im not totally sure either but I think it has to do with the fact of when they left. (other than the fact that ludakris are chinese and EXO M were''t really promoted in korea)

Kris left 2 years into their debut and Luhan left 3 years into their debut while JYJ left 5 years (?) after their debut.

I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with this mentality but that's what makes the most sense to me if you look at their working culture

Don't worry, it will happen. Most of HOT are at the point where they have nothing to lose. But sadly Kangta is just as comfortable in SME's arms as he was when they broke up and most of the members probably still hate SM/SME. It will probably happen in time for they're 20th anniversary.

JYJ left as a group but they only insult Kris and Luhan and say NOTHING about SM causing both situations

An article comparing DB5K and EXO12 isn't really reasonable though.

Kris and Luhan added a lot to EXO whether vocal, personality, looks, or just their massive fandoms. Idol groups are more than their songs lol. Besides I saw them perform as MOT6 and OT12. OT12 was definitely less engaging so it's easy to cut members when you have a mob in stage.

Honestly there is no reason for Krishan to go back and perform because why bother being trapped in Korea again? They are promoting where M failed to.

I don't see why EXO12 would happen seeing as the group is better off with those people gone. Neither Luhan nor Kris add much to the group personality wise, music wise, or in any other way (Luhan I guess income in China but EXO could survive without it honestly lol). Tao is the question here but even then I think they'd still manage.

DB5K was better with the people there, more well-rounded and the dynamic is different.

I'm surprised there were 0 comments about Cheska being a traitor when she left Fiestar (Cao Lu the chinese one stayed, Cheska isn't "homegrown" korean or w/e) but then again they aren't well known so there's less of a chance of random xenophobes jumping on the "FUCK THE CHINESE" bandwagon.

I've seen member changes in a lot of groups over the years, but it's only a huge deal when it's SM, probably because: 1) SM groups promote themselves with a sense of 'togetherness,' 2) SM tries to hold on to the their artists harder than other companies. I can't blame them for trying to hold on to them because they invest a lot of money and time into their groups and there's always a fear that if one leaves, the group will suffer... but they'd suffer less if they quit with all of the "we are one," "Soshibond" crap.

SM artists almost always end up leaving with a lawsuit in tow so there's a sense of betrayal. There's nothing wrong with people deciding that being an idol isn't what they want to do and being asked to be let go with the company's agreement.

I think SM has more resentment against JYJ so they'd block efforts for a TVXQ5 reunion, but Luhan & Kris have found sanctuary in China, and it would be a bad move to go back to Korea. If SM stops being a butt, OT5 could happen down the road, but EXO-M jumping ship and re-forming in China has a bigger chance than an EXO12 reunion.

DB5K is impossible. Even if they become friends, they would never perform again (not even for charity).
EXO12 is possible if SME wants it and Krihan is bored.

The main difference is that with EXO it was never personal, there was no possibility of the group ending just because of losing a member or two, but most importantly: Kris was trying to eave since debut era.

As nice as a TV5Q reunion would be the chances of that are extremely slim to none imo. Homin would have to leave and that's not happening. They're not even on speaking terms, but maybe army time will change that.

And for exo? Nahh. A china-line reunion is very likely though.

anyway, i see a OT5 possibility with DBSK. Those guys were separated not because of personal issues, so any bitter resentment with each other is probably all business related, but then this is just my opinion. With EXO, i only have hope for china-line, and maybe add a bit of hope for exo-m because they've been together for quite a while, but OT12 is just....maybe 0.0000000000001%??

Losing Lu Han for exo was, IMO, worse than losing Kris because, vocally, Lu Han offered sooo much for M like, it's obvious Xiumin and Lay aren't enough to support Chen as vocalists :/ It'd be cool if he could ever rejoin them but as far as I'm concerned, Kris has checked out

i loved db5k and was into exo12 for a while, but they're not in the same league to be compared. if anything, exo should be compared to suju. exo was created to be the second suju, lee soo man pretty much admitted that even before exo's debut.

I think DB5K being together for longer, going through much more (trying to break Japan etc), and the whole personal aspect of their breakup would result in a more meaningful reunion. Exo have literally just started losing members so it would be kinda meh.

I don't believe in a DB5K reunion. for me, changmin and yunho will stay forever at SM. they (jyj + homin) will be on good terms one day, but not enough to have a special stage or something similar.

it's sad to admit this as a fan, but the dynamic, chemistry, every aspect that made them the best group out there was lost with the painfull process.

for now on I just wish that they can keep, at least, a cordial relationship to honour all the difficult momenta that they lived together.
