SM: The performances are interesting and are hard to copy

YG: The choreographies are not that hard, so anybody can enjoy the song.

=

1. [+397, -5] SM has hard choreographies so it's hard to copy them. YG has their own swag, which is another reason why it's hard to copy them ㅋㅋ SM is like, "we're good at dancing, you guys can't do this" whereas YG is like, "everybody screw off, we're YG, bow down, the stage is ours" ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

2. [+373, -4] I don't even think I can copy SM's. So when I try to copy YG, I feels like an octopus

3. [+324, -35] Agreed ㅋㅋ YG has more of a dominating aura, "fuck off, you kids" ㅋㅋ Such strong unnies and oppars, especially GD... Too...fierce... SM has cute and handsome kids like typical idols with their own aura. SM = princess, prince. YG = king, Gangnam clubbers

4. [+115, -0] Taeyang is an example. His doggy dance looked so easy so I tried to dance it in front of a mirror, and I looked like an idiot

5. [+94, -1] YG has more stage presence. Their dances are nothing but they look cool ㅋㅋ For SM, people don't even think of copying the dances... Their looks are non-human, after all. SM has the most fake copies and there's a huge differences between them ㅋㅋ

6. [+80, -2] SM can't even be touched, YG can be copied but can't pull the same aura

7. [+74, -0] I tried to copy the dance of Good Boy and swag, my ass.... I looked possessed

I feel like an octopus + I looked possessed is me whenever I try to dance to anything from any group, lmao.

Idk, their styles are obviously very different in general, why even the need to compare? At least compare companies that do somewhat similar performances.

Lol you can tell the 1 and 3 comments are YG bias. Majority of YG idols can't dance thats why they don't have hard choreography.

Jinhwan (1tym), GD, Taeyang, Seungri (Daesung pulls off every choreo too), CL, Minzy (Dara can keep up she just always looks stiff af), Seunghoon, Mino (while the rest do a good job too), Hanbin, Donghyuk, Junhoe , Jinhwan and Bobby (while Yunhyung and even Chanwoo can keep up just fine). AkMu and Hayi do different type of music so they don't really count. Although Chanhyuk can get down.

The only people who really can't dance are Bom and Tabi the rest are either really good or can at least keep up with the choreo. The reason why they usually don't have intricate choreos (Big Bang, 2ne1) is because they like performance base stages and because Tabi and Bom can't dance so it puts everyone else in a position where they can't do very complicated choreo as a group.

I love how Big Bang tried to dance when they first debuted and now they're just like "nah fuck it, we're Big Bang, we don't need to dance." :p And half the time TOP's doing his own weird little robot moves in the corner.

iKON's going to bring the serious choreo when they finally debut though; I'm excited to see what they do.

Lol, the i look possessed look is the one i'm sporting every time i attempt to "dance" !
When i think of hard/intricate SM performances/choreographies Shinee is the first group that comes to mind most of the time.

Also while i get what they mean with YG's style, i can't stop thinking of the "I love you" performance Bigbang did, all that out of control dancing!

(Random and OOT, did we not have a FFA on friday, or was i just blind and missed it?)

SM obviously have more spectacular choreographies but YG's artists have good stage presence anyway so it doesn't matter that much. I enjoy both tbh.

Big Bang doesn't bother with dancing anymore, but YG's groups sure know how to put on a show.

SMe has some great choreos, but they also have a lot of ridiculous and downright embarrassing dances.

Honestly I love Big Bang but the only reasons their stages are exciting for me is bc of their songs...i like choreo so i get a little bored watching them sometimes.

DBSK's stage presence is pretty unmatched though, even to this day. But IA about YG's artists tending to have a little more stage presence

Well, it works for YG. Groups release more than two singles a year so it's convenient for them to have simple choreo when promoting + they are more flexible on stage.

I love watching laborious choreos like After School and Ninemuses' too.

Despite lack of choreo, I always enjoy watching YG artists perform much more than SM artists, with the exclusion being SHINee. I saw it especially when I watched MAMA 2013; Big Bang turned their performance in to basically a concert, it felt less like I was watching an award show. I don't get that feeling when I watch SM perform, and usually don't give a second thought to what I've just watched once it's over. Even when I see WINNER performing, it's something I pay attention to.

although i love complicated choreography, i have to say that i enjoy yg's stages more than sm's (with the exception of shinee + dbsk - their stages i enjoy equally as much as yg's) - and i think going to the yg fam con p. much solidified my love for yg's stage presence

it's not just bb tbh, like all acts under yg - which i have seen live at least - have such great stage presence and performances it's wonderful
