I didn't see anyone posting it and I found it pretty fun to watch so I though I would give it a try, besides Jonghyun sang a bit of a self composed song "Even Cockroaches Have Lovers But Not Me" which just the title already deserves a mention but the bit he sang sounds very different from what he has show us till now and I would love to hear more.

jonghyun's performances on sketchbook are probably my favorite out of his entire promotions. i really love the live band backing him up and the live backup singers too. both he and iron were really on point that night.

also the number of times he touches his hair and face palms. this guy ♥

ALSO TRASH OPPA WHAT ARE YOU DOING ON THIS SHOW

"Even Cockroaches Have Lovers But Not Me"
lol I don't get him sometimes. On one hand he's always complaining that he's single and in the other hand he recently said that he's not interested on a relationship by now.
His performances here were so good tho. He should always performance with the live band because everything sounds awesome tbh.

lol I honestly don't know what to think anymore because there are people who don't want to be in a relationship either because they're more focused in their career or because they aren't in the mood for it, so I can understand him because I was like that not too long ago too, but the thing is that at the same time he complains about being single so ??? idk what's going on. He's still pretty young anyway so he shouldn't be desperated about being single. I didn't even think about anything "serious" when I was his age tbh, just casual dating/hook ups and stuff lol.

I don't think he's found someone because when a BN's listener said something about him/her being single he replied he was single too even tho who knows, he could be dating and not saying it publicly because he already got lots of shit with the SSK scandal. But at the same time, SHINee and their fans are older now so I think they'd take it much better, especially with SM being so open with relationships now (SNSD, Sungmin, Baekyeon, etc...) so that makes me think that if he or the other members really were dating someone they probably wouldn't hide it now but who knows.

tbh, a lot of shinee's fandom is older now, especially their korean fandom, but the reaction of the netizens if he were to be caught dating again or own up again would be nasty as hell. obviously there's always going to be assholes hanging around but for someone like jonghyun who's been pretty open about how much netizen comments affect him and how he keeps on going back to read them despite that. like, example: early last year when he was rumored to be dating lee yoo bi for about five seconds (which i think was actually legitimate) some of the reactions i saw were... not as much in response to the possibility of dating in general but to HIM being the one dating. one that stuck with me was: "the goo hara of the male idol world." which is rude to both him and hara. it sucks too because two of the three dating rumors that've circulated about him since the ssk scandal were false (the kyungri one was created by anti fans and the yura one wasn't even a scandal / was pushed on as a joke by shindong and people took it seriously). i think at this point he's just making a joke out of dating, tbh, especially his "anti"-couple thing; it's become like an inside joke with blue night listeners anymore.

Yeah, I don't know why people are so nasty to him tbh, and especially considering that he's almost 25 now and it'd be perfectly normal to be dating. I saw that "the male Goo Hara" thing and I was like ???. Not only was rude af to him and Hara, but also exaggerated as hell because aside from SSK and (maybe) Yubi, the others rumors were proven to be false and it's not like he's spotted hooking up everyday ffs. Idk why people are so damn reluctant to him dating when even Baekyeon didn't get that much shit despite being from EXO/SNSD. I seriously hope that if he ever wants to date publicly netizens and fans stop giving him so much shit because he doesn't deserve this at all and it makes me sad and frustrated.

ia but let's remember that even older idols have got backlash for being caught dating, look at the freakouts in response to Sungmin (relative nugu within SJ/way senior) getting married, Taeyeon getting hate even now despite previously being the beloved fan fav of SNSD (also senior), Sooyoung getting accused of only booking drama roles because of her bf's dad, BoA getting some old dating rumours thrown in her face even years later, the hate directed at Seo Yeji when the news broke that Yunho might be dating her......yeah some people in SM have got away with no backlash for dating but idt Shinee are going to be there for years yet. Hell, Hara and Junhyung had a quiet relationship and broke up quietly with relatively little hate too but even a rumour that she might be dating again, two years after the breakup, had people tearing her to pieces. And you get the rest of Beast saying they would never date publicly after Junhyung was outed.

sorry for all the tl; dr but personally, I'd still fear for the life and career of any girl Shinee are rumoured to be dating. ia that he was possibly dating Yubi but squelching that rumour and ending things was the best thing for both of them career-wise :/

Yeah, you're right but I seriously don't get it because it's not like SHINee is a super popular group with hordes of fans like DBSK at their prime, SuJu, SNSD and lately EXO. They've always been a second-tier group with way more older than teenage fans so I'll never understand why Jjong got so much shit when the SSK scandal happened, and fans are still so reluctant to him (and probably the other members too) dating. They kinda "accepted" Baekyeon despite being members of super popular groups so idk why they can't do the same with SHINee tbh.

