Gong Hyo Jin Worries about Getting Hate for Being Mean to Kim Soo Hyun in ′The Producers′
In the drama, Kong Hyo Jin will play Tak Ye Jin, the PD for Music Bank with a snappy and fierce personality.
"After my play, I was scheduled to film a movie in June, but the script for The Producer was so fun. It was really funny. The comedy code of writer Park Ji Eun is the kind of comedy that I really like. I thought it was funny and had good feelings for it."
"Of all the characters that I had, Tak Ye Jin is the harshest. In the first episode, there are no scenes where I smile and it′s full of scenes where I educate the rookies. But in between that, the things that she lacks, created by the wittiness of writer Park Ji Eun, are charming and adorable."
"With a role where I let out my anger and scold others, I′m relieving my stress. I worry that I′ll get hate for torturing Kim Soo Hyun and giving him a hard time, but it′s been fun," said Kong Hyo Jin, laughing.
The Producers is about the crazy roller coaster ride of events that occur in the variety department of a broadcast station. The drama was co-produced by writer Park Ji Eun and variety PD, Seo Soo Min.

Cha Tae-hyun: “Kim Jong-kook Will Take A Big Part In The Drama”
Ironically, Cha Tae-hyun on this day talked about Kim Jong-kook, who was cast to play the supporting role. “He is not a cameo,” said Cha Tae-hyun. “He will play a significant role on ‘The Producers’, and the production team was intending to cast him from the very beginning. It’s just that his role seemed minor compared to Kim Soo-hyun,” he added, which made everyone burst into laughter. “It’s a misunderstanding if you think Kim Jong-kook is appearing on the drama just because this drama will be exported to China and he is popular in that area.”
Cha Tae-hyun also complemented about Kim Jong-kook’s great acting skills. “He is better than I expected. You might as well be surprised to see his performance once the drama is on air. The only problem is that he is under hectic schedules and there aren’t many scenes of him. I am the first person who wants to see him act more and have as many scenes with him as possible.” The generous actor has chosen to talk about his colleague rather than himself.
‘The Producers’ is the first drama to be considered as the ‘Entertainment Drama’ in Korean television and produced by the entertainment division of KBS, instead of the drama division. It will depict lives of elite yet clumsy employees who are likely to work overtime or all night due to a heavy workload. Renowned screenwriter Park Ji-eun and producer Seo Soo-min are expected to draw viewers by walking a thin line between the genres of fiction and reality.

Gong Hyo Jin Says Kim Soo Hyun Acts Differently Around IU on “Producer” Set
Gong Hyo Jin’s statements regarding Kim Soo Hyun during a production conference for upcoming KBS2 drama “Producer” have a lot of people talking.
Discussing her co-star Kim Soo Hyun during the conference, the actress revealed that, “When Kim Soo Hyun is with me or Cha Tae Hyun he is rather docile, but when he’s around IU he acts very manly.” She then turned around and complimented him, saying, “He is very sharp and intelligent. He’s just about the opposite of his dumb and clumsy character in the show.”
“He’s also a good singer,” she continued. “Our dressing rooms are right next to one another, and it’s to the point that I need to ask for some soundproofing.”

Kim Soo-hyun: “I’m Inhabiting My Role”
Kim Soo-hyun was cast to play the role of new producer in the entertainment division, Baek Seung-chan. Kim on this day made everyone laugh by asking for attention and support every time he spoke.
just 28 years of age, actor Kim Soo-hyun has become a megastar ever since he appeared on television series ‘My Love from The Stars’. And interestingly, he got to pair up with screenwriter Park Ji-eun for the second time following ‘My Love from The Stars’. “I was lucky to team up with her. Everything was well-timed,” said Kim Soo-hyun.
“I found Baek Seung-chan interesting and wanted to give it a shot. He is a clumsy guy, and I thought it could be fun to play him if I just let myself go a little bit and inhabit the role. I wanted to show the public a new side of me,” he added.
However, this was not his first time to play eccentric roles like Baek. Kim happened to play a fool in film ‘Secretly, Greatly’. To the question asking whether it is a coincidence or there is any reason for him to play the roles that are similar in some ways, he replied, “No, there is no particular reason, and I don’t intend to choose those kind of roles. In fact, I believe they are actually quite different from each other; when I was playing the fool in ‘Secretly, Greatly’, I had to put all my energy into him. Baek Seung-chan is different; I’m trying to relax and go easy when I am playing him, in fact,” said Kim.
“My roles I played in the past and Baek Seung-chan may seem to have a few things in common; but Baek Seung-chan is a man who is likely to improve and move forward as time goes. I’m really looking forward to showing that part of him to the viewers,” the superstar once again asked for full support and attention to the drama.

IU: “I’m Exactly Like Cindy When Annoyed”
IU, originally a singer who added acting to her career a few years ago, was cast as top singer ‘Cindy’ on ‘The Producers’. “Doing a television drama provides catharsis to me,” said IU.
“I talk like Cindy with my managers during breaks. I’m also thinking I should live a life her for a while. She looks like a cold person on the outside, but in fact there is pureness and warmth inside her. She’s not a person who is so stuck-up after all,” she explained about her role.
“However, there is one negative thing about Cindy; she is always so upset and annoyed, and she takes it out on her manager. But then, when she does something wrong or makes a mistake, then she apologizes like it’s the last day on earth. Haha, to be frankly, I am a bit like her.”
A question was given to the young actress whether she took in details, images or styles of other singers while playing the renowned singer role. “Well, yes. I’ve watched singers with so much charisma-like Hyuna or SNSD for instance-and tried to be like them when I’m Cindy. Regarding appearances or styles, well, I wish I had a great fit and legs like Krystal from f(x), because then Cindy would look gorgeous when she wore skinny pants,” said the cute actress.
IU then thanked her colleagues. “I haven’t had many scenes with Gong Hyo-jin sunbaenim(senior actor) yet, but she is so kind and helps me in many way; whenever I’m standing, she tells me to sit down! On the other hand, I had a scene with Cha Tae-hyun sunbaenim. The actor whom I work with the most is Kim Soo-hyun. He gives me a lot of advice on acting. I’m doing great thanks to them,” said IU.

Girl, your body is already great. I really hope she won't push herself too much by dieting too hard like she used to in the past.

Date: 2015-05-13 02:13 am (UTC)And I'm loving IU's and Gong Hyo Jin's characters already. I feel like usually in k dramas if there's a sassy woman they'll have a very sweet/candy girl character to play as the foil. But I'm glad that we've got two sassy, determined women in this show.

Date: 2015-05-13 05:46 pm (UTC)I mean, you can tell KSH is going to be very likable and sympathetic, and GHJ always does a good job with what she's given, but nothing - including the humor or the characters - really pops. Cha Tae-hyun seems to be overplaying it. I can't tell whether the charisma IU is trying to project is credible until I see more of her character - it definitely doesn't look she's going to be bad/glaringly ineffective, though.
I hope this doesn't devolve into a 'who'll end up with who?' narrative.

Date: 2015-05-14 02:12 pm (UTC)Haha and the first time I actually participated in a fansite donation for a food support. And all other things aside, Cha Tae Hyun's comic presence is no joke. When he's on screen, he just dominates.
And I like all the other 3 ofc.
I think I really like IU's acting (for an idol singer-actor) since Dream High (+ I put up with the nonevent that was Lee Soon Shin, watching most eps on ffwd) so I'm glad she's finally acting in another project I'm interested in. And I don't think you need to really look like you have a lot of 'force'/charisma to be a bitch BTS.
I mean just look at the whole yewon debacle IRL.
