It has been reported that BtoB's maknae Yook Sungjae is going to leave to group to focus on his acting career.

Earlier this week a semi-confirmation of Yook Sungjae casting in School 2015 was released to the press. We believe it was the factor that propelled BtoB member to re-negotiate his activities with Cube Entertainment.

Yook Sunjae's contract with Cube Entertainment is still valid and is supposed to end only in 2017. Apparently, Yook Sungjae has already started talking to lawyers to find out whether or not he can pull out of his commitments with the band. Fortunately for the fans, it’s not looking too good for him right now.

BtoB's youngest member has been active in various acting projects, most notably TVN drama "Plus Nine Boys", acting as Kim Young Kwang's younger brother and one of the leads. His recent variety appearances in "Real Men" and "I Live Alone" managed to earn him and BtoB much needed popularity. He's easily the most marketable BtoB member and his loss will surely affect group's dynamics.

BtoB stands for Born to Beat and is a group that debuted in first half of 2012. Seven-memebered group has been struggling for relevance ever since. Despite the hardship on finding popularity on domestic market, their recent activities in Japan has been successful, despite Hallyu wave dying down in that area.

Yook Sungjae is a member of group's Vocal Line, BtoB sub-unit. It consisting of group's vocalist and is more focused on ballads and vocally-challenging songs. Their covers of artists such as Urban Zakapa, Lee Seung Chul, Noel and more has earned them much recognition. The group as a whole has been active on shows such as Immortal Song 2, winning much acclaim for their polished skills.

Although Yook Sungjae is currently re-negotiating his contract, he will participate in BtoB's upcoming concert, “Hello Mellody in Busan,” taking place April 4.

The news of Yook Sungjae withdrawing from BtoB had shocked fans, who are now concerned of BtoB's future and wondering if the group will have to disband.

Cube Entertainment, management agency of BtoB, has finally released an official statement regarding news about Yook Sungjae‘s departure from the group.

Hello. This is CUBE Entertainment.

We are giving our official statement on the news of Yook Sungjae leaving the group and BTOB’s break-up reported today.

It is true that Yook Sungjae’s exclusive contract is currently under re-negotiation, but Yook Sungjae’s departure from the group has not been decided yet and discussions are still going on.

As such, Yook Sungjae is expected to participate in all BTOB activities, including this week Busan concert.

As For his casting in drama 'School 2014', we choose not to comment on this issue. Please send your inquiries directly to 'School 2014' production company.

Yook Sungjae is discussing fully with the agency his thoughts on his future plans, goals, and career. We plan to decide together in consideration of Yook Sungjae’s opinion and other BTOB members’ positions. The agency will do its best for BTOB.

Henceforth, CUBE Entertainment will announce through official statements any future decisions that will be made.
