MAAN - Come Around

This is a fun, upbeat summer song with a radio-friendly rock sound that wouldn't sound out of place on an American top 40 station. The band has connections to Love x Stereo, who helped engineer their record.

Phonebooth - Hide-and-Seek

Phonebooth were featured in our January post, and they're back with a new MV for their song "Hide-and-Seek." Unfortunately the guitars in the chorus are cranked way up, which overpowers the vocals at times, but it's still a solid tune.

OKDAL - 희한한 시대 (Strange Times)

The song itself sounds like something you'd hear in the background of a slice-of-life show, which fits perfectly with the MV showing humorous glimpses of bored office workers going about their days. If you like this song, you can listen to and buy it (and other songs from the same EP) on Bandcamp.

VinylHouse - Negative Love

This is a disco/dance-inspired track that reminds me a little of Shinee's "Dream Girl." You can buy this song and others from VinylHouse on iTunes.

The Morning Glory - Electric Shock

Bearing absolutely no resemblance to the f(x) song of the same name, this song features twangy, distorted guitars and sprinklings of synth that sounds like it belongs on a Quentin Tarantino soundtrack. This is The Morning Glory's first single, and their first album is expected to be released in July.

Arumi - 네가 스며드는 날

Arumi's put out several songs this month, most of which are too twee for my personal taste, but this song strikes the perfect balance of relaxing and cheerful without being overly cutesy. If you like her particular brand of whispery kitty-cat vocals, she's got a Facebook page (where she posted a cover of Big Bang's "Loser") and a cute Instagram.

Backward feat. Bigsmoke - Artist

The backing track is the real star of this song, but the largely English raps stand up pretty well on their own. Bigsmoke is apparently a member of a crew called Quadrough, which has their own youtube channel.

I like all of them. Electric Shock does remind me of a Tarantino track weirdly mixed with trot. Arumi sounds like someone I'd play in the background on a rainy day, but not something I'd actively search out. MAAN reminds me of Jrock or maybe just indie bands in general, I like the song. I can see OKDAL's Strange Times as the last episode of a drama.

well apart from whowho's first album i don;t think anything rly happened in k-indie this month that i liked a lot. except maybe we are the night's newest release

it came out at the end of april so i think it still kind of counts as an may release lol
