Upcoming MBC weekend drama “The Queen’s Flower” has released ethereal posters prior to its premiere.
The posters released on March 9 hold allusions to various themes of the upcoming drama.
In the main poster, the two leads of the drama, Kim Sung Ryung and Lee Sung Kyung, are half emerged in milky water while holding onto each other, dressed in flowing dresses. The poster designer and one of the producers of the drama, Park Seung Woo, said, “I was reminded of the story of the ‘Little Mermaid’ when I first read the synopsis of ‘The Queen’s Flower.’The main characters’ desire and struggle for success, love, and happiness seemed similar to that of the mermaid princess on land.” He continued, “The posters are portraying the characters under water who have reached the surface that they so desired.” The tagline on the posters reads, “If I could be happy for just one moment in life.”
As a result of growing up in a poor hillside village, Kim Sung-ryung’s character is driven to succeed. Instead of accepting life as a single mother, she abandons her daughter and moves to the States, but after suffering from financial ruin, she’s forced to return to Korea. She marries a chaebol who’s the director in a leading food conglomerate who doesn’t have time for love. After abandoning her daughter and fleeing to the States, she returns to Korea and becomes a gorgeous star chef and the MC of a cooking show.
The Queen's Flower will focus on her reunion with her estranged daughter (Lee Sung-kyung of It’s Okay, It’s Love). Yoon Park (What’s With This Family) will play the second son of the chaebol food conglomerate Eden Group, who has no shortage of women falling for him, but he shuns them all and falls for Lee Sung-kyung’s character at first sight. They’re destined for romance, but wait — isn’t his hyung supposed to be married to her mom? Cue drama. The Queen's Flower airs after Legendary Witch on MBC March 14.

Date: 2015-03-12 11:37 am (UTC)I'm a bit... ??? at this. This is only her 2nd role. So what previous roles did she keep getting, netizens?
I did think she kinda overacted at the beginning of It's Okay, That's Love. But she seems better towards the end. But, it's one character. Not enough to judge her yet.
I do think that her getting lead role in her 2nd role is pretty...?? But, eh, whatever. I'll just see this time if she's good or not, more curious about that than anything else. And hoping the story is good. Not watching it until it finished though.
Now that The Legendery With is finished, I'm watching that after finally getting to marathon watch Kill Me, Heal Me (really dislikes waiting for episodes) Since it's now finished, it's safe for me to watch. I'm really nervous about the ending.
