This isn't any new information, but it still shocks me every time. I almost don't believe it because how are these idols not dead by now? It makes me wonder if idols are being hospitalized/collapsing/getting sick more often than they are willing to admit. Having suffered from eating disorders in the past, looking at these meals and thinking about how it's all that they can eat in a day makes me sick. Nobody should have to live like that.

Some of the images of the women basically speaks volumes. The first images are "Ya'll crazy."

There is no need to eat this, a balance meal of healthy foods and a work out regiment is all a person needs and the occasional vitamins.

Park Bo Ram's isn't that bad/seems fairly balanced to me, but I'm curious as to whether or not Suzy's, IU's, etc. is a meal or an entire day, or if these are specific meals for fasting periods or what, because I don't know how eating a banana and a chicken breast throughout an entire day is sustainable at all.

These posts also make me reflect on how fucked up my relationship with food is, because my first reaction is never "this is crazy," but rather "lemme read this and get some pointers." :/

Most of these are nuts. At least Park Bo Ram has 5 meals a day. It's a strict one but I can live on that. Idk about nutrients because I'm no expert but it looks similar to some of what I've seen a nutritionist give my mom. Then again, I'm less active than some of the people on this list, a lot fucking less than Suzy for instance. I don't know. I don't understand how some of these women don't collapse, or just are in a terrible mood all day long, or feel dizzy, or anything, because when I've gone with such little food I've been a mess and felt like crap. Now, I know bodies are different, but WHAT THE HELL.

It's crazy and I've read about this so many times and it still amazes me in the worst possible way. You can be fit with a healthy diet, seriously.

To be honest, Park Bo Ram's diet seems to be the healthiest. 3 meals + 2 mid-day snacks. I think hers + the right amount of exercise should be what "dieting" looks like.

But don't quote me or anything, definitely not a health expert. Holy crap, though, Hwang Jung Eum?! Hers is probably the worst, followed by Ailee. Park Shin Hye would probably come in second and Suzy + IU would be tied...

Park Bo Ram's one seems ok. I had a diet plan similar before, and it does work.

But a lot of these does not seem healthy at all. I can imagine a lot of them will have iron deficiency and other problems, if they aren't taking extra vitamins on the side.

are these diets really what they follow? if so then it's so sad. i get the philosophy about eating to live vs living to eat but idek if this is enough food to live....

park bo ram's diet looks pretty reasonable. shes eating a good amount and its every couple hours so thats good.

but wtf is a block of tofu and black beans!? only one meal and youre suppose to live off that!? thats insane

Park Boram's diet is the most normal and healthy one, my friend also eats 5 meals a day and has lost a lot of weight in a healthy way.

I hate to see this kind of posts, I have a friend who overcame an eating disorder and she still has a hard time deciding between a healthy diet and this kind of diets that only starve you and make you weak. I love food way too much to starve myself.

Some of the portions in those pictures are ... misleading and perhaps done so for the shock factor.
For example: the one with the cucumber only shows HALF a cucumber > <
My idea of "chicken breast" actually means a whole chicken breast. Also that cup for each picture is far too small to count as a cup of ____ per day.

It's sad that some companies are starving their girls like this or the girls are doing it to themselves. I'm worried of how they can sustain themselves with these meals after performing at music shows AND at practices.

Honestly in Korea a lot of people have a very warped image of food portions and measurements in diets.

The cup thing for example, when I was living in Korea I had to be on a very strict diet for like a month because of my gastritis and I was basically eating veggies (mostly greens) and steamed chicken. When I showed my roommate my portions she thought i was cheating, but when I showed her the measurement cup she was like "But you can't use that cup to measure that's too big", and I was like um mm no this the actual measurement of a cup not the little cups you use to drink water lol.

Park Bo Ram's seems to be the only one that's fairly decent.

I thought eating less would help me, but I gained weight since my metabolism slowed...I wasn't burning off anything because I hadn't eaten much. But since these girls are running around so much, of course they're gonna lose weight. I hope these young women see it as starvation and not really a diet plan because the women are slim.

Setting yourself up for a whole load of health problems if you eat like that. Are these their reducing diets for when they're about to have a comeback/big event/filming or do they supposedly eat like this every day all the time?

Bo Ram's isn't bad and at least there's a decent amount of food and nutrition there. The rest are downright terrible, unbalanced and nowhere near enough food for a body to run its processes and stay healthy. Malnutrition and lack of vitamins/minerals/protein/fat isn't a joke. You don't mess with your body like that (well, even worse, I guess it's management telling these girls to eat this way...borderline human rights abuse...this could lead to so many health problems now and in the future for idols and could even kill them). Makes me angry.

fuckkkkk no i have never wanted to be thin enough to eat like this. the pressure on female idols and actresses is intense though.

the worst part is that they're not getting the vitamins they need...unless they swallow like 10 vitamins a day

ngl... i think everyone's diet except for park shin hye is good enough for a meal. they mostly have protein + veggies of some sort. protein is really filling. even with that block of tofu, if you were to split that over the day, that is heavy. maybe they're not that tasty but it's good enough and gives you what you need.

im not a nutritionist so i really don't know but I've been eating like this daily for two months and its not as crazy as it seems. (well i don't think so? lol)

The problem I see is the portions. If you are eating such small portions of those foods you should definitely consult your physician and see if you need extra vitamins tho, just my humble advice ha :)

Boram's eating regime is on point, but I expect this from her since she's so fit and healthy.

The portions are crazy, but I had roomates go for weeks eating just bananas, lettuce and cherry tomatoes.

IDK, I always see most idol diets and think that they're absolutely crazy, especially considering how active they are. Hell, I've had numerous days where I "get by" with one meal a day (and I know it's unhealthy, but it's not disordered eating so much as me just being incredibly bad at planning), but I'm certainly not dancing for hours a day or supposed to be in a good mood all the time. Park Boram's seems pretty decent tbh, but the rest of them.....

I'd pass out.
Is lactose intolerance not as common as I thought? I'd vomit or poop if I drank milk without a lactaid pill.

Also you can't starve like that the older you get. I used to starve easily but now I get lightheaded or dizzy if I don't eat enough.

same, to the second part. i used to do extreme diets all the time when I was in my teens, but now I'm 22, and I don't think I can eat below 1500 a day, and I'm inactive. I get very cranky and tired if I don't eat enough nutritious calories. I probably really hurt my health not eating well when I was younger.

I think most of these are cb diets, but that's still no good. I also rarely see a difference between cb weight and inbetween-cb weight for female idols, so what's the point?

what really strikes me is that they're not only eating so few calories, but the few calories they do eat aren't even packed with nutrition. Even with supplements, the body still needs fat/protein/carbs and does better at absobing nutrients from food than supplements.
