omonatheydidit's been a pretty... eventful week in the shinee world in terms of shenanigans via the members (mostly jonghyun, key and minho). so, here we go... (image heavy behind the cut. just a forewarning.)
translation: what is this?

jonghyun, then, mentioned the... situation on his radio show about an hour after everything took place: "i was sleeping at the broadcast station and minho and key took a photo that gave fans… a great laugh. i personally saw that photo and the members were like: “ha ha~, we took a photo~” but i didn’t know that they uploaded it. my mom then sent me a photo of it and i was like: “what is this …”. i should have taken photos of how they are usually but, because i couldn’t, i took revenge by using their old photographs."
it's worthy of it's own mention.
shinee are going to take over as the advertising models for the shilla duty free department stores throughout south korea. they're also set to finish their promotions this coming sunday (june 21st) on inkigayo after five weeks. that brings to an end a very, very successful promotional cycle (despite the lack of hype from sm), ie: their album took the first place spot on gaon's monthly chart for the month of may with 165k copies sold. this makes it their best selling album in it's first month in their seven years since debut, the fact that these sales were accumulated in only two weeks is even more impressive. their title track, "view", is also continuing to hold on in the top fifteen of seven digital charts a month after release (still being in the top ten and five on some charts). congrats on the successful promotions~.

if you open up the photos in another tag they should be bigger / easier to read! basically, the outcome of this, according to fan accounts, was minho teasing jonghyun at the prerecording of the music show they had just after (music bank, iirc) for having to pay for it all because he's the oldest and onew laughing at them / saying that that was the reason why he bailed on going. (ie: he didn't want to have to pay for all of them, lmao)
so, key uploaded this to his weibo account after on june 13th. hilarity ensued. fandom (and nonfandom) was incredibly amused. they flat out admitted to it being a "recreation" of the creation of adam. fans waited for jonghyun to bite back but nothing came. they eventually gave up but then, earlier today (or late on june 15th kst), he finally found out about it being uploaded:

I almost screamed when I saw that they've been #10-11 for several hours on melon today (yersterday in SK). I thought they were going to drop to the 20s now it's their 5th week already but they keep doing great. Very VERY few male idol groups aside from Big Bang, EXO, Beast and maybe Block B are able to chart top 10-15 for so long in most of the charts. I hope they keep doing this well or even better in the future.
