storyline... welp. 4.5/10? mostly because it sometimes goes deep and some characters get good developement yet in general... i won't rewatch it. if i do, i would fast forward to sungjae's scenes.
honestly rn ep 12 aired and we still have 4 to go and... everything feels really rushed, after weeks of slow-paced semi-fillers. writer tried to make this drama a bit of dark coming-of-age thing but it felt flat? we have tons of mysteries etc, and on paper it's very makjang like. it doesn't feel as dramatic mostly due to the fact drama is set in school full of teenagers.
i dislike how the romance part played out - we got typical love triangle that also feels bit wrong. sungjae's character is very likeable, his family played huge part in turning him into a guy with some psychological problems, but as the story goes by, he gets aware of stuff and tries to come in terms with things, working out his problems. he's not really a typical second lead? while the other guy is different, and maybe not in a good way. not to mention he originally liked the other twin and it just feels wrong... other character that got good characterisation is a girl that bullied female lead. the actress who plays her is really good! she is messed up to the max but her acting is able to showcase her vuneralibity and such. also the whole mystery plot feels under-developed while the romance seems to take too much of focus. at first i thought it would be like onizuka and stuff like that, each student would get a bit of developement and their problems would be showcased a lot more and the drama won't focus only on female lead. in the end, it feels way too shallow and not really out-of-the-box. there wasn't even one episode that i felt was well-done from beginning to an end, there's always some low point and it doesn't flow right. what attributes to that is probably the fact they are live shooting since ep 1 pretty much... there are hardly next week previews for the drama when episode ends.
in general, it's not THAT bad but not THAT great either. it's hardly a fluff but not really a challenging mystery drama either. rn 90% ppl that are watching the drama are busy justyfying their otp and it's hardly enjoyable :p
By new you mean this season? I kinda gave up on staying up to date after winter was a let down... I only liked Mondai no aru Restaurant tbvh (i hope i spelled that right :p). Ouroboros with Shun Oguri and Toma Ikuta was a total let down, I liked the manga but drama got so dumb. Rn I'm only watching Mare (asadora), it's cute. I want to watch some of spring dramas after they are finished and fully subbed. Yamapi's Flowers for Algernon that was penned by Nojima Shinji and the first episode was slow so I dropped it, but I think I will get back to it. Apart from that's there's Yokoso Wagaya e and I stopped at ep 4 but it ain't bad. Not really my style tho. KimuTaku's I'm Home seems ambitious but, like Pi's drama, I dropped it after ep 1. I even started Doctor's Affairs for Saito Takumi (he's hot lol) but it's draggy af and kinda manipulative, like Hirugao... I haven't checked Sato Takeru's baker period drama, but I defenitely will.
Japanese dramas lately has been a let down for me somehow -- even by the writers that I used to adore. :( I am in the mood to watch something like Love Shuffle but I dont think they did anything like that anymore. Or something like Maou or Ryusei no Kizuna. But I think Im gonna check out Doctor's Affair -- when you said it manipulative, it peaks my interest to check it ngl. Sato Takeru's period drama probably gonna be a bore so I passed that I think.
Anything with Matsu Shota will be great tbh. I somehow long to hear his awesome speaking voice lol
I think you can try Date. It's a fun drama with Anne about two people dating with marriage in mind, both have their own reasons to do so. Sounds boring but you need to at least try it :) I watched first ep when it came out and it was pretty funny? I dropped it as at the time there were no subs and now when it's comepletely subbed I have no time :( Doctor's Affairs are beoring to me, it's hard to feel for the characters. Idk why Saito Takumi always stars in such drag stuff, even when he does something else than kabedons in dramas like Karamazov no Kyodai, the series itself is a let down.

I dont like Medical dramas either. I like it when it is well done and real (I have medical knowledge so it furious me when they do medical procedures wrongly lol) like JIN or IRYU. The rest, it just wrong and fake like most of kdramas lol. But Yamapi did a good job in Code Blue -- the way he do CPR is what supposed to be done in real situation. :)

Recently I was on johnny jr drama watching spree and most of them were about jankees and shit :p Bakaleya was super boring, while Bad Boys J was fun. Kamen Teacher was baaad and I can't believe they did a special and a movie out of it... Where I live now internet connection sucks and before I mved from my old flat, I used my 1tb external harddrive to save as many dramas I can XD I don't really have the time to watch them now but at least the thought of my storage cheers me up :p
