Known for scolding fans when they cross the line, Shinhwa′s Kim Dong Wan posted a photo of a rude fan on his Facebook, only to remove the photo and address the issue once again later on.

On May 17, Kim Dong Wan posted a photo of a woman, holding a camera to her face. In his post, he wrote, "Today at the airport, you stepped on at least 10 people′s feet, pushed over bags, and bumped into many bodies. It′s because you didn′t watch where you were going and only had your eye on your viewfinder. Those people will come to the conclusion that these actions were done by Shinhwa fans. Please don′t make the title of Shinhwa fan something to curse at. Today, you made many people feel unpleasant."

The following is his post:

"I heard that many people are attacking the girl on Weibo. Please stop. That′s not what I wanted. It′s my fault for posting that photo impulsively.

I enjoy taking photos as well. When I first began taking photos, I sometimes took pictures without asking the other person. Then I heard of Korean photographers who were sued by ordinary citizens, so since then, when I film abroad, I hand them a card with my email address on it. In Korea, I began taking photos after receiving permission. Because people have portrait rights even if they aren′t models in the commercial business.

It′s difficult to point out people taking pictures of singers without a commerical purpose. However, I would appreciate if you could keep basic manners. As a person who takes photos, I find it hard to understand how you can make a model feel unpleasant. Don′t both sides want to take and be in happy photos?

Because of the person who I don′t know the name of and who doesn′t know manners, I wasn′t able to greet a lot of people who came out to the airport. That′s what made me the angriest.

When you′re not sure, look at the people around you. See what kind of rules they′re following.

The reason why people love soccer or baseball is because of the rules. Please don′t ruin the rules of the game that we′ve been enjoying for a very long time. Please."

1. [+19,649, -201] Kim Dong Wan wasn't out of line, some of the photo taking fans at the airports are nuts

2. [+16,585, -141] Fans need to learn some manners

3. [+15,860, -169] He did the right thing. Sasaengs won't learn until they get what's coming.

4. [+14,774, -288] Good on Kim Dong Wan..

5. [+9,994, -213] Ugh, what a nuisance, she acts like she owns the airport..

6. [+1,574, -23] I think he did the right thing. You should not be a nuisance to others just because you want to see your favorite singer. Know to draw a line.. tsk tsk.

7. [+1,557, -28] Kim Dong Wan had no reason to apologize. Not like her face was shown and she deserves to have her identity released online anyway.

8. [+1,517, -16] Just how badly was she out of line that Kim Dong Wan resorted to this. I think he had every right to. There's only so much you should put up with.

9. [+1,378, -19] Honestly not sure why Kim Dong Wan apologized for this

Teach them Oppayam!!! Tbh, i think he did the right thing with taken down the photos because cyber bullying could be scary.. But atleast he sent her (and ssasaengs) some serious warning signal by doing this.

My ahjussi remain flawless

Round of applause for him for addressing the situation so well.

Mte. People were blaming him for deliberately making the sasaeng a target of cyber bullying. I feel like his explanation is on point.

I don't know how else the stars are supposed to protect themselves. There were so many people in past sasaeng posts wanting them to be exposed, etc but when something like this actually happens Dongwan gets jumped on for "not knowing any better". I don't remember Luhan being dragged for exposing that sasaeng's number who called him, but I don't really follow EXO so no idea what happened there.

Thoughtful, through, and well said. I especially like the last lines.

I just saw his first episode of i love alone this past weekend, and he and his drone was really cool.

Flawless!
I'm not sure if he is an incredibly eloquent person, or if it is the person who translated his comments into English, but those words are beautifully written, with a clear, easy-to-understand message. #impressed#
... Now if SM could hire him (again!) and put him in charge of keeping their talents' fans in line, the Kpop fandom would be a much nicer, safer, happier place.

Dongwan is quite eloquent and knowledgeable, he reads a lot and educates himself pretty well, so this sounds a lot like him and what he would say.

Good for him for taking it out because I'm nhf cyber bullying, anyone who thinks he did the right thing by uploading the pic is gross imo.
He should call the cops, hire some bodyguards, idk all the kind of things he can do as a celeb. That's it.

her face was entirely covered by the camera, and only people who would've recognized her from the photo are fans who either saw her at the scene or know the person from other fan activities.

this was less of her getting in his way and more of her getting in way of other people including the fans and other innocent passerbys.

Ok... He shouldn't have uploaded any pic either way

there are all kind of weird and annoying poeple who have absolutely no manners I have to deal with every time I get out of my home and come to public & crowded places. You either tell them politely to mind others and behave or you move on. Or if what they do is illegal (invasion of privacy in his case), you call the cops. There is no need to do anything else, esp something that might bring more harm than good like uploading a pic to millions of followers and provoking something else you can regret some day.

So I'm just saying : I think he was right to take out the pic, and wrong to upload it in the first place.

As far as i know, random fans are the one taking pictures of the girl, the ones exposing her face arent taken by him. It's pretty blurry but some fans somehow managed to find her tho

Those random fans did something bad too, but when you have millions of followers and you decide to promote this kind of response to someone who annoyed you, as an adult... Then you have to take responsibility for the consequences too, and the consequences can go from a small thing to a big thing considering the effects of cyber bullying nowadays. It was not very mature of him. The apology was, though.

really smart, this a really good use for sns
i hope other idols are taking note, you guys can take the control
if you felt uncomfortable just say it, they''re your fans you can and (in situations like this) you must scold them
don't sugarcoat things for sasaeng fans

👏 Very well said. I love how he apologized afterwards when he saw things get out of hand. He didn't just sit back and watch, he once again took matters in his own hands. Flawless ahjussi indeed.

SHINHWA members are always on top of regular things. Dongwan is eloquent and I've always liked how easily can he convey his thoughts and situations, as complicated as they might be, into simpler and together expressions. SHCJs are mature in most cases but all it takes is one person to destroy all that so I hope you and I, we all think twice and don't bother others for the sake of being entertained.

I love him sfm, and it gives me life that we get to see him on I live Alone regularly too. But I worry that more exposure, plus things like this might wear him out a bit. I think he handled the situation well overall. Stay flawless, Oppayam <3
