FNC Entertainment to Enter Drama Market, to Produce “School 2015″

Entertainment agency FNC Entertainment will be venturing into the drama market.

FNC, home to musical acts like AOA, CNBLUE, and FTISLAND, will be producing the upcoming drama “Who Are You – School 2015” (working title) that will premiere on April 27.

The company has already produced a two-episode miniseries “Thank You, Son” which aired on KBS in February. The drama was a great hit, having high ratings for a miniseries.

The upcoming “School” series will be adding a mystery twist to the usual themes of the previous “School” series. It will be wrapping up casting shortly and go into productions. Lee Yoo Bi has been in talks to star in the lead role of the drama.

I hope the lead is not Lee Yubi. What I saw in Pinocchio was not convincing at all (very Acting 101).

there seems to be hype around lee yoobi and idk why?? she's not bad, she just hasn't impressed me in anything she's been in.

Pinocchio gave her literally zero to work with, she was actually decent in her more subdued and 'normal' acting style before the compulsory make-the-second-lead-a-bitch syndrome set in. And even with that she worked with whatever scraps she was given - Gu Family Book was proof that she's 100 percent at home in more serious and emotional stuff too.

and I'll still take her over any of the AoA girls, none of them have been impressive on the acting front at all and certainly not fit to play lead.

oh dear lord. gonna be an aoa girl as lead with yoobi (hyejeong or mina?) and probably kwak dongyeon, minhyuk, maybe jung hae in too.

fnc also co-produced marry him if you dare which was basically a disaster so i don't have much hope for this.

apparently minhyuk is now 'in talks' for the male lead. lmao fnc.

if we're going for 4 leads - i think it's gonna be minhyuk / kwak dongyeon (he's promising) + hyejeong / lee yoobi. it would have been seolhyun but she's busy with orange marmalade.

if it was up to me i wouldn't have any of them lol. i love hyejeong but her acting is meh.

lol unfortunately yes. hence yonghwa's casting and him basically taking over the whole show in the second half.

lee dong gun is also under fnc - i would've switched agencies after they subjected him to that mess.

yeah i am v wary of this. fnc have total control here so i will be surprised if it's good.

Interesting. I like Lee Yoobi so I was going to watch this anyway. She'd be cute with Minhyuk. Although anytime an agency steps in and gets a say...this better not be like To the Beautiful You (although to be fair- GREAT soundtrack)

lee hyunwoo and kim jiwon are the only good things about that drama aside from the ost and even they couldn't make me watch past ep 10 (when hyunwoo becomes hot)

Mixed feelings about this.

Hope they cast Kwak Dongyeon. And maybe Jung Hae In as a young teacher. Minhyuk would suit a high school role but I wish that they stuck to the 'School' premise of casting semi-unknown talents or rookies.

I like Lee Yoo Bi but I was disappointed with her Pinochio performance so idk...

But yes yes YES to Lee Yoo Bi being lead. I just hope she gets to play a different kind of character from the ones I've seen her in. (Nice Guy, Pinocchio) And please include Jung Hae In, I like him!

yes to Kwak Dongyeon from like the 3 secs i saw from modern farmer, he was charming and this whole franchise is about finding new talented actors.

no to an AOA member and as much as i adore minhyuk in heirs no to him as well. someone please find nam joo hyuk and offer him a role, he can be a cute side character
