Victoria Cast in Chinese Ver of "My Best Friend's Wedding"
Sony Pictures and China Film Co. Ltd. are developing a Chinese remake of the romantic comedy “My Best Friend’s Wedding” and setting it for release in China on Valentine’s Day 2016.

The film will star Shu Qi (“Gone With The Bullets”), Feng Shaofeng (“Wolf Totem”), Song Qian (“My New Sassy Girl”) and Ye Qing (“Man of Tai Chi”). Alexi Tan (“Blood Brothers”) will direct and produce with his company, Play Productions.

Shooting is set to begin in late July in London, Italy and Beijing.

Sony’s original 1997 film starred Julia Roberts, Cameron Diaz, Dermot Mulroney and Rupert Everett. It was a major hit with worldwide grosses of $300 million.

The remake will center on a pair of journalists — male and female — who have grown up together as best friends. The man falls in love with a wealthy Chinese girl who has been studying in the U.K, and asks his female friend to be his “best man.” The female friend realizes that she loves him, not just as a friend, and sets out for London a few days before the wedding determined to win him back.
The script for the remake of “My Best Friend’s Wedding” was written by Hong Jiu, Fu Linran and Alexi Tan.

“We are delighted to be collaborating with Columbia Pictures on this exciting remake of what has become an international comedy classic,” said Ling Hong of China Film Co.

I hate this objectification netizens have towards Victoria, like she is a prized lapdog that they like for doing everything right, but the moment something goes wrong for them they will put her down without any sort of compassion. It's really creepy and worrisome.
