Keeping in mind that these were just made from a launchpad recently gifted to her, I wouldn't expect anything amazing. But it's a great start, and hopefully she plays around with it more and finds a serious interest in composing so that she can finally start grasping on to the reigns of her own career.

she's been dabbling in lyric-writing and composition since 2009 (according to her own statements on 2ne1tv) but w/e i guess it's lucky for her that yg already has a talented team of writers/producers 🙊 hopefully she starts treating it more seriously than a passing hobby, because if she's trying to prove she can go it alone, she.. shouldn't have posted these tbh

this is why I say not everyone should be composing. I remember during 2NE1's hiatus ppl were like "but why aren't 2NE1 composing their own music?" and yeah no. I'd rather get good songs from producers than get half baked ones written by my faves. you can almost always tell which songs are written by legit producers/musically talented ppl and which are idols' own compositions. I'm here for the good pop songs not to watch these ppl get royalties so leave the songwriting to those that are rly good at it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

tbh the first one made me giggle but i like the second & third
she's not about to release these ones as solos & obviously if she was hoping to release this stuff it would go through yg's processing system & get changed/deleted so i don't really get people's comments about thinking this will relate/equate to a solo. i'm glad she's taking something of a stronger role in her own artistry, and hopefully it'll convince yg to put her in the position like cl where she gets to work with the folks at yg & they can nurture her.

Honestly, I think this is great.
If you're in a creative industry, you need to feed yourself. You need to do something of your own, even if it's just doodling your own little webcomic, writing silly short stories or - in Minzy's case - taking classes to keep your dance fresh and noodling around with some music software.
This doesn't have to go anywhere, and it doesn't sounds great, but I'm happy she's doing something for herself, whether or not she has higher aspirations.
