Plot:
Lee Eun-bi lives at the orphanage Love's House in Tongyeong, South Gyeongsang Province, where younger residents look up to her as a mother figure. They don't know that she's friendless at her school and viciously bullied by a posse of mean girls led by Kang So-young, while teachers turn a blind eye.
On the other hand, Go Eun-byul is the most popular girl at Segang High School, the most prestigious private high school in Seoul's Gangnam District. Eun-byul's best friends are Cha Song-joo and Lee Shi-jin, and she shares a mutual attraction with Han Yi-an, the school's star swimmer. But Eun-byul has secrets, including one involving a girl named Jung Soo-in.
Eun-bi and Eun-byul look exactly alike, but only Eun-byul is aware of the other's existence.
One day, on a school field trip to Tongyeong, Eun-byul mysteriously disappears. At the same time, Eun-bi gets unjustly expelled from her school and transfers to Segang. Injured and amnesic, Eun-Bi is mistaken for her doppelgänger Eun-Byul, she starts living the latter's charmed life unaware of the secrets the prestigious school held.

Eunbi NEVER showed any interest in Taekwang outside of friendship so the dramatics of Taekwang's fans are really starting to annoy me.

Eun Byul also never showed any interest in Yi An beyond friendship.

Eun Byul was the best thing about this drama..I wish Eunbi could have served that heifer So Young some humble pie too but that's not her personality....but even So Young acknowledges the awesomeness of Unni Eunbyul LOL

Taekwang was REALLY irking me with that last confession...HOW MANY TIMES MUST SHE REJECT YOU

All the people attacking Eunbi for not liking Taekwang were REALLY annoying. No one owes anyone any feelings

I think the problem with the shippers lies in all the bad writing (in terms of the romance). It's obvious YA is supposed to be end game, but the writer spends most of the drama making Eunbyul-YA OTP (since age 6) and having TK being the only person who truly knows~ Eunbi.

Hate to say I told you so, but I actually don't and I did.

I read the netizenbuzz reactions and I don't know how anyone is surprised that it ended the way it did. EB2xTK hasn't been a viable love line for weeks. I'm seriously glad School 2015 is over so I don't have to hear how TK was more entitled to be loved than YA for the umpteenth time. If that had been a less popular guy, he'd be a creep who can't take no for an answer. Chemistry is a made up word, cause I felt like he was making EB2 uncomfortable with all of his subsequent gestures after that first confession and rejection, cause her face looked like what I imagine mine looks like when I'm trying to let someone down easy again.

God forbid the girl should end up with the guy she likes (who is a standup guy) and not take pity on the "friendzoned" one for being oh so nice. What a terrible drama. #WhyINeedFeminism

i was thinking of starting this now that it's over

for those who watched both school 2013 and 2015, how was this compared 2 2013?

a love line is making me tentative bc i thought one of the best parts of 2013 was that there were no love lines :/ and it's sounding like yet another underwritten love triangle ala Reply 1994, judging by the reactions...

I wish this drama focused more on.. well.. school. My favorite parts were with teacher kim

OST was on point! kim so hyun was fierce as eunbyul.

it really dragged at the end though. the main reason why i couldn't get on this whole eunbi/yiahn ship was because i could not, for the life of me, pinpoint the moment yi ahn realized his feelings for her. was it when he was staring at his medals?? and why?? i mean, theoretically, i get it -- she pushed him to be better, and she's a kind and understanding girl but... i feel like it was so sudden and it was all just a mess bleh. they're cute though..? at least they're happy

anyway i'm just glad eunbi is with a loving family and that's all that matters. mom and teacher kim were awesome, i wanted more teacher kim x taekwang (they're the real OTP lets be real)

This show was a predictable #mess from start to finish lol

The only consolation price was Eunbyul going MMA on the bully and Eunbi being all "I need to focus on myself" (although that only lasted like 5 minutes lol). Also: team MOM, she was a hbic from start to finish.

I'm actually watching the last episode right now. I was never interested in the romance aspect of the show so I hate that they spent so much time on the love triangle. Like it was so completely unnecessary. Especially the fucking wrist grabbing.

Kim So Hyun killed her roles though. She is so amazing. Also good for Sungjae for getting so popular because of this drama.

