Despite controversy, AOA’s Jimin and rapper IRON top charts with “Puss”

After performing a collaboration together on the survival rap show, Unpretty Rapstar, AOA’s Jimin and rapper IRON have dominated various music charts with their song “Puss.”

Following the song’s release at midnight on March 20th, the track officially managed to achieve an all-kill on March 21st on different music charts.

As of March 22nd, “Puss” has secured a spot as #1 on eight music charts such as Mnet, Genie, Soribada, Bugs, Olleh Music, Monkey 3, Naver Music, and Daum Music. Although they were previously first on Melon music chart, they have now been bumped down to #2 while Huh Gak’s “Snow of April” is at #1.

For the semi-final of the female spin-off to Show Me The Money Jimin had recruited the help of rap artist IRON, and Rhymer from BrandNew Music to serve as the producer for their song. However, after their performance aired the idol received negative comments on her stage from netizens.

Do they realize the maount of editing Mnet is using or that Jimin is bound (by contract) to act a certain way

The song is catchy, so I'm not surprised it's doing well. Also Iron needs all the coins he can get right now lbr. As for the stage....it was imo a case of wrong performance at the wrong time. It would have probably been better suited for a different occasion (especially since their performance was such a contrast to the other 3 from the episode).

And let's not forget that MC Mong album (last year??) that did really well. If people like the song they're going to buy it lmao. Isn't TS4A (or whatever) underperforming? That song....is not good.

LOL...I was just talking about this. I feel like Jimin made a club song to perform well on the charts because there was no way she was going to the finals over Cheetah.

She is using UR as an effective PR tool. Managing to have two number one songs is a pretty good result from the show. She's been number one on Melon for 33 hours, current #1 on the daily iChart, and #4 for last week's iChart

I mean it's not like she's going to talk about the realities of being an idol when she has to go back to AOA...and she did the same thing Bobby did really, "I'm an idol rapper and I'm still here." Or did they forget what kind of songs Go and L4L were?

The song is catchy so yeah. I don't think the challenge it was made for was the right place for it though and that's all I really have to say about it. She could have done something different, she got more insightful (was starting to) during earlier episodes so maybe she is just skilled at doing things at the wrong time lol.

I do think her criticisms are valid, though. And she isn't doing anything to prove anyone wrong neither is she bringing anything new to the table. She is improved but not enough to be winning anything just yet. So I dunno. We'll see how it goes.

I'm so conflicted about this show. Like I'm glad Cheetah is getting exposure but it's sad she's only getting it here and now and not on the first season of SMTM. I'm annoyed Jessi is even getting a shot to get some shine and that people are actually rooting for her ass. I'm annoyed that none of these girls who appeared on SMTM before couldn't get shine and had to be pitted against each other to thrive.

I don't consider Jimin good in any aspect even working the stage, everything she does you can see her thinking about it in her head and you can predict her every move. She's clearly not a rapper nor does she have talent yet her company thought it smart to put her on this show (probably hoping she'll do what Bobby did). Mnet probably thought she'd bring hype and kpop fans (which she did in a way) but they're doing her so wrong rn. It's clear they're trying to make her the antichrist to Cheetah's lord and savior and it's really annoying. Cheetah is good and deserves the shine but not in this way.

This show is creating so many bandwagon stans, and that's a bit too disturbing for my taste.
