It’s Exo’s Xiumin!

Chinese fan compiled all the times he trended (on Korean websites) in 2013

When Xiumin trended all day on his birthday.Normally, fans try to get their idols to trend on their birthdays so it’s pretty amazing that he trended all day. There were a lot of articles written about his birthday because of this.


He only appeared for a brief time on Running Man (ep. 154)


And he trended #1! Even though he didn’t get to talk and only appeared on the show for a short amount of time, he trended #1.

Xiumin wasn’t invited as a guest for this episode but was caught on camera because he was there for the 2013 Asian Dream Cup.

Fans even trended “Umin, come down” (from the search ranking)

Exo’s Suho mentioned this during a fansign

He ate mocha bread on an Exo reality program and trended.Here’s a compilation of all the times he trended that day.



On Exo’s XOXO reality show, Xiumin ate mocha bread, which not only caused him to trend like crazy but also caused a frenzy among fans to buy mocha bread. There were a lot of fanaccounts of mocha bread being sold out in bakeries.Mocha bread became rare in almost every bakery.
On the anniversary of breadgate this year, he trended again and yes, mocha bread sold out again.




What’s special about Xiumin trending is that he doesn’t trend for any particular reason.

There’s really no special reasonㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋHe trends even though he doesn’t have a schedule or any screentime.

But when he does get solo activities like getting casted in a movie (Kim Seondal) or as the lead actor in a music video (Jin’s Gone MV), he trends a lot too.

Whenever he’s up on search rankings, Exo fans just say “Oh, that’s nothing new” or “He went to go play in his playground*”

Whenever other fans ask why Xiumin’s trending, Exo fans always leave comments like “for breathing” or “He must have taken a breath.”

I don't know why but this is very true my eyes tend to focus on him.
If I had to venture a guess, I'd say it's because he has pretty but uncommon looks, he has some kind of charisma/charm that makes him stand out (and charismatic people are naturally socially attractive to pretty much everyone, we all know that one kid in the class that just stood out and was friends with pretty much everyone) and doesn't come off as stereotypical as your classic beauty idol with the paper cut broadcast personality?
He just seems more approachable and 'real' and I think that really helps, especially for fangirls, because oppa seems more attainable. And even for regular folks in regards to celebrities, those who come off as a bit more normal and accessible are usually quite appreciated because you can relate more.