The intense shipping really took a toll on my viewing experience. Smh at some netizens who went on to send hate comments on Nam Joo Hyuk's insta in the past days. He left a really heartfelt post yesterday though, hope he continues to grow. Also, it's so many levels of wrong and insensitive to go naming a character YiCancer.

I am satisfied with the ending since Eun Bi clearly liked Yi Ahn all along, and he also realised she was the person he wanted to spend time with and give his feelings to.

IMO the writers really messed up in some aspects:
- Excessive man handling by both male leads;
- Making GTK confess *3* times in the last 4 episodes and be clearly rejected in all, with the last one happening in the last half hour of the drama. Like, why???
- Putting Yi Ahn in the backburner in pretty much the entire second half of the drama and killing his character development.

This so much. The message Nam Joo Hyuk left made me feel so bad for him. I mean he wasn't even THAT bad. The writing did Yi Ahn's character so dirty just to bait with the damn love triangle.

It really made no sense to me why they had GTK confess so many times only to not listen at all. He tells her that he'll let her go and not even 30 seconds later he's like "nevermind!" They spent so much time on that last confession. Time that could've been used to show/flesh out how Eunbi, or any other character really, regains her confidence and what not.

She's holding Han Yi An's hand in the poster. I figured he would get the girl, I just didn't think I would dislike him so much by the 10th episode. Good job to Sungjae for making his character so likable despite the writing's best efforts.

Frankly, this was some sloppy regressive writing. I was kind of upset that Eun Byul barely stands up for herself near the end. She changes so little and yet gains so much. She's perfect and polite from beginning to end. Perfect Cinderella.

You can tell production was reluctant to do the production/editing work necessary to have the twins in same room. Why bother if you're not going to follow through (they should have just left one dead). Haley Mill's The Parent Trap looked less stiff than the 3 scenes they had here.

I really really really disliked the romance aspect in this. It dragged and dragged and dragged. I still can't believe that it still wasn't resolved until the final few minutes of the last fricking episode. At first I didn't mind YiAhn at all, but he was such a nonentity for such a long time (and I don't like the way he treated EunBi at one point), until he suddenly woke up and apparently realized he had feelings for EunBi. It should've been way better developed. I would've preferred it if that storyline had ended wit EunBi saying she needed some time for herself. Taekwang confessing over and over was also not a good look.

And what is with EunByul going abroad lol? So out of left field too!. She, and her relationship with EunBi, was this show's biggest strength and they just pushed that aside to focus on that stupid love triangle. At least we got to see Eun |Byul kicking ass.

Kudos to Kim So Hyun tho. It was really amazing how she managed to make the twins so distinct. It really was like watching an entirely different person every time one of the twins showed up. She's turning out to be a great actress.

I get frustrated when I think what this drama could have become, awesome sisterhood, the four girls bonding, more backround on the other pupils...the start was so nicely done, but the last two weeks kind of destroyed that :/

Date: 2015-06-18 07:41 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] winegums.livejournal.com
Meh, mechanical and boring love line triumphed in the end since Yi Ahn was the designated ~main~ male lead all along and YG would prob throw a fit if he wasn't allowed to get the girl. Not that I rooted for the other ship either but jesus sometimes I wish kdrama writers could actually just go with the flow and not just write story points like they are checking off boxes. Like School 2013 and its decision to totally ditch love lines.......

and FUCK THIS DRAMA FOREVER for sending Queen Eun Byul away. Like wtf, EB2 literally just steps into EB10's old life at the end but with her own name. That "I gotta go study abroad" has to be the most awkward use of the Put Them On A Bus trope, ever.

Even though there are love interests still, I'm glad we get the older sibling protecting the main character instead. I think it's nice for a change and it was so touching? I just wish bamf! Eun Byul came back earlier in the show for more scenes of sister bonding and shenanigans and sigh. the show could have been so much more...w/o the romance plot.

The editing was so choppy in the last ep. It's like cram all the resolutions into the last 15 minutes. >.>

Kim So Hyun is a good actress playing two people. I didn't get the back-of-my-mind thing in my head that it was actually just one person. I totally liked Eun Byul more though, not that I dislike Eun Bi. I'm gonna miss watching these two.
