Plot:
It’s true that fiction is often based on fact. Bang Myeong Soo (Byun Yo Han) is a webtoon writer who has used his own personal experiences with his ex-girlfriends as source material for his popular webcomic. In fact, he has gone into great detail about the personalities and idiosyncrasies of all the women he has dated. When his webcomic is optioned to be made into a film, the producer assigned to the project at the film production company happens to be Kim Soo Jin (Song Ji Hyo), his most-recent ex-girlfriend. When the project requires that Soo Jin also gather Myeong Soo’s other ex-girlfriends – Jang Hwa Young (Lee Yoon Ji), Na Ji Ah (Jang Ji Eun) and Ra Ra (Hwa Young) – does the film project stand a chance at getting off the ground? “Ex-Girlfriend Club” is a 2015 South Korean drama series directed by Kwon Seok Jang.

I have watched 5&6 yet but man I'm such a sucker for Byun Yo Han's smile. He and Jihyo are super cute together.

I still don't understand how anyone can mistake not dating for dating tho. I'm also not a fan of all the hair pulling in this show.

Jihyo isn't AS bad in this as I thought she would be tbh

lol The three longer "relationships" I had in my life I wouldn't consider them dating but it wouldn't surprise me if the guys tell me they think it was.

It helps that Ra Ra is the cutest of the sidekick roles in this show.

I did wrong...I was expecting too much and it let me down. Not because is bad but because I wanted more.
There is too much about the ex-girlfriends and so little about the main couple. And Myeong Soo's feelings were so confusing. I know he likes her, but I don't think the writers did a good job showing it.
For the trailers I thought I will dislike Ra Ra but now she is my favourite lol
And I was happy with Song Ji Hyo acting in Emergency Couple, but I like it even more here. I think she's improving or maybe she is just better at romantic comedies.

i like this drama so far. it took a while to gain it's footing but it's pretty entertaining. also byun yo han and song ji hyo have like INSANE chemistry. the two of them together is just straight up delicious.

what's messy:

1. the editing is HORRIBLE. there r so many awkward and jumpy cuts from face to face, especially when ppl r arguing, and it's so poorly done and makes it so hard to focus on what's going on.

2. the writing for the other girlfriends r seriously lacking. i mean,na ji ah feels the most significant but that's just because of the way myeong soo feels about her. and all this is relayed THROUGH myeong soo's own understanding of their relationship. it's annoying that we dont have more understanding (especially this many episodes in!) about each girls individual wants OUTSIDE of their interest in myeong soo.

what works:

1. myeong soo x soo jin. 100%. the writing for both characters is great. it's a shame the supporting characters dont really match up.

2. even with scraps for character development i think all the ex girlfriends have pretty distinct personalities that make them mostly fun to watch. the relationship between ji ah and myeong soo is the most intriguing. i just wish they wouldn't ruin her development by making her act so foolish whenever myeong soo breathes in soo jin's general direction.

3. the director jo guy is hilarious and weird. unfortunately, i'm already bored with the inevitable love polygon that's coming down the pipeline between him, soo jin, myeong soo, and ra ra.

4. byun yo han is SUCH a great actor. he's also terribly hot.

5. i kno ppl think song ji hyo is not that great of an actress but i actually like her in this part and i hope they dont ruin her character when she starts to fall in love.

Ia w/ you...
Except for Song Ji Hyo , I think she's doing like the weakest performance among all the actors....

The soundtrack for this is GOLD.

I'm really enjoying this drama. It's hilariously ridiculous but endearing at the same time. My favorite is definitely the fox(?). The main couple back story is also quite bittersweet; I could see how a lot of people can relate to that.

I'm loving it. I love the women and their interactions with one another. I think there are issues with the writing and editing, and the director character is insufferable (and one note), but Ji Hyo and Byun Yo Han are so great together. I love that the foundation of their relationship is that they have a great friendship.

I like this! This and School/Who Are You are the only two dramas I'm watching... I'm behind on Grapevine.

The show is fun and zany while still being light and not over-the-top. I was on the fence initially that all his exes were going to stick around, but this week was an upgrade. More story, better pacing, and we get a clearer picture of the OTP's relationship. Not gonna lie, the only reason I started this was for Byun Yo Han though.

I'm addicted and crazy abt Byun Yo Han because of this drama.
I like this rom-com, it's not perfect but it's fun and fresh, it deserves much better writing but Yo Han's smile is everything lol
I pretty much like all the characters who need to be developped, the actreses can def make it work...
And I need more and deeper discussions about those past relationships esp with the brother-in-law and the female characters which is what made me fall for this drama.
