Park Yoochun and Shin Se Kyung Confirmed to Star in New SBS Drama

It is finally confirmed.

After many talks of who will be cast for the new drama “Sensory Couple” (working title), it was reported on February 27 that Park Yoochun and Shin Se Kyung are confirmed to star in the new SBS drama. Because miss A‘s Suzy turned down the role to now be played by Shin Se Kyung, many were curious as to who will be confirmed for the drama.


The work is originally a webtoon titled “Girl Who Sees Smell.” The drama will be about a woman who miraculously survives an accident called “The Bar Code Murder Case” and a man who loses his sister in the same accident. After the accident, the woman suffers memory loss but becomes extrasensory.

Park Yoochun plays a character that goes into a coma after the murder case. Although he wakes up in three days, he loses senses such as smelling, tasting, and is unable to feel pain.

Meanwhile, the filming of the drama will start next week, and it will be aired on April.

but yeah, it's not a promising casting. idk why casting directors keep refusing to hire actresses who actually show some evidence of talent. Like someone said, it's like passing up a box of chocolate and going straight for turds.

There really are so many good actresses who deserve to be in a high profile drama. And people can say what they want about Yoochun's acting (although lbr most people who criticize him haven't seen anything of his since rooftop prince lol), but he's kind of making a name for himself as a legitimate actor so it would be nice if a talented, lesser known actress was given this opportunity.

um there aren't a lot of young female actresses to begin with and the talented ones have no incentives to go over to dramas when they're filming female-centric movies, getting paid more, and sleep more doing it. like it's a vicious cycle, the dramas are heavily focused on male leads already.

There are plenty of young female actresses... Lee Yoobi, Kim Jiwon, Im Jooeun, Jung Somin, etc all of whom are very talented but constantly shafted. It only seems like there's not many because the same five faces are being offered roles.

dude im joo eun and jung so min are NOT good at acting and they've been heavily criticized each time (well im joo eun did fine in hon. not so much in others esp heirs). lee yoo bi is still a rookie and her agency is sidus and her mother gyeon miri - she's never been shafted. she's just not at the leads level yet.

idk about them, they both seem fine to me but wasn't Jung So Min highly praised at the time of her debut ? And also for CWGM, she was good there. Even with their deficiencies they're waayyyy ahead of the girls who keep getting offered lead roles like the ones inthis project (minus Kim Ji Won)

idk what Sidus is doing with Lee Yoobi tbh. They don't seem to stir their asses for any of their 20something actors who aren't Kim Woo Bin, like 3 years after her debut at least try not to let the girl go 18 months between acting jobs coming out :/ she's debuted in 2011 and can kill it if given even the smallest scraps to work with, Pinocchio was a total waste of her.

At least Kim Ji Won switched agencies about 2 months ago. I hope they find her the jobs she deserves.

i didn't see jung so min's debut but i know she got a LOT of shit for her acting in playful kiss (as did majority of the actors there) and is still known as one of the worse actresses. idk if you watch stuff subbed or in korean but im joo eun's enunciation is beyond horrid (i think maybe it's braces issue).

honestly i don't like how sidus is managing kim woo bin either because it's so clear that they didn't expect him to get big in a drama that they tried to prevent him from acting in (school 2013) and now all their focus is sending him overseas to make quick bucks. problem with lee yoo bi is that her acting range's been very limited but as far as her activities and career go it's pretty typical for young actors and actresses. pinocchio was a bad choice for her and sidus, the role was way too small for a second lead and i don't think either saw that coming.

the problem with the actresses you've mentioned is that at least the five girls who keep getting roles have something other than acting to prove that they're marketable - even jin se yeon with her shitty acting has a good track record in terms of ratings (very lucky at that) and that's enough for higher ups to hire her despite her terrible skills - and these girls just don't have it yet. they need a breakout role as secondary characters, which unfortunately is frustratingly harder for girls compared to guys.
