I can't listen to it loudly (at work) - are they singing Automatic live? BC they seem hella nhf it/down and I'm wondering if it's bc they're concentrating more on singing than facial expressions. ICC is cute, but I still like Automatic better as a song.
icc was better this week but it still kinda lacks something. idk maybe their vocals will just never be as good as i thought they were going to be, i had this problem in happiness and be natural too.
LOL are you the first person to suggest that interpretation or is there actual fandom consensus that the lyrics are alluding to that? Because I too thought the lyrics sounded a little suggestive when I first heard them.
Does "you'll come my way" have the same potential double meaning in Korean that it does in English (is that what the translation attempted to capture)? The whole innocent white dress imagery in the lyrics, the schoolgirl/cheerleader uniforms (or "little girl" outfit in Yeri's case), on top of the Lolita lollipop stuff, etc. This single turned out to be a lot of creepier than it seemed initially.
This is one of those times where my enjoyment of a Kpop song is really aided by my lack of Korean proficiency.

LOL wtf. I never would have expected lyrics like "You were never interested before but now you go to church/Your blog is all about praising the Lord all day" & "You were an atheist but..." from that cutesy doo-wop-accented track. And it's such a weirdly specific scenario for a Kpop relationship-centric song.
Wasn't Yeri advertised as a dancer/rapper? We haven't seen any rapping, and her dancing is not very good...and not sure if I'm comfortable with how they're dressing her like a kindergartener.
The live singing is shaky, but I definitely prefer it to lyp-syncing. It's to be expected, I guess, that the lives will have less energy, but I remember the Happiness performances being much more lively - maybe they just need a little more time to get comfortable with this particular song.

Even by stupid idol group function standards (i.e. needing a visual), Red Velvet already had everything covered - Yeri's super cute, but Irene and to a lesser extent Joy (and if we were going by my preferences, Seulgi) already fill that visual role. Irene's a competent enough girl group rapper (I mean, maybe Yeri will surprise us, but I seriously doubt based on the evidence thus far that she's hiding mad skills); Seulgi, Irene, and probably Joy are better dancers; Yeri's voice seems weaker than Irene's....I mean what's the point? Just making the stage seem more crowded?
I just came out from under my rock and looked at the english translation of ice cream cake for the first time and I want to bleach my eyes. I knew there was something creepy about that video. This is the first time I ever wished a pop song could get banned from mainstream television for badly disguised subtext, but they've basically found a way to get away with having a fifteen-year-old girl sing about blowjobs. I mean "Pops, it’s melting in my mouth, Putting so much in That it’ll feel like my mouth is melting down," gee I wonder what that means. I can't believe I have been listening to this nasty pedo baiting shit.
But it's the same song! The same song in which said 15-year-old sings along to "it's so tasty, come and chase me." That doesn't make you cringe when you know the rest of the lyrics? If it were just Irene, Seulgi and Wendy it would just be cheesy, but with Joy and Yeri it's beyond sleazy, it's sick.
