Fans spot Tao in a wheelchair at the airport on his way home for Lunar New Year

On February 18th, fans began buzzing as EXO-M member Tao was seen traveling to his hometown in China for the Lunar New Year holidays in a wheelchair.

On February 18th, Tao was spotted in a wheelchair upon arrival at the Qingdao International Airport, being assisted by an airport ground staff. On the same day, Tao wrote on his Weibo, “Year 2015, Happy Year of the Goat~ I’m already home, and my leg injury has gotten a lot better, so don’t worry~ It’s a very warm feeling to be home. 2015’s Lunar New Year is a happy one for me because of my dad, mom, grandma, grandpa, relatives, and you guys. Hope everyone is happy and may all your wishes come true~”

Tao continued, “Today I had my grandma’s homemade pig kidney dish. This makes me think of my childhood days; this is my favourite dish made by my grandma! Which family homemade dish do you guys want to eat the most? Come on, show me.”

Despite being reassured by Tao himself that he is feeling better, fans have been concerned ever since the news of his injury surfaced, and grew even more worried after the pictures capturing him in a wheelchair at the airport were revealed.

Tao, along with GOT7’s Jackson, initially got injured while filming for MBC’s 2015 Idol Star Athletics Championships back on February 2nd.

An EXO member’s injuries have fans worrying.

On February 18, one of EXO’s youngest members Tao was seen at the Qingdao Airport in China in a wheelchair. He was heading to his hometown for the Chinese Lunar New Year, where fans were waiting to greet him when he was spotted being pushed in a wheelchair. Tao was seen walking on his own in Korea prior to boarding the flight to China.

At the airport in China, Tao was greeted by both of his parents and many fans. Chinese website Korea Star Daily reports that the wheelchair was used as a precaution, in case passengers and fans accidentally bumped into Tao’s injured leg.

Tao was injured at the 2015 Idol Star Athletics event, as was GOT7 member Jackson. He spent time resting at EXO’s dorm following the event, and his foot is mostly healed, but as a safeguard he used the wheelchair.

Videos and photos uploaded to Twitter by fans at the airport show Tao meeting his parents, and talking with fans who were there to greet him.

he just needs to be banned from idol sports because he's gotten hurt every single time

i guess at this point it's impossible to expect fans not to follow them everywhere but i don't really need to know who his parents are or what they look like. it just feels wrong.
