but i c a n n o t at '01 somi and '02 natty performing who's your mama jfc. where are the somi stans who were lamenting minor b's performance of the way you love me lmao? when the cameraman zoomed in somi and mina's butts i was horrified. this is exactly why i don't want them to debut. somi has stage presence but she still sucks at singing and she's not a particularly good singer. but i have a feeling she'll be in anyway, sigh. and stop showing her dad! he's not cute!

The fact that Somi's dad was in the audience made the performance way more squicky for me, too. Like if Somi were my child I would have been pretty vocal about how inappropriate that all was for 13 and 14 y/os to be doing

minor b is at a HUGE disadvantage, skill/talent-wise (three weakest not including tzuyu), popularity-wise, and even language-wise, considering that even though somi is half-korean, she still seems to be unsure with her korean. the other two aren't even native. i have no idea what jyp was even thinking when he put that group together.

when natty went down to minor and jyp was just like "the unnies didn't really vote for you. you should reflect on that" i was like "way harsh tai" because i'm pretty sure 1) they barely know the girl and 2) momo clouding their judgments? i mean it was the right decision, but the way he said it??? at least he told dahyun people voted for her. lying is better than making it out to be all her fault. "you should reflect on this" is horrible to say to a 13 year old who was a mostly unwilling participant of your drama

i'm so glad i get jihyo & chaeyoung in the same team. i was losing hope. we can only hope for jihyo/chaeyoung/jiwon aka music to my ears

if i had to agree with a lineup that's happened so far, this would be it. i'd still swap jungyeon/minyoung/tzuyu out for jiwon, but if i HAD to stick with a lineup?? yeah. though i think that jungyeon is kind of over-hyped and not as talented as she's made out to be....her high note in hands up isn't good at all :( but tzuyu is just a nice personality....there's nobody else aside from jiwon who i'd really want in twice (momoooo). maybe dahyun. chaeryeong and somi are adorable but they're 5 and they and natty and chaeyeon and eunsuh will be fine in jyp's next girl group in 2 years' time. and i love mina, i think she's super pretty and i like her personality, and i would have loved to have japanline in twice, but tbh it's getting to the point where i can't justify it ;_;

last thing: dailymotion has a new player out and it had better be better than this one because this one SUCKS. it took me 1 hour and 45 minutes to watch this 1 hour-long episode, just as it does every week (it takes me 10 minutes to watch 3 min mvs....)

yeah the whole way the groups are put together does not seem right and i agree about the voting thing like in the first place how are you basically gonna put actual kids up against young adults in terms of their maturity and character like what 13 yo is even thinking yet about their values and how they treat people? there's so many reasons the younger girls shouldn't even be there

i also think that the babies just voted for their favourite unnies/the ones who look after them the most. what else were they going to do? the whole thing about the trainees who were there the longest getting the most votes was ridiculous. straight-up popularity contest, even if i mostly agree with the outcome

i thought the groups were weirdly put together the first time but at least there was minyoung and jihyo in their groups to kind of improve the talent. minor b doesn't have that. i haven't seen their perf but from the sounds of things they do terribly, with a super sexed-up song, and they're (just) 13, 14 and 18 years old....i don't know why they didn't pick something cuter or more suitable for their age instead of drawing attention to just how young they are :| it makes no sense, and sometimes i wonder if this is orchestrated by the show's creators & jyp too

maybe jyp is deliberately looking for reasons to get rid of the girls on minor b who were seemingly the girls with the least votes????

i have no idea what's genuine and what isn't on these shows but i guess people have sat by in the industry and watched children being sexualised for a long time.

i wouldn't be surprised. i don't think even he knows what he's doing this show is just such a mess :\ he doesn't seem like all that bad a person this whole thing is just stupidly set up and shouldn't have happened in the first place

i agree....i always wonder who has the most control with these things. there were people in previous posts who hypothesised jyp giving more control to mnet than yg for example

jyp seems like a nice guy, but at the same time i think he's a little....naive? inexperienced? trusting? i'm not entirely sure what word i'm looking for. but basically he's giving too much faith to the audience and the public with this girl group. popularity contests may be how you get popular, but if you have no talent and a lack of good music, you won't get anywhere in this business. i think his focus on personality over talent is inadvisable and definitely too grownup a concept for the babies (as you stated in your long comment yourself)

i also wonder if it isn't a ploy to get rid of three girls at the same time; there are only two eps left and somehow he has to lose 4-7 girls (depending on eventual group size). i think somi's mostly only popular with the international fans, natty's a baby and i love mina but none of the girls are particularly popular with the other girls in sixteen (mina got a couple of votes but probably like...1/2), so it would make sense that to eliminate a whole group it would be the least popular ones put together in a group deliberately designed to make them fail (cynical but realistic??? idk)
if he eliminated the whole group at one time in the next ep and the rest of the minors in the final ep, i could just about see it working /rolls eyes

jihyo is debut-ready and damn if minyoung doesn't have a lovely voice though i'd prefer jiwon in the group over her plus minyoung still seems to struggle with being on stage. also was sana's singing always this bad? i love her but 2/3 of these girls are only just scraping the bare-minimum singing ability people should have in a kpop group, and few of them really excel at anything else to make up for it. :\

