I mean it's not necessarily a bad thing because I like their sound too but I wanted something different. As much as I want the band concept back, it doesn't sell. Korea doesn't like girls in bands, they like girls in shorts doing cat dances. From a business pov, if it doesn't sell then why bother?

Yep, at the end of the day this is the hard-hitting truth.

We may all want to see AOA Black + complain about Y's absence in promotions but the fact is that the band wasn't bringing in the recognition and return they deserved. Yes, FNC could (and hopefully will sooner or later) give the band another try, but let's not trick ourselves into believing it's not a huge gamble for the company.

What about Youkyung though? She is really my main concern in all of this.
If AOA were just 7 members with all the band girls in the dance group then I would mind a little bit less with them sticking to one gig, but AOA has one more member who doesn't dance, so every time they promote like this a member is literally left out and a lot of people (not you in mind tho) seem to gloss over that. It's affected her badly too, now many people don't know her and the ones that do think she's not a regular member.

idk I'm just very disappointed that FNC's handled her (and AOA in general) so poorly. I like OT8 but if only they just made AOA only a band or only a dance group so that Youkyung or Seolhyun/Chanmi/Hyejeong aren't left out, either one would had done better at debut. If they really had to do a hybrid concept they should had only stuck to Choa/Mina/Jimin/Yuna plus a different drummer who dances. The whole "this member is in one unit but not the other" thing is pretty messy, especially now that one unit is favoured more than the other.

I mean I understand that one member is being left out, but it is hard to say because we really don't know how she feels about this. Maybe she doesn't really want to do the dance concept, and she is ok with not being out in public.

To be honest "Moya" got them their first "first place", it ranked higher than "Elvis" "Get out" and "confused", digitally it also sold more than "Red lines/confused" (a lot more) and got their name out there.
Yet it's only after "Confused" that FNC took the decision of killing AOA and AOA black, so at that point it made no sense from a business pov.
The only reason is because FNC is cheap as fuck, and it's less expensive to buy recycle trash from brave bro.


Fans aren't asking to drop the second dance unit (AOA 7), they aren't even asking for AOA black to comeback, just for AOA (which is different from the second dance unit we're getting)
The only things fan are asking is to get a few AOA or band ver. of the song as a b-side like they did for "Elvis" and "Get out"
Yuna/Jimin/Choa keep releasing acoustic ver. for each of the song and they get praise for it so FNC knows there's a market out there
So from a business pov they're actually making the wrong decision. (and let's not mention that it's what the girls want)
