JYPE confirms that 6-member 2PM will perform on stage @ Dream Concert

The formerly seven-member boy band 2PM will perform on stage for the first time without member Park Jae-beom who quit the group early September, according to the group's agency on Tuesday.

"We have decided that 2PM will perform at the 2009 Dream Concert on October 10," an official at JYP Entertainment said.

The group had been set to perform at the concert a while ago so the remaining six members would attend the event, the official explained, adding that the agency is currently coordinating the band's future schedule.

Members Jun-su and Jun-ho had sung at the 2009 Asia-Pacific Supermodel Contest last week, performing for the first time since the departure of their former leader.

The original group had last appeared on stage at the 2009 Incheon Korean Music Wave concert on September 5. Three days later, 22-year-old Park left the group over controversial remarks he made on his MySpace account before his debut.

Park Jin-young, founder and CEO of the group's agency JYP Entertainment, announced two weeks ago that the group would resume its activities with its remaining six members despite fan clubs' demand to reinstate the former leader.

Fans have declared they would boycott a six-member 2PM on top of previous decisions to boycott the group's products and hold silent protests.

I want to go to this concert so bad so I can't help but feel annoyed at the fans who can go but choose to boycott just because their whiny demands aren't being met. I mean, good grief, it sucks that Jay can't be a part of it but I'd rather support 6 than not support and face the possibility of 2PM disbanding.

All the support and love for jay is great, but i think hottest needs to show 2pm that they still love them, not only jay. all the boycotting makes it seem like hottest only care about jay. It will make the rest oh 2pm felt left out,that they are not as important as jay. If i'm a member of 2pm, i know i will question myself, will hottest do the same thing if what happened to jay happened to me. i don't want to question all the 'things' that hottest did or plan to do to get Jay back. All i hope is they spend a little time, to tell other members, to send a message "hey, we will not doing this 'things' for Jay only, if anything happen to any of 2pm's members, we will do the same, we will support and fight for any of you"

hottest are not trying to boycott the other 6 boys... they are trying to pressure JYP, shareholders and sponsors. The fans are trying to prove how strong they are.

2PM is a business (whenever we like it or not) and fans are trying to prove what they can do for 2PM & JYPE. IMHO they are trying to prove that in a balance their support is bigger than the antis shit. Because they feel that everyone hears the 1000 antis they might have but not the +10,000 fans they have.

...sometimes I wonder if its only Korean fans that are this intense about things. Seriously, it's time to move on from all the drama. September has had enough boyband drama. Hopefully, October will be better.
