TV network KBS recently conducted an online survey through its Culture Research Center asking which Korean actors and actresses people thought were the most beautiful. Through the broadcast of its weekly entertainment new show, “Entertainment Relay,” these past two weeks, it announced the results of its survey, a mixture of some surprise and some obvious. Take a look at the list below, divided by gender, and see if you agree with the rankings.

I will never get the thing with Kim Tae Hee. She is pretty but she gets so much praised about her beauty that it makes me think I'm losing something. I never saw her act, so maybe she wins people's hearts on that...

oh no no no definitely not acting if anything her face is what's been keeping in the industry despite her acting

the thing about kim tae hee is her face is very... balanced? symmetrical? i mean there are a lot of koreans too who say kim tae hee isn't all that because she's lacking her own unique appeal
i think her face epitomizes every check point of korean's standard of beauty and that's probably why.

Interesting that Suzy's the only idol-actor mentioned in the whole thing (unless my tired eyes have made me miss anyone else).

I see Kim Tae Hee's beauty and appeal but it doesn't awe me all that much.
It just me or are none of the photos shown here for the top 10 actresses flattering for them?

It's pretty interesting that the top 10 for both actors (except Kim Soo Hyun) and actresses are mature, at least 30-somethings mixed with a couple older classics whereas 11-50 are a mixed bag.

lee youngae is the prettiest to me imo, followed by jeon jihyun. but i def see kim taehee's appeal, she's gorgeous.

meh, kind of boring and expected... i was hoping for more fresh faces, like chun woo hee (who's absolutely slaying the awards right now)


although pleasantly surprised lee min hag isn't in the top ten; not-so-pleasant surprises are how low shin min ah, ji chang wook and jun ji hyun are and han hyo joo not making the list at all.

also, a decade ago, i used to think han ga in was really overrated from pictures, but after seeing her in the moon embraces the sun, i'd have to say my intuition was correct, she's overrated and her screen presence makes me angry.

Han Ga In's sad excuse for acting is godawful but at least she has had the grace to remove her untalented self from dramas and movies for the last 3 years. It beats the time when she tried to pin the blame for her terrible acting in Witch Yoo Hee on the writer, tho - talk about delusional.

It was especially pathetic in Moon/Sun because you had Kim Yoo Jung outclassing her with such incredible ease as her younger version of her character. When your 30 year old ass is shown up by a 12 year old who does better at the job than you, I think it's officially embarrassing.

Kim Hee Sun is so gorgeous. I think Angry Mom was the first thing I've really watched her in and just every angle...every situation. My word. There are other faces I find beautiful too like Han Yeri, Bae Doona (it's in the name!), and Kang Hye Jung...I didn't see them there though but I kinda skimmed through the whole thing, lol. Im Ju Eun too...

Jung, Jo, and Won all in a neat little row for the guys. I love their faces and I think it's bolstored by their skill as well for me. Some other faves were lower in the list like Yoo Ah In and Gong Yoo. And personally I would add Lee Soo Hyuk who is of unearthly perfection and getting better and better at acting too. Was Shin Ha Kyun in the list because I could watch him all day, too.

Before I start picking these people apart & judging the rankings, I just want to say I realize they're all at the very least nice-looking if not incredibly attractive by non-celeb standards, and that none of these people are ugly...

For Men:
-I used to not be attracted to Jo In-sung, but I think I'm slowly coming around on him.
-I'm assuming Namgoong Won & Kang Shin Sung occupy a certain stature culturally, or maybe beauty standards have changed a lot since their time, because they just look like normal, nice-looking ahjussis to me (in the younger pictures). Idk, I feel I'm too ignorant on pre-Hallyu Korean film to comment on any of the now-elderly actors listed here
-He's not really hot to me now, but younger!Jung Woo-sung was a such a catch
-Cha Seung-won's still hot
-Bae Yong-joon has always kinda creeped me out
-Agree with: Won Bin, Song Joong-ki, So Ji-sub, Go Soo (something about his persona/acting style/personality turns me off, but he's undeniably handsome), Gong Yoo (IMO he should be MUCH higher), Yoo Ah-in (once again, personality is honestly a turn-off, but not to the point that I can deny his beauty), Joo Jin-mo, and, for the most part, Kang Dong-won & Kim Soo-hyun
-Actors whom I realize many find attractive (and plenty of them are conventionally handsome) but personally do nothing for me: Jang Dong-gun, Song Seung-heon, Hyun Bin, Lee Jung-jae, Lee Min-ho, Park Hae-jin, Jang Geun-seuk, Lee Seung-gi, Lee Byung-hun (even before I knew he was a creep, he looked like a creep), Kim Min-jong & Kwon Sang-woo
-Who I'd add to the list: Kang Ha-neul, Lee Minki, Yeo Jin-goo, Sung Joon & Kim Jae-wook


-Kinda surprised, considering the big deal they make about her, that Han Ga-in didn't safely make the Top 10 (while KTH got Number 1). I go back and forth on whether I find her stunning or just averagely pretty. Have somewhat of the same issue with Son Ye-jin & Han Ji-min
-Again, there's a lot of names I don't know - like Kang Soo-yeon & Jung Yoon-hee - so I can't comment on them
-Agree with: Moon Chae-won, Song Hye-kyo, Lee Young-ae (that's a terrible picture of her), Kim Hee-ae, Kim Tae-hee (I'd place her lower on the list, though), Jun Ji-hyun (tbh, I'm shocked she's not Top 3-5), Shin Se-kyung (when she doesn't look Botox-y), Suzy, Ha Ji-won, Kim Hye-soo, Go So-young (pre-botox/PS whatever she's done) & Shin Min-ah
-Recognize they're conventionally attractive or even beautiful, but personally don't do much for me: Park Shin-hye, Kim Hee-sun, Go Hyun-jung, Kim Sun-ryung, Han Ye-seul, Moon Geun-young, Kim Nam-joo, Lee Yeon-hee (tho maybe I should group her with Han Ga-in et al.), Han Chae-young (however, around her Delightful Girl Choon-hyang era, when still looked unique and less Barbie doll, I used to find her beautiful) & Choi Ji-woo
-Surprised with the omissions of Han Hyo-joo, Yoon Eun-hye & Han Hye-jin. -I'd add: Song Ji-hyo, Jung Yu-mi, Kang Hye-jung & Bae Doona (though I go back and forth on her, she's undeniably striking)

Since the old guys made it on the list with pics from the 60s I assume this is a list of everyone at the peak, because most of these people (not counting Gong Yoo) have been on a visual decline through the years.

Also I see that 70 year old men can make top 10 but none of the veteran actresses (who IMO were much better looking than new gen) did -_-

Lee Minho is way to high, even at his peak which was City Hunter.

Lee Jong Suk is my precious but I also think he is too high, his side profile is perfect but from the front his nose is weird.

Kim Woo Bin is surprisingly high, I thought Korea did not consider him conventionally attractive

ik, like Lee Min Ho post-jaw shave or fillers or whatever the fuck he did to himself circa Heirs, is just not cute. I can't believe he removed his best feature i.e. jawline and cheekbones, like wtf.

And ia, LJS is adorable and really cute but his nose job is the most obvious. Thankfully he's a good enough actor that I can forget about the distracting nose after about a minute, it was so unnecessary.

i'm kind of surprised at the mid-ish ranking for bb jun ji hyun :( also so ji sub and gong yoo. also kind of surprised yoona isn't included, i guess she's still more known as an idol beauty. but most of the list us pretty predictable, just like korea's beauty standards lol
