Date: 2015-05-22 10:45 pm (UTC)so my roommates want to do lots of fun things because it's almost the end of the school term and we all leave for summer. for example, we're going to the movies tonight.
on the other hand, this weekend they want to go out of the country for a day (we're right by the border) and I think that while it sounds fun, I also feel panicked about how many projects I have to complete as due dates are quickly approaching right after the weekend - after all, the end of the term is coming. but I feel socially obligated to go to this because I'm their roommate and there was an explosion because someone else backed out, but I feel worried that I'll just think about hw and not have fun if I go. :( help?

Date: 2015-05-22 11:34 pm (UTC)my biggest dilemma is the plane ticket. should i pay more for a direct flight thru korean air (which is going to be around $1900) or would it be alright to get a MUCH cheaper flight (i'm talking like $1000 or a bit less) with a longer travel time because of layovers in los angeles and tokyo? i've never travelled for longer than a 3 hour waiting at the airport period and a 6 hour flight, so...but i'm also super cheap and want to save money wherever i can lmfao.
another thing is, what are some things i should definitely bring? i live in the usa and i have super curly hair so obviously all of my hair products and one of those electricity converter things are a given, but idk what else i absolutely must bring. also, i'll be staying at my friend's place with her and her family, so i won't be paying for any hotel stuff unless we go to seoul. aaaaand yeah, that's basically it. any general info you guys have would be much appreciated ;~;

Last time I wrote about my brother moving out and how messy it will be and... sadly I wasn't wrong. He basically morphed into my father 2.0, everything is always about him. I'm not really on speaking terms with him as he crossed the line (again) some time ago and he still doesn't get why. Same goes to my parents, they tell me to reconcile etc but he's still an ass and what's the point. Also my brother changed wifi password as kind of "economic sanction" (his exact words) and it's just wrong. He's pissed I ditched the major he persuaded me to take and my parents kinda dont care wtf he is doing. They payed for his flat and he already announced he won't even let them in... It pisses me off as it's been month since I moved back into my parents' and I hardly have time for anything personal. Each time I use laptop I hear I'm addicted to the internet,forget watching dramas cause my dad would always come just to say something racist...
This past month I've been basically cooking, working as insurance agent (my mom is one) and stillI hear how terrible I am, fat and disobidient... The point I feel my siblings don't have to try while I constantly have to do shit to prove I'm a worthy child :/ Not to mention I often hear I grew up in the best conditions among us and still I didn't turned out well...
Sorry for the rant, I had to let it out :(

I always feel bad talking about other people's relatives but your family sounds toxic.
Did you think about taking a break for them? like going to another country? If you don't have money enough to be independent, you could look at going like an 'au pair' as an option (my sister did it even when she dislikes kids and she's pretty happy). Just to try a different environment.
