A photo of f(x) Amber allegedly smoking has undergone the scrutiny of netizens as many question whether this will affect her image as a member of an idol girl group.

Originally posted on March 17th via community board Instiz, the title read “Amber with an electronic cigarette? ‘No problem’ vs ‘But she’s in a girl group,'” and proceeded to copy and paste the article originally published through Korean media site Bridge Economy.

I'm shocked that netizens are actually being levelheaded and reasonable about something for once, haha. Obviously I'd like to see her quit smoking because it's not good for her health, but like everyone said, she's an adult and she's not doing anything illegal.

Lol I love when I come into posts about smoking, I've smoked for almost 15 years and honestly while I do plan on quitting at some point, it's not a cut and dry issue, and she's smoking an e cig which for now seems like a healthier option.

Technically, it's a vaporizer, not an e-cig. Those two look way different.

Not that they're good for you, but they "should" be better than regular smoking, though I feel like with all the different flavors, you can get addicted to them more (two of my best guy friends vape, hence why I know).

I wonder when this was taken because...Amber still has her blonde hair (to my knowledge).

Curious to know if she actually smokes or just tried it for the occasion (it is her decision, so whatevs). Also had friends who would try a vaporizer from my two guy friends above.

it's so weird to me when there are posts abt smoking and like ppl say stuff "smoking is gross" but no one ever says that abt like other stuff like when an idol drinks or smth. i mean the individual makes the conscious decision to do what they do to their body. most smokers (including myself) don't smoke in the presence of people who don't want secondhand smoke so they're not hurting anyone? and it's legal and stuff????? idk is it like a culture thing?

most smokers here smoke everywhere and even inside ACed closed rooms, while so far no drinkers ever spit their drink on me, so yeah I by default despise smokers more, but yeah I really don't care if they don't do it anywhere around me.
and idk how it is at wherever you're living at, but most smokers just smoke when they hangout whether there are non-smokers around or not, and I really can't stand the smoke, I mean I find the smell disgusting and I really get sick when I inhale too much of it, I even puked once because of it.

Technically it's a vaporizer, which is a much healthier option to smoking than an actual cigarette. While yes, it's bad for her health and so on and so forth, a vast majority of people in the music industry do it but are discreet about it I'm sure. Here, no one seems to really give a celebrity that's smoking a second glance, and I'm so used to seeing j-rockers and visual kei bands smoking openly outside/backstage/in their dressing rooms that it doesn't even phase me when I see idols/artists doing it.

The cigarette looks like one of those portable flavored vaporizers which I'd still want her not to go near.People like to tout them as a "safer" option to smoking even though there's very less regulation over their manufacturing than cigarettes and they've been found to contain toxins.Really why the obsession with pumping yourself full of poison.

how did you all quit? last one i had was december 2014 but everyday i want a cigarette. i just quit cold turkey because i didn't really wanna deal with lozenges (smoking for me was a whole ritual, less about the nicotine tbh)

No one really thinks I was a smoker, because I only smoked for 3 months, but I smoked nearly two packs a day for three months and quit cold turkey. I smoked because I was in a very stressful situation (living in a different country, only knowing about 3 people in said country, having no way of getting home, and knowing those people are upset with you) I'm lucky I didn't become addicted, or I'd still be smoking to this day.

smoking is gross. my uncle once was about to light a cig in a car while I was in it and I almost had a fit. I hate the smell and second hand smoke is a thing people.
