edit: i love it all! take it slow is the slow jam i never knew i needed and even though i'm not really into ballads, candy still pretty good. their voices are so beautiful i can't bring myself to hate it

wow, definitely a turning point for sm girl groups from my experience of them. this album feels a lot more interesting/sophisticated than they usually try with snsd and f(x) which isn't saying much but still. though f(x) are the token artsy group, these b-sides are a step up- like sm finally stopped limiting what they do with music because they're working with girls. comparing snsd/f(x) b-sides to exo/txvq/shinee's is just embarrassing- i do enjoy the former but all too often i completely forget they're all from the same company. in conclusion i had some expectations for this album and i wasn't disappointed. i feel like i got exactly what i expected for once and i'm very happy with it.

I am in love. The cover art is beautiful, and I absolutely love pastel colors. The birst with their colors is such a nice touch, now we know for sure Yeri's color is purple.

Honestly the only song I don't like as much is Stupid Cupid. I'm kinda obsessed with Somethin kinda crazy rn and I found the lyrics to Take it slow kinda funny, I mean lil baby Yeri singing about liking a younger boy lol. Oh and Candy, I teared up a little tbfh I've been waiting for a ballad since debut. Ice cream cake and Automatic are both jams.

MEH @ the album cover. The art is nice but I wish they did something more for it or made it more in line with the Ice Cream Cake theme. Where is the consolidated art direction of this concept???

But the tracks after Ice Cream Cake and Automatic are A++++++ the only one I think I'm kinda meh over is Stupid Cupid Wakeup.

It bugs me so much that they can't pick a visual to stick with! Every single visual they put out is different. I don't understand this album cover.

"Automatic" > everything. "Take It Slow" sounds like it'd make a cute winter holiday song (but I haven't looked at the lyrics yet).

It's an okay album. The only thing that really sticks out to me is their harmonies which are very pretty and I'm thankful for the limited rapping.

Really solid album. Somethin Kinda Crazy and Automatic are my favorites. I hope they do well and I can't wait to watch the lives.

Gdi, I feel bad for Soshi. Personal taste aside, they're SM's only group that gets most of the subpar and mediocre songs. Compare Mr.Mr and even IGAB and The Boys to their other acts and they just don't match in quality (except for Trick and Goodbye, because those songs are just an orgasm made into music); even their sub-unit gets superior songs.

I hope they get some good music this time around and their mindset about approaching this album with a rookie mentality is true.

i agree!!!!!! i wish they did what they did in japan they also did in korea. how they had like this musical color thing that they stuck to. their japanese discography is mostly great like club-by electro pop stuff. which is great considering their age.

it's sad bc i get why sm throws them filler songs. bc the public doesn't really care for snsd bc of their *music*, if anything. i mean, admittedly, i love snsd bc of their variety stuff and etc - their music is like secondary. i hope this changes though because sm will probably want to keep them around. and if snsd can't rely on their looks and old claims to fame, they could rely on their talent. shame how they could have spent all those years developing their talent. now it seems like its deteriorated (except sunny and seohyun who have def improved a lot)

Something Kinda Crazy is so good! Once I heard Ice Cream Cake with my headphones I loved it instantly. Such a grower.

Stupid Cupid should have stayed with SNSD but I enjoy everything else. Candy is really pretty.
