayeon's new hair amazing? I kind of near-fainted when I saw it (back when it was dark with red highlights, omg. brown is good too though). Ayeon's improved so much, I still can't believe she learned the drums in 1-2 years in order for Bebop to be able to debut, she looks & sounds so much better than when they first started sending her out on solo performances. I might make an Always Cantare post if I can find more stuff because there's some other idol faces in it (i.e Sonamoo's Euijin, Rainbow's Jaekyung).

Ayeon is so cool though, I really enjoyed her drumming at the Yamaha festival thing!

I googled Always Cantare (and added Henry's name in hopes of yielding more results lol) and this (http://www.soompi.com/2015/04/22/henry-and-b-i-gs-benji-confirmed-for-always-cantare-season-2/) is what I got.

Shame idc about anyone else on there that I know of (well I like Henry's violin playing but I've seen it many times now so) because it sounds pretty awesome. Anyways glad Ayeon's on there.

I don't follow Beop well but I dig them so looking forward to their future stuff.

I knew what always cantare was which is why i'd love to watch it (piano student here) but it seems i'll have to learn korean first, lol. it's so great ayeon gets to be on it with such big stars, hopefully it gives bebop a nice profile boost

Yeah I have my classical-music/orchestra-junkie moments due to me having studied music and piano + being a Nodame Cantabile fan lol so this seems good, sucks about the lack of subs. I'd like a profile boost too, female bands need some more love in Korea and not just in the indie scene.

oooh i watched nodame too. i didn't actually enjoy it until about 10 episodes in but i loved having a weekly monologue of the main character gushing over some classical piece or another, and i picked up so many pieces that i want to study (and don't have large enough hands for lol).
if the wonder girls do come back as a band i wonder what that might mean for other girl bands. i mean i know they're past their 'peak' and it won't do as well as they have done before but maybe it'll point a few more people towards that style of group.

Anime or J-drama? I liked how much they actually talked about and looked into some classical stuff. Saaame, it got me interested in a lot of pieces but I've only managed to try out a few of them sadly :( my hands are annoyingly small for piano gaah, I always have to do arpeggio crap for chords with large intervals lol. I listen to the OST often, really nice.

Who knows. Like FTI and CNB got big for being idol bands and the public praises them for being different and all, but not even their fame has really helped other idol guy bands who have flopped (their new hoobae band N.flying are liked okay but had a lackluster debut). With WG being more iconic and loved by the public their influence might be greater which would be good but people are already split about them playing as a band so hmm.

Mm, I was more thinking along the lines of girl bands, because CNB and FTI stand out so much because of what they are but there's been no real female equivalent (and it's like FNC didn't even try with AOA tbh, considering they were always mostly idols literally from the beginning). But yeah in the meantime just thinking about WG alone is enough, they have enough things up against them right now (the amount of time they've been away, not being five members, being a band, etc) without me hoping against hope that they might mildly change a few trends in the music industry.

Ahhh I got confused, I've /watched/ the Korean one (which is called Naeil's Cantabile, in which for me the comedy fell entirely flat but I did enjoy a few of the side actors) but I've /read/ the manga (I'm definitely going to try the J-drama though because I prefer live action for literally everything except for like, Fullmetal Alchemist). And yes, ugh, I've been through such a bad time lately of just not loving what I do that it was so great to be surrounded by enthusiasm (especially when you know, like, it's not ~cool~ to be enthusiastic about your studies so I didn't get much of that in real life uni). And it's also so great because while there's great orchestral moments, it basically revolves around the piano so it talks so much about that, I love it. And I'm also totally down with the 'the authentic performance movement isn't /that/ great' theme so I love the way that's addressed through Nodame vs the world.

Yeah I know, what I (think I) was trying to say that if fti/cnb couldn't help certain out certain guy bands then WG being able to help certain girl bands like Bebop and AOA's band unit (who were indeed half-asses from the beginning) will be a challenge too - but I do have hope since they're WG <3

Sorry I usually only think of the JPE versions ahah but it makes sense to me now that you meant Naeil Cantabile since Ayeon was in it! (Who did she play anyways? A new character or like the Kdrama equivalent of Son Rui???) I only tried the first few episodes, not terrible like I'd thought it be (and I was so set on hating it tbh) with some changes I actually liked but a lot of other changes were eh. The J-drama plus the specials + movies are definitely good - not perfect (specials and movies in particular kinda rushed and choppy because more material cut out and condensed) but one of the better manga live-action adaptations, the series overall just handles the topic of music (plus the ups of downs) quite well. omg I'm gonna ramble too much about this series soon I needa stop lol, but music animes/mangas have a soft spot in my heart :b

yeah i'm ngl i didn't pay much attention to it until i was scrolling the bebop tag on tumblr and found an ayeon cut and then i was like 'i will watch this entire thing for ayeon' because that is obviously a logical reaction. she plays a similar character to that (except they never go to a french conservatiore, it was only 16 episodes long), she takes a liking to the chiaki character but there's no insecurity or jealousy or whatever, she's just a well-established child prodigy who comes off very cold & is brought in to perform with chiaki's orchestra but ends up opening up a little and giving chiaki some advice. her acting is a little flat :D but the character itself wasn't exactly 3-dimensional so she's fine, her role was essentially to swan in looking gorgeous and terrifying and she did that well. i think she pops up around episode 11? i think i was annoyed by the two mains but i liked all the side characters (except for streseman who i literally cannot stand in any iteration), particularly the saku character (whose story is changed a little just to make her family poor in general rather than because of her father) and ryutaro who annoyed me at first but i warmed up to him.
