Shawols, get your hearts (and wallets!) ready as SHINee has implicitly revealed that they will be returning with a new album for their 7th anniversary.
At their recent Tokyo Dome concert, SHINee mentioned that they were hard at work in preparing a Korean album but were coy about a comeback date. However, when in Malaysia for the just-completed 2015 Formula 1 Petrona Malaysia Grand Prix event, Onew and Minho, who represented the group at the press conference, dropped some tidbits about their comeback in a short interview post-conference. Onew commented, "We're working really hard to present a new but upgraded sound and image of SHINee. As our 7th anniversary as a group approaches, we thought that it would be a nice gift to our fans to come back at the time. Also, we have some surprises in store for the end of the year..." but didn't elaborate more.
Minho stepped in and added, "Onew-hyung is shy and modest so he won't mention this but I really want to tell our fans the good news: Onew will be having his solo debut later this year. Ah, probably 10/04? It's because his voice is so angelic that our company thought it would be good to have his debut around that time (t/n: in Korean, the word for angel is "chun-sa", which also means 1004, hence 10/04)." Onew replied, "It's true. Our group will have solo debuts. Actually, there's a basis behind our solo debuts. Fans are really smart and Jonghyun even mentioned the connection behind his and Taemin's logos. The story goes like this:
In a galaxy far, far away, existed a peaceful place known as SHINee World. 5 members reigned supreme. There was the solid BASE of Jonghyun, a sexy puppy that created the "Internet War" with the ACE of Taemin, the hidden devil that threatened to shake the foundation of our hearts. But wait - it was with the GRACE of Onew and his angelic smile as He brought forth the (TO)FACE of Key, the self-proclaimed diva, who, with his crazy antics, sought to make our love nutritious. Never fear, though, for the EMBRACE of rap!prophet Minho would have everyone whisper..."dibidibidis my name is Minho." together, these 5 stars have come to have us swoon and worship their holy beings.
Onew continued, "We thought the company was being smart. It's a good way to connect the five of us together, as well as reach out to our fans."
The two then finished with a shout-out to their fans and thanked them for all the love and promised to come back with new songs and image.
Meanwhile, fans can watch the teaser for SHINee WORLD IV, which will drop in Seoul May 16th and 17th.