I heard some fan accounts of SHINee's songs being played on streets like never before
Really?! That's weird because they haven't had a Korean comeback in forever, but I'm really glad they're getting more public recognition because I've always found sad that they've never got so many fans and public recognition as the rest of groups of their company when they're so talented, hard working, have a great discography and a relatively clean image. Do you know why they're suddenly getting that popular? I guess it's partly because Jonghyun got some public recognition with Deja Boo (the song is still top 50 on melon and a couple of other charts after 2 months) and they're also endorsing popular brands like The Saem and Baskin Robbins idk. I still find weird they're suddenly playing their songs now that it's been more than a year since their last comeback.
I truly hope they got a jam that both kpop fans and the general public like because I'd love to see them *really* slaying for once tbh.

Yeah, but they've never had a super hit like for example DBSK - Mirotic, SuJu - Sorry Sorry, SNSD- Gee, f(x) - Electric Shock, EXO - Growl, etc...They've usually done well but lacked of a huge ass fanbase like DBSK, SuJu, SNSD and EXO and/or a super hit song like those mentioned. They also haven't got as many endorsements as other groups of their company and other companies. I mean, even Infinite and B1A4 have more endorsements than them, so I really think they'd need their own Growl/Gee/etc to finally get the top tier position. It can be difficult considering they're already a 7 y/o group but who knows. They're still young and anything can happen.

The real time charts fluctuate all the time and he's under the top 50 now, but it's been fluctuating between 46-49 almost all the time today, and it's also top 50 in the daily charts:
http://www.melon.com/chart/day/index.htm
I hate when people say this is all because of Zion T when 1) Zion T is not a digital monster like IU or anything and 2) By that standard why is Amber so low if Taeyeon who's super popular is featuring in her song? Having a popular collaborator or even being popular by yourself =/= success. I mean, Henry is pretty popular with the general public for his variety and he did pretty bad with Fantastic. So I'm sick of people demeaning him. Nobody has said he's ~slayed~ like Kyuhyun but he's far from a flop like some people have said. A flop isn't top 50 almost all the time after 2 freaking months.

Yeah, Lucifer is probably their most famous song international-wise and you can see it in the fact that it has almost 60 millions of views on youtube. RDD is also pretty popular too, with 55 millions but I'm not sure if they were hits in Korea. From what I read they did well but didn't ~slay~ like Gee, Mirotic, Growl, etc. They also did well with Sherlock and Dream Girl but again, not at "super hits" level.
EXO already had a big fandom before Growl because SM has been hyping them since their pre-debut days but lbr, if it wasn't for Growl they wouldn't be so popular with the general public now. Before Growl they were only popular with SM fans and their own fandom (Mama is considered a flop debut and Wolf didn't do well digitally either) but since Growl became a digital hit, they started to get popular with the general public and get lots of CF deals, some roles in dramas, musicals, etc...so Growl definitely helped them to get like 80% of the popularity they have now. Before that people outside their fans couldn't even name one member.

I agree in SHINee being more popular than B1A4 but I wouldn't be so sure about more popular than Infinite tbh. I don't know how is their popularity now but I know they were reeeally popular, like the "hot trend" a couple of years ago, with lots of endorsements and almost EXO level of fan following (especially amongst young teens). They have pretty decent digitals and really good physicals, similar to SHINee's sales or even a bit more sometimes. Anyway, digital or physical sales by themselves aren't enough to determine if a group is top tier/second tier, etc. I mean, 2PM is apparently still considered top tier (or at least second tier) when last year they flopped both physically and digitally and they don't get as much endorsements as they used to, but they still have brand power, public recognition and do really well in Japan so...there's a lot of factors involved after all.

i agree. i defenitly think that though they're considered a second tier group, the general public recieves them well as a genuinely talented group in a way i haven't really seen with suju/snsd/exo and most other idol groups. i honestly think in a way it benifits them because korea has a strict line between who's considered an artist and who's considered an idol and what that means. but with shinee i've seen a lot of 'wow they're artists too' from knetz etc.

That's something I'll never understand tbh. If the general public consider them "true artists" and the industry praise them as well, why they don't get more recognition (like more CFs, variety, better digital/physical sales, etc...)? Like I said above, I think they'd definitely need a huge hit a la Mirotic, Gee, Growl, etc to be finally considered top tier. I mean, EXO became all popular and suddenly got all the endorsements after Growl so I think a hit song is what they really need to stop being 2nd tier.

Yeees, I watched this episode a couple of days ago and I really liked it! Well, I watched Jonghyun and KHN/Jung Woo's bits. Junghyun and YHY are both really witty, so it's fun watching them talk to each other. But I also loved Jung Woo's solo performance b/c he was soooooo nervous (also HELLO to that deep voice!); and the three C'est Si Bon actors singing together was really enjoyable as well.