half the hush performance was out of tune ouch. it was nice to hear the girls thought so highly of nayeon as she also shows professionalism on stage and actually looks like she's having fun. i like her a lot. this show makes me think of how sm have bi-weekly (?) on-stage assessments and i wonder if jyp does the same because most of the girls seem totally new to being on stage and lack a lot of confidence. they just need so much more practice. jungyeon seems like one of those people whose singing is hit-or-miss each performance but i liked her personality... i'm just side-eyeing her since that comment about jihyo's weight sigh. tzuyu is lovely but mediocre as hell talent-wise

jiwon has a lovely tone but idk how suited she is to fast-paced pop music tbh... chaeryeong was surprisingly good it's a shame she's so young
i only liked dahyun for her dancing (which i loved) as is the case with a few of these girls but when is dancing ability ever utilized in girl groups honestly. twice had better have miss a-level choreo but i'm honestly not sure what kind of an image jyp is going for and what with keeping all the kids around and already having a group like miss a i wonder if he's gonna go down the cutesy route as others have mentioned...

the who's your mama performance was as nightmarish as everyone else made it out to be. natty's voice is seriously uncomfortable to listen to. at least the minor and major teams seem to be arranged due to talent at last.

so basically idk why this show exists. there's such a weird talent gap amongst these girls and it's just another reason the younger ones shouldn't be there. you can really feel this whole thing was just thrown together after 6mix fell apart. most of them desperately need at least another year of training and one of the few who didn't is already gone. idk why on earth jyp brought up momo's singing when she was actually better than quite a few of these girls. it would've been ideal if the girls who've been there for longer debuted together, there was a team japan dance-based group and the rest of the girls continued to train for a few years but oh well. let's see how this works out.

I don't think Tell Me was the best song choice for Team Ji/Da/Chae. Iconic value aside, it's just sort of... linear and repetitive and didn't have too much impact imo. A higher energy song w/ more striking vocal points and room for Jiwon to do adlibs would have showcased their strengths better imo.

after watching ep 8, all i can see is that he really IS going to eliminate all of minor at once. ugh :(

it's sooooo badly put together and it's like they don't care about the girls' feelings at all; they're just doing it to cause drama. some of these are just kids, and it's so unnecessary to do this to them when they're this young. they had no idea what they were going into when they were selected for this programme

Everyone needs more vocal training. And they're all passable as far as dancing goes, but damn I don't see anyone who's debut ready when I was watching these performances (tho maybe Jihyo).

I really liked the performances...
I feel like this show just does not mesh well with what being an idol really is. First off the show pretty much started with the group being predominantly dancers, then the polls are mostly visuals. Like I seriously doubt JYP is going to debut a group that is nothing but pretty girls with an all around average skillset. He seems to vain to do that. Yet we are acting like talent means all that much considering there are groups where the least talent is by far more popular then the more talented people. Like...eh I'm not going to get into that.
Tbh I feel like there are certain people we don't need to worry about: Jihyo, Jungyeon, and Nayeon have pretty much earned their spots in my opinion. Sana also seems like a shoe in, but I have started to find her as a talent mediocre. But she has shown to have the personality that most lack, so why not. Chaeyoung is another one I can see making it, but I feel like people keep pushing her against Dahyun...and it's unfortunate because Chaeyoung just seems like the better option in practically every way. She is even popular (she was in the top 7 on the polls, and I think she is back in now).
Outside of those five I can't see for myself any other solid spots. Minyoung has not done the best through the competition and isn't really liked. Dahyun has the fanbase to bring in, but overall...she hasn't been on it since episode 1. Tzuyu and Mina seem ready (enough); I like Mina's voice more, but Tzuyu looks more engaging. I am almost certain there is going to be a foreign member quota, and only one of them is going to make it. Outside of the final/youngest three...I really see it for Chaeryeong. To be honest she could easily debut in the group, and fit in (At least in my opinion), but no one really sees it for her. I feel like she could snatch a spot though.
Somi has a lot of fire, but she definitely needs some (a lot) refinement. She was the best thing about that WYM performance, and with more training, she could kill. Natty is just like Somi. She got a spark, but she need to head back to the training room.
But like I said, I feel like five of them are 100% safe (in Chaeyoung's case like 85-90%). Those other spots are up for grabs.

I love the camping scenes so much. It’s nice seeing the girls get a break from the stressful survival situation. I also love the camping scenes because I got to see more of the girl’s personalities. Nayeon is slowly but surely growing on me again (I loved her initially but her constant side-eyes during missions got on my nerves). The guessing game was really cute. I love how frustrated Nayeon got when her team was losing/she couldn’t guess things. And the water game was hilarious. I died when Sana ended up pushing herself into the water.

The elimination round wasn’t as cutthroat as I thought it would be. I thought JYP was going to ask the girls to pick the next eliminated member, but asking them to vote for the members with the best personalities was a nice twist. I swear Nayeon and Dahyun switching places was Karma for all of the times I called Nayeon shady and praised Dahyun for her genuine personality lol. I was also sad to see Somi fall to Minor, but Major still has five of my faves so I’m happy with the way things turned out (especially since there was no elimination).

I groaned when JYP announced yet another Team Battle. I love all four members of Major A (Jihyo, Minyoung, Sana, and Chaeyoung) so I will be pissed if they lose. Same with Minor A. I’m worried that Minor B may have difficulty promoting themselves due to possible language/culture barriers. IDC about Major B (minus Tzuyu) tbh. XD
