im so on board for this. master's sun was great so i have faith this will be good. i want woo bin back in dramaland and with a fun project. kang sora also needs to get a lead role in a public broadcast that is actually good. hopefully we'll hear more about this soon

The last Hong sisters' drama that I absolutely love is Sassy Girl, Chunhyang and that was like 10 years ago. Hong Gil Dong is good until they butchered the ending. :(

I have legit heard of only one accusation against Best Love because of the fake-marriage variety show premise, and MBC debunked that quite thoroughly by pointing out they'd been airing We Got Married (i.e..an irl fake celebrity marriage show) for years before the webtoon that accused the Hongs even existed.

no no both best love and master's sun have plagiarism issue with a romance novel and a BL fiction, first of which the author tried to fight back but the drama fans attacked him until he gave up, and the latter didn't even try because of the first case and she didn't want her anonymity revealed since slash fic comm is so small and looked down upon.

tbf a lot of people had trouble seeing So Ji Sub as a romcom hero when they were courting him for the role but it worked out beautifully.

I guess it'll all boil down to how their acting styles mesh, I've never seen either of them lack chemistry with costars in a drama. Like, even in their second lead roles they have more chemistry with the main lead (Stranger/Heirs) than the actual first lead did. Tho I think she's better than him acting-wise.

Lol @the contrast between the top 4 comments and the rest........and jfc how can anyone claim they "don't have chemistry" when they have literally NEVER BEEN SEEN TOGETHER IRL forget worked together for you to judge their chemistry. And Woobin is an 89er, like damn save your enlistment ire for all those 85-87ers who are still around and actually due/overdue to go.

the Hong sisters writing is full of 3rd act flaws but they excel at exploiting actor talent and chemistry and they generally choose good leads. I hope Sora takes this, it might go some way towards mitigating the insult that was DrStranger. A Hong sisters drama is usually a good potential breakout for young leads so I hope she and KWB have good enough chemistry to make it and do really well afterwards (and please god don't pull another Big).

I love both of them separately (❤ !), and the idea of them being together in a rom com written by none other than Hong Sisters is like a dream come true for me. I think I will thank the kdramagods in person if this news really come true hahaha! As for Hong sisters, I watched a few of their stuff and liked them, skipped Big though and don't think I'll ever watch that. Don't get the netizen who commented that they don't have chemistry together. Were they even in a drama or a movie together before? Hahaha :/ I'm so looking forward to this omg. I kinda think they could match?? Like they both can go for a tough and cool anti-hero feel which is why I can see why netizens wouldn't think they'd match. But like, imagine them in a romcom with those kind of personalities -- it'd be interesting seeing a pair of chic city people trying to date and not clicking with the typical sweet flower types. Plus the pure innocent female lead being the only person able to bring out the warmth in the cold abrasive male lead is tiring on so many levels and having the opposite would turn into 'I was really feminine and /normal/ all along I just needed the attention of a man to bring it out' bleh
