One thing that pisses me off about Mamamoo is that they are the full package, they have great visuals, great singers, they can dance pretty well, they even compose/choreograph part of their material, but their songs seems to lack the "it" factor to just shoot them right up to the popularity they deserve tbh :/
I don't know how to say it. They're good songs- better than most of the stuff out there but they just miss something

ITA. there is just SOMETHING missing even tho their songs arent bad at all.

i think pigeon holing them in the vintage diva style wont do much for them until they create a song that really PUSHES that whole look and sound.

T-ara has made vintage work really well so we know it's possible
their concept is fitting and songs quality, but I just feel like they're all great for listening yet missing that one catchy bit that makes it a true hit.
Actually when I think about the composition of their lead single they miss like the main thing to a pop song: a good build and then the climax. They always seem to lack a real strong build and then the chorus just isn't what the previous part made you expect. It just falls short and it suuuuuch a shame.
Then again I'd rather see them do their thing than go full on basic sounding pop

t-ara did the vintage style?! i havent liked anything they've released since their debut so i dont kno if i can echo those sentiments, lol.

i jam to mamamoo songs but sometimes they sound like they're missing several instruments to make the song sound FULLER.

we doooooooooooo! i love mamamoo!!!! but even as a fan i can see where they're lacking musically! T___T

it's less to do with them individually and more to do with their production.

i dont think their fringe presence in the market has anything to do with fitting in or not. mamamoo is CLEARLY the whole package. my criticism goes to their musical production team----everything else about them is great. they dont need to be mainstream to have a fuller sound.

even if they go without notice because of more popular groups i still think their management has done a great job keeping them in the public eye without over-saturating which is pretty commendable, honestly. they have the public respect of their ability, i think their popularity might come out in the variety world before a title track. they would've been better off coming out with a comeback in january/february when all the other groups were asleep.

still---if they can drop a song that keeps them in the top 3 or 5 ppl will definitely notice even if they never win once.
