I'm so glad I stopped caring about them sans Hakyeon after Hyde. I saw someone on Twitter saying how she thinks Hakyeon probably doesn't say anything to stop the members because he's gotten the same comments since young so he's probably not fazed by them BUT HE'S MENTIONED SO MANY TIMES THAT HE'S INSECURE ABOUT HIS SKIN???? The members are just downright assholes at this point in time tbh it's amazing how they don't even have the basic decency to know not to tease someone about their insecurities (does this make sense my wording seems all over the place)

I honestly don't understand why the other vixx members insist on making fun of him for his skin colour when N's the one person whom imo always shows his discomfort when they bring it up (as opposed to other groups who may brush it off) and it's not like ken and ravi are much lighter themselves like do they not own a mirror or are they just projecting their own insecurities???

Ugh. I really hate it when people get shit thrown at them for things they can't control. Squeaky voice, high voice, darker than 'normal' skin tone, ugly, plastic surgery... they can't just win, can they? smh.
I really really really love VIXX and I WAS SO HAPPY when the members mentioned awhile back that N's skin tone was one of his charms or something. I thought they finally realized how douche-y their colourist comments are and the comments about his skin stopped for a while. BUT LO AND BEHOLD THEY'RE BACK.
This is so frustrating because as one with brown skin tone, it's pretty obvious how cosmetics/clothes are obviously not geared towards my skin color and its so hard to find my shade of brown. How stressing must it be for Hakyeon who has to deal with this shit and is expected to ACT MATURELY about it. If it was me, I would have slapped everyone insulting me tbh.

I mean, i guess its interesting to see how different cultures deal with the same problems. Skin color jokes are very usual in my home country as well but I cant and wont defend SK or vixx or their culture bc I just dont know how it is there.

But living in europe and having european friends I have realized that skin color jokes are gross and racist in a different way that they were in my country? So I am taking a guess its the same feeling in the US... SO I can see why this is such a big deal for I-fans. Id like to see what asian/sk people have to say abt this issue bc im really curious tbh.

it is a different culture and they do have different views of skin color - i mean i can't generalize here or speak for the whole of asia but from what i've been through and experienced in india (my home country), people do make jokes like "oh look how dark you've become" but it's never meant in a demeaning way? or at least when my family has joked about it, it's never been demeaning and we've never looked down on people who have darker skin color. honestly what gets me bothering about india is all the fairness creams, and though some are more about getting rid of daily dust and pollution off of your face, most have the underlying message that fair skin is better than dark skin. with that, it's annoying and irritating.

so imo, light hearted skin color jokes, at least in my country, are not doing in a harmful way or being colorist - but what vixx has been doing is a continuous thing despite n mentioning several times about his insecurities (not to mention that they also continuously joke about or actually leave him out of things - i'm not too sure about this since i'm not really in the fandom but i've seen enough posts about it). and the continuous thing despite n's insecurities is what makes them assholes and colorists. their is a line and a point until where you can call it teasing but they've passed it.
