eesh...that sounded like a strong contender for most annoying song ever. I can't believe the chorus is actually 왜요왜요 x4 Did no one stop to think that might sound whiny?
damn this sounds so annoying + her hair x makeup is always awful. she legit looks 100% white, if i were her makeup x hair team i'd be styling her so she simply looks like a korean who happens to have western features.
also i'm told she has a solid voice, if so why are they wasting it on this type of song? idk
she has ballads but none of them seem popular so far so i guess they're trying to shake it up with a jam? there'll likely be ballads on her mini that show off her voice
i think they dress her like that because she's young (she's actually school-aged, so she and soohyun/hayi are basically the only people in school mvs who are that age--when everyone in the group/collab/solo is of correct age) and they want to capitalise on the fact she's half-white à la chocolat? so they're emphasising her white features rather than minimalising them so she looks korean with white features the problem is it's backfiring; as in when she performed the korean national anthem and koreans complained about a "foreigner" doing it even though she's lived in korea since she was twelve.
it's def back firing they should change their plans asap if they want to her be accepted and well known. they should also give her a stage name like ji young and her mother's surname. the fact she looks so white/her name just makes her seem like a foreigner.
