Hi everyone! I've had so much work to do this week and I've got a draft of a 20 page paper due Tuesday that I haven't started, but I really need a mental break.

I got my dream job, like DREAM. And with the organization I wanted to work for above all others to boot. I've reached a level of contentment that I didn't even know was possible.
The only sad thing is that many of friends are going out for positions with that organization and no one has heard back yet. There were hundreds of applicants and they made it to the final 100 for about 20 positions. I'm excited for myself, but I am trying to be sensitive and keep it on the low.
Also, trying to debate whether or not I'm going to blow all of my nonexistent money to see SHINee in May. Someone dissuade me (or not).
my directioner flatmate (who discovered omona two weeks ago via me converting them to unpretty rapstar) was filling me in on zayn fandom drama and as they finished the conversation, turned round to do the dishes and randomly finished the conversation with the word 'fighting'. took me a good five seconds to realise what they'd said and i was honestly on the floor for a few minutes lmao it was so random. flatmate has a lot to learn haha
p.s can someone teach me how to do a cut in a lj comment? i have never been able to make it work
Hi all! Only here for a quick sec to pop in b/c I'm putting finishing touches on packing for my trip for NYC!!!! AHHHH!!!! Also, super impressed I got my 8 step AB routine to fit into the pocket of my Fossil tote bag. (Full size products too!) I'll be spending like 13 hours in a car with 7 other people though. Thank God for noise canceling headphones!
I feel as though my disassociation with fiction and reality really affects how I consume media. Like... some people get so into stuff (tv shows, characters etc.) that they wish they had it in real life. That's never happened to me. I'm not saying it's bad or good, it's just what it is I suppose.
edit: but seriously it's so weird to me, when people say they wish they were dating like, Christian Grey in real life, because it's an abusive relationship technically. I can get liking the books (I mean I like a lot of messed up stuff too, although I never got into 50shades), but why would you want that in real life?
Don't worry. I'm like that too and I don't think it affects me much. I don't know if it is the same to you, but I'm not even passionate about things, like I can like a lot of different things and know about them, but they don't influence much on my humor or wishes. I read a book and I can like it and read it again a couple of times, but I never feel the characters as real. Maybe that's why a lot of posts on tumblr make me roll my eyes.
Also, I'm thinking about getting a tattoo on my arm of lyrics from Florence + the Machine's St Jude. That song made me cry for like an hour and a half. I can't really explain it. It made me really think about myself in such a... new way? My self and my depression and how I am always trying to figure out who I am in regards to what I want, and what I want to do in the future, and if I will have a future, etc. I always feel so hopeless. It would be this part, just in black ink on my left arm: "And I'm learning, so I'm leaving And even though I'm grieving I'm trying to find the meaning Let loss reveal it"

i've been sick all week. my body decided to give me a stomach flu, a uti, and my cycle all at once. i don't need to say that i've been miserable, lol. i learned i can't handle cipro either, so that's fun. i just wanna feel good enough so i can consume things other than cereal and ginger ale. :T
some people are coming to look at my house tomorrow morning, so i hope i feel slightly better. i won't hold my breath, but i hope someone puts an offer on it soon, lol.
I've been dealing with horrible anxiety (social anxiety) since I was 16 and because I now have insurance I've been put on medication for it. I couldn't in the past simply 'cause I couldn't afford to go to any of the doctors around here that are able to prescribe the medication I needed. After nearly a decade, I can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel. I'm ready to be able to get out into the world and actually do stuff without freaking out every five minutes!
