Rainbow ending Black Swan promotions after just 2 weeks

TV Daily recently reported that according to DSP Media on March 11, as announced through Rainbow‘s fan café, Rainbow is wrapping up their “Black Swan” promotions after just two weeks.

“With last week’s music show, [Rainbow’s] ‘Black Swan’ promotions have come to an end. Many thanks to all the fans who supported Rainbow’s third mini album, and we’ll work hard to return new and improved. Thank you,” said the agency.

While it was Rainbow’s first comeback in a year and eight months, the song, following its release last month on February 23, was unable to maintain a spot in the top 100 and failed to garner significant interest, resulting in the early termination of promotions.

DSP Media has officially announced today that after a 2 week promotion Rainbow’s Black Swan promotion has come to a end. This comes as no surprise as word has been floating around all week that this would be their last week. Rainbow has not been appearing on music shows, radio and they recently had their Meet & Greet (Rainbow usually does international fan events at end of their promotions) all 3 things were strong signs that it was going to end soon.

Rainbow was originally going to promote The Bad Man Cries with Black Swan (it would have been their Golden Touch with Tell me Tell me), but plans changed and so they only performed it on radio and released a choreography video.

It is believed that Woo Ri’s commitment to Flower of the Queen has been clashing too much with Rainbow’s schedule that it became hard for Rainbow to continue promoting and performing. Seung A was also connected to a film that is going to start shooting this month, but we are not sure if she’s still attached to it or not as that was reported back in January.

However, with this song I had the opposite reaction I usually have with Kpop. Usually I would be meh about the song on the first listen and after a couple of replays I love it. But with Black Swan a I loved it the first time and then I got bored really fast.

I didn't like the song at first but after a few more listenings I started to like it, and I think it's an interesting song. I'm surprised it didn't even last a full week in the top 100. It deserved better imo.

this is the end for them. the song was OK (even tho it grew on me after a while)---i'm not surprised it wasnt a hit but i didnt think it was going to flop this poorly.

Tbh the quality of a song not always have to do with how well or bad it performs in charts. I personally find lots of "hits" really dull and uninteresting ("Some" being a recent example). Sometimes the public just like a song for whatever reason (it goes viral, it's radio friendly, etc), but it doesn't mean the song is neccesarily good (or the songs that flop are neccesarily bad, just not public friendly enough or don't catch the public attention for some reason).

I think that the girls had their golden moment with A. Even thought they won nothing with it (it still messes with my mind how in the world that was possible! The song never gets old) it was everywhere, made them relevant and even if people didn't know them, they knew the song.
But DPS is awesome at shitty management and decided it was a good idea to make the girls go to Japan instead of making them stay in Korea and ride what could be their path to fame.
When they came back it was too late, no one cares about them and no matter how much these girls work, no one will care about them.
At this point I wished they were famous just for their looks and bodies, just as long they got some attention that made them known to the public, but even that seems hard...

"A" was such a fun Kpop single (it sounded like the best single Kara never got ahold of), and "Mach" will forever be their masterpiece IMO.

Jaekyung especially should have been a top-tier idol, but it just never worked out.

the mini album was good, if they promote the "Bad Man Cries" interestingly enough, it wouldn't flop so hard. Rainbow doesn't have fanbase big enough to win with mediocre songs yet. there were a lot of comments saying Black Swan was super basic song. so what, you move on.
