plot:
Heard It Through the Grapevine is a black comedy that satirizes the presumptuous and materialistic ideas by the top upper class in Korea, who are indulged in imperialistic power and thrive on inherited wealth and lineage.
Han Jeong-ho and Choi Yeon-hee are a wealthy couple from a prestigious family. Their reputation is suddenly turned upside down because their teenage son, Han In-sang, impregnates his girlfriend from an ordinary family, Seo Bom. Bom is determined to endure being isolated from her own family and humiliation from her in-laws for the sake of her child's future, while In-sang struggles between his love for Bom and his family's high expectations.

I love the clandestine party of the staff and where the sister go? I wanna more for her, I think she is an interesting character, she so supportive of her brother and new sister in law. I don't know I like her and wanna see more of her .

GLORIOUS drama. I love that In Sang is not envious at all with Seo Bom. She's VERY smart. She just never had the proper tools. Now that she does, she's prospering. In Sang is discovering love. Love in family. Love in a wife. It feels like he wants Seo Bom to be the best because the best she makes him feel is so much more worthy. I LOVE that dynamic.

I'm an avid watcher of this drama. Although I know it's a long drama, I can't help but be amused with all the plans that crumble right in front of those pompous two eyes hahaha. But I do appreciate the family realizing Bom's intelligence.

But idk, for some reason, I feel like In Sang and Bom will become more and more like them and their 'love~' moments will dissolve...they're a cute pair but just so naive, especially In Sang.

But baby Jin young's i judge you face to the grandparents is really adorable lol.

I have a bad feeling esp his mother disliking bom bc she sees her as threat/competition to insang in terms of studies, that he will feel insecure and see her as competition too. or idk.

yeah i could see that happening, like something leads them to dislike each other/head to divorce route (plus it's 30+ episodes). They're still young but have very conflicting ways in terms of how they view the world (in sang is like his parents in a way that he's unaware of struggles, never had to struggle to earn a high qualifying education while Bom is the exact opposite, never given the opportunity due to her economic situation). It's bound to cause conflicts and the show already started on that issue. And seeing how Korea's still kind of against women being better than the man (US is similar in that sense), I just hope Bom won't be put down and continuously be viewed as lower, when in fact she is more intelligent than In sang.

I'm glad the dad is seeing her talents and say he can use it for his own benefit, which can turn out to be beneficial if he becomes a better person. I see that he's slowly changing (still egoistic and pompous but somewhat knows when to stop himself lol). I hope the parents learn from the kids and communicate and be a bit more human like...which i hope will happen at the end.

whaaat I was totally unaware that it was going to be 30+ episodes. Man, I really hope they won't divorce but yeah that's likely bc everyone is meddlesome. Also, the dad isn't sure of Insang's abilities either & the mom keeps bringing up how much they spent on his education..

lol i was like what?? when i first saw the comments about the length of the show but then I read it's 32 episodes on the main page. It makes sense with the pace and somewhat gradual changes they show with the characters instead of sudden changes like in 16 episode dramas. I hope they won't divorce too but with the parents blocking them from seeing their own child and controlling how they should live their life, it's either divorce, cut off ties with the family all together, or make the parents realize their faults and they all grow together. In sang seems like a simple character but hard to grasp on his abilities as a person. He's a really genuine kid but...that's it. I have yet to see more than him just being in love with Bom and executing his abilities as a student. Maybe they would show him failing the bar exam and Bom passing the exam? That would really be interesting...

The parents just work soo hard to make this facade that they're drowning in their own pool lol. This drama makes me think that being rich always doesn't mean good, you can be so rich but waste that wealth in so many ways.

The mom has already driven me batshit because of her refusal to let Bom see her OWN child when she wants to. There are so many things that turn me off in this drama, but I continue to watch it to see what will happen...lol.
