I added some links above with more info regarding the subject since I find  vice videos more often then not very sensasionalist. It's also at times troubling when a westerner comes to portray another culture as something strange and peculiar without tryng to understand the cause and effect of what they are portraying, especially complicated subjects.

"Love" industry. I'll have to watch/read this stuff. I'm really interested in sex trafficking research/documentaries. Not sure how that's connected to what this is, but just learning about the sex trade just blows my mind.

This topic interests me greatly, thanks OP! I've already read two of the articles actually (Tenpro and Specs) and wow, interesting.

Also those "specs" are crazy. I do believe that we all have expectations and certain things we look for in a partner, but man, let's be realistic xD

I need to watch that documentary some time.

Also, does the ideal man / women even exist lol.

I think declining birthrates are a huge problem everywhere, but especially asia. I am from a country with even worse birthrates than korea, and i can totally see why women would not want kids. Why would I choose to work, look after kids, do chores, look after parent in laws and my own parents when I can be free and single, doing what I want with my own money.

Until society does something to help mothers, whether it is more maternity leave or whatever / change the mindset of women being expected to do so much, I don't see birthrates going up, because it just doesn't seem like a good option anymore for women.

i agree completely that mothers need more support, worldwide. It's not something we can ignore much longer

Where I used to live was commonly known for having a lot of "working girls". One time some Korean acquaintances wouldn't let me go home alone at night when I said where I lived cuz they thought it was dangerous/too seedy. I was like "Yeeeaah I'm pretty sure people in that area just wanna do their thang and aren't gonna bother me".

OMG I think some time last autumn I was walking with my boyfriend and few friends in Itaewon and they asked us if we would participate in filming and answer some questions about sex life. Of course we said no but now I wonder if this is the thing :O
Anyways, good watch!
